Barry Murray’s life is simple: run his bar, keep his employees happy, and remain alone. For most of his life, it’s been easy, but he allows himself one exception: his favorite pop star, Lila Wilde.
For years, he’s listened to her albums when going through the toughest parts of his life. So when he finds her panicking in the alley behind his bar, all of his walls come tumbling down and he opens up to her in a way he’s never done with anyone else.
Fate keeps making their paths cross, and he’s falling for her, hard. But when he offers to give her everything, she says no. Then he meets the quiet Rose Hill, a woman who keeps running into him at his bar. She instantly reminds him of Lila, and while he swears he won’t get close to her, he can’t stop himself.
Falling for two women was never in his plan, but he’s determined not to break either of their hearts.
However, when he looks at Rose and sees someone else, he finds it impossible.
Lila Wilde wasn’t always Lila Wilde. She was once a girl with big dreams who happened to find stardom. But now, all of it feels empty. She has an agent who pushes her into writing songs she doesn’t like, a growing number of fans who are unhappy with her music, and a boyfriend she just caught locking lips with another woman.
She hasn’t written anything of substance in far too long and she’s desperate to find that spark again. When she meets Barry Murray, she finally feels it and finds herself unable to stay away from him.
But then her life crumbles and the paparazzi beg for any glimpse of her, so she decides to sink into someone she hasn’t been for a very long time.
A quiet woman named Rose Hill.
Rose can give Barry everything Lila can’t, yet he seems more interested in her famous counterpart than the real her. But then her secrets come tumbling down, rocking the very core of her and Barry’s bond. And she isn’t sure if he will ever forgive her, no matter her reasons for keeping her two lives a secret.
Movers and Shakers is the third and final book of the Family Business series but can be read as a standalone. It features a pop star heroine, a swoony bar owner hero, a happily ever after, and many spicy scenes.
Decepcionante.
First i would like to thank the author for the ARC. beware of possible spoilers . . . . . . . Rating: 4.25 stars Spice: 1.5 stars
Fave tropes: -secret identity -siblings repairing bonds - finding family -pop star FMC -Bar owner/guitarist MMC -Following your dreams
Review: I have loved this series and how the siblings have repaired the relationships between them slowly but surely. I am sad to see this series end but loved how it was written and cannot wait to read more of this author, they are definitely an auto-read author for me at this point (having read most of their books)
After the cliffhanger of the last book, i was excited to get to Barry's book especially as Barry's books starts during book 1 and 2s timeline in the background, so it was nice to see the build up and to have another perspective to the previous couples.
how Barry and 'Lia' was such a meet cute, even though it mostly turned into a friends thing as she was in a relationship. then Lia coming back as Rose later and still having a connection.
I liked how Rose was conflicted in keeping her secret from Barry especially when he was trusting Lia and Rose with his vunerability in certain situations.
I loved Rose friendship with her bodyguard and then sharing her secret and this gives Rose confidence to tell Barry.
I also like how Rose/Lia gets better management and she gains more freedom in her music that she wants. Really hate her ex and x agent. Love the interview at the end, Barry is a major upgrade.
i liked how Roses Mum and Dad got slightly redeemed in this story especially how they were shown in the beginning and how their miscommunication affected Rose and how they apologised and grew and knew they needed to change.
also meeting Barry biological dad and how they are growing a relationship even though slighty rocky in the beginning but Wilfred is a sweetheart and is so kind and hoped Barry was happy and how he is understanding on Barrys wariness and is so patient. there is no redemption for the 'Murray siblings' mother, given how Barry has cut his Mum out , unlike Rose has done and that is very solidified as Barrys Mum does not even tell him the news of his parentage letting his siblings tell him.
I love Ruth as a MC as well as a side character and how she does want the best for her siblings and wanting them in her family she is now creating. It was hilarious her finding out Rose's secret due to the fact there were multiple times she was close to.
highly recommend this series.

Firstly huge thanks to the author for giving me the opportunity to read the eARC!
After reading the previous two books in this series and seeing snippets of Barry and Lila in them, I was so excited to meet them fully in their own story. And I suppose to get to know Rose too.
From the beginning I loved that Barry was such a super fan of Lila but for the best reasons. It was clear that they had potential to be something together from their first meeting (which was such a great 'meet cute' moment). They connected through the music and then further through getting to know each other, for Lila growing both her and Rose's relationships with Barry.
There were plenty of vulnerable moments throughout the book for both characters. And lots of sweet romance, with some added spice.
For Lila/Rose it was definitely a story of re-discovery. And for Barry I loved reading the culmination of his and his siblings' family relationship. I maintain that Ruth is my favourite of the siblings but I have enjoyed reading all the highs and lows of their family, working things out and growing together.
I will say one thing though, there were definitely some characters in this book who I hated on sight. They were written well as the villains... maybe a little too well for all the times I wanted to yell at my phone.
First, I would like to thank the author for giving me the chance to arc read this book. Movers and Shakers will release on 9/21, so it’s exciting!
Upon first reading the book, I was grateful that there was an author note detailing the themes and warnings that are in the book. It gives us a nice heads up to prepare taking some breaks when reading. While reading, I couldn’t put it down.
Are there spicy scenes? There are some spicy scenes and perfectly moderated. I just won’t say which chapters, that’s for you to find out.
The plot twists were perfectly timed and sometimes you couldn’t even see them coming. I literally would be gasping in horror/surprise at 3am when I came across them. Plus the talking to the non existent cameras whenever those plot twists arrived.
There is enough romance and fluff to go around and I think it’s nice that this story also brings in the others stories of the ML’s siblings. Giving us a nice view that even though they might be living separate lives that are going on at the same time, they have enough time to try and actually be family.
Chapters weren’t too long, each point of view was given a fair amount of ‘screen time.’ Romance, fluff, comfort, and I’d say even a bit of found family. It’s a great book in my opinion to keep you hooked.
4/5 ⭐️’s Thank you for Elle for the eARC! Movers and Shakers is out on 9/21.
Movers and Shakers can be read as a stand alone novel, but it is the third book in The Family Business series. This was my first time reading a book by this author and I really enjoyed it!
The author provides trigger warnings at the beginning of the novel and I’d recommend checking those out. One of my favorite parts of the book was reading about the reconciliation and healing that both characters experience within their respective families of origin. I think it was important that the author demonstrated how while some relationships can change, sometimes healing is only one sided and doesn’t always mean being in right relationship with someone. Sometimes walking away from a relationship, even if they’re related to you, is needed.
The plot line was super interesting to me and kept me on the edge of my seat! It felt like reading about a grown up Hannah Montana but in the best way.
Definitely check out book three when it releases next month! Thank you Elle and team for the arc in exchange for an honest review.
As someone who grew up on Hannah Montana and is obsessed with all things music, this book was everything I could ask for. We follow Rose who wants to live a normal life alongside her popstar lifestyle. To do this, she puts on a wig and transforms into Lila. When Lila finds her boyfriend with another girl she goes to Nashville to get a break and find herself again. During this time she bumps into Barry a bad owner who knows how to get her creative mind working again. Yet she knows she can't be with him like Lila, and when he meets her like Rose, too. She knows it won't be long before Barry and the internet discover her secret. I loved the chemistry between Barry and Lila/Rose. I liked how well they understood each other emotionally and were there for each other. This was a fun concept to read and I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Thank you to the author for giving me a free copy in return for an honest review.
this was a fun read, it was a better written and fleshed out book than the first but not on par with the second of the series! the secret identity was done well and in a way that didn’t feel cliche. it is unrealistic that they can continue their double lives without anyone finding out, but it allows them their happily ever after, so i’ll let it slide. i loved the development of the sibling relationships, especially barry and tom. i wish we got more of his relationship with wilfred, and even one final scene of him and his mum, where he tells her how he feels and that he can’t have her in his life anymore. despite this, i still feel this was one of elle rivers’ better written books.

4.25 stars. a perfect ending to the Murray family series. I wasn't sure how to feel about the whole thing of the fmc but it ended up being pretty cute. I didn't like the mom of the fmc and I mean we find out why she is the way she is but I just still found her selfish and unlikeable. I loved the mmc and he was such a sap for his girl and I am in love. definitely wouldn't just read this one, read force of nature + man of action to really understand some of the character behavior.
It really started to drag around the 50% mark. This book was way longer than it needed to be. Nothing truly happened for about 40% and I could get myself to focus on reading it anymore. Bit of a let down as I typically love all of Elle’s books.
I wasn’t a fan of both the MMC and FMC having the two relationships with each other. With her two identities I felt that it was dishonest on both their parts to have separate relationships depending on her identity at the time.

I loved this book so much . The whole secret identity was a fun twist . I honestly have no complaints I only wish it was longer . I need more of everything it was just so good.
This book was bad. I liked the first one and the second one and was hoping g for the 3rd one(this one) but I’m extremely disappointed. I skipped a lot of goes. The hole Hannah Montana set up didn’t do it for me and I took way too long and at the end there was even Nyx.
Nice read and unique concept. Also the fact that Blaze and Mia wee together the whole time and he still cheated on her with another woman. They got caught by her in her house on a blanket with her and Blaze’s face on it. I related to Barry family wise and I liked his growth with letting people in.

So lucky to be chosen as an ARC reader for this fab book. 📚 I love a romance with a HEA so I already knew this was for me, but it was so much more. I absolutely loved Lila & Barry's story. 🎤 Lila's double life and everything that came with it made this such a fun read. There was romance 💕 and spice 🌶️ and really love family dynamics and found family friendships 💜. Also some twists 🌀 & some unexpected revelations! It just really left me feeling warm and fuzzy. 5 ⭐ read and I definitely recommend. Add it to your KU TBR, don't delay!
I’m happy I gave this book a chance, I almost didn’t after Tom’s book. Gave wattpad a little with the whole storyline as a lot of it was a bit over the top but I still felt entertained.
The only one star I am deducting is because the book was a bit lengthy. But It was worth it. Elle closed all the stories properly and it was just awesome.
Overall I really enjoyed reading this book. It was a typical Hannah Montana move, because of course no one knows you with a wig and make up.. But when you know what you are about to read, that isn't too much of a problem. The family dynamics are broken in both the MC's families but they found their way despite the many problems of their lives. And Barry becoming the musician he always wanted to be was something you could predict from the very beginning of the book but was still wholesome to see him accomplish. Since I hated Lila's mother, the book can't be 5 stars, because it distraught my reading experience so much. But apart from that, it was a nice read without too much thinking needed :)

The only thing I did not like was the fact this came out after I got all the signed copies + bundle, I would have loved to have this one in my collection. I do with they would have gotten more into this story line, I feel as if Ruth + Knox got more, whereas these were just a wrap up. Do not get me wrong with the fact I enjoyed the book- I just wanted more.
I read it with my kindle since it was cheaper than purchasing one book via TikTok.
Favorite Quote – “You're the only one I'm like this with." she said, two voices somehow one. And I couldn't say it back because I was opening up to two women.
