Love on the Korlyan Moon

Rate this book
Kitaico

Taking a mate before I’m found worthy in my culture is punishable by death. When I rescue Lena, the human dropped from the sky, from the scripirat’s jaws I’m shocked that she accidentally takes my mating sting. I want to keep her, but know I’ll never be able to without completing my great proving—but will I be able to resist her as my venom pumps through her veins and forces her heats?

Lena

If I thought dancing in a plastic security bubble for extraterrestrial enjoyment was as weird as my life could get, taking a tentacle alien’s mating sting might top the list. Sure, he saved me from a watery grave, but these forced heats are getting harder and harder to deny. As much as he seems like a very nice alien, can I know my true feelings for him between this chemical confusion and the fact that we don’t even speak the same language?

Love on the Korlyan Moon is a very spicy alien romance novella that takes place on a distant moon in the bubbleverse. This book is a spinoff from the bubble babes series, but is a standalone. It features a language barrier, size difference, he falls first, tentacles, mating marks, forced heats, a human female tattoo artist FMC, and a virgin alien MMC who will do anything for his human mate. If you’re ready to dip your toes into tentacle spice, love a sweet inexperienced MMC, or just want to delve deeper into the world the bubble babes series started, this is for you! Includes a well earned HEA.

I don’t think I’ve read anything of Petra’s that I haven’t loved and this is no exception. Kitaico is literally the cutest MMC and you fall for him even before the FMC does. Plus…tentacles. You can’t go wrong with tentacles

Fast and easy read in the Bubble Babes universe!! The MCs are adorbs, especially Kitaico 😂. I love an MMC with a puppy vibe and he definitely has it. ✨

I'm a fan of forced proximity and this is forced proximity well done. I truly enjoyed that cozy but angsty ride and now I can't wait for the next Bubble Babes book ☺️

NB: The cover and character art made me believe that the FMC was BIPOC but she isn't... She's described as "pink-skinned" and has a Ukrainian grandma so... yeah she isn't. 😅

Exciting to get to explore another place in the Bubbles Babes world! I have been curious about the Korlyan Moon and the Andjin since they were mentioned in the BB books.

Sadly this one didn't hit like the Bubble Babes series did for me. I expected a quick romance and more insta-lust situations since it's a novella but it feels like all they talked about was sex. I wish we had more moments of the MCs getting to know each other outside of the mating heats and building up their relationship. I was really excited when I realized it would be a language barrier situation but a lot of their interactions were just too easy for me. There were parts where the conversation flowed as if they completely understood each other.

There's lots of tentacle action going on and I'm always here for that! The gladiator type competition towards the end was fun to read as well. I'm interested in finding out why the Deenz did what they did at the end. And if we'll have more interactions between Sontraful-6 and Korlyan Moon.

If you're looking for something similar to BB while you wait for the next book this is a good, spicy, quick read!

This is the second book I’ve read in the Bubble Babes universe and I urgently need to start the series from the beginning. But thankfully this is a standalone that’s easy to understand, even if you haven’t read the BB series!

A Midwestern Bubble Babe, Lena, has been serendipitously dropped by her captors onto the planet Korlyan Moon… straight into its ocean. As she sinks further in the water a curious yellow-skinned alien with tentacles on his head floats by and saves her.

Kitaico is currently living in isolation as part of his culture’s trials to prove himself worthy of a mate when he comes across Lena’s sinking bubble. He decides to keep Lena with him during his isolation until they can both return to the city.

The sloooooow burn in this was unexpected but it kept me reading and wanting more. The Midwestern cultural references had me kicking my feet and giggling. Kitaico is an unexpected cinnamon roll who is fiercely protective and yet so honorable. Morally white until his last breath- no matter how much he wants the opposite 😉

Surprisingly wholesome for a story that starts with the FMC almost dying. A handsome, almost always naked, yellow, tentacled alien trying to be worthy of his mate AND there’s a language barrier. I loved this story whole-heartedly!

Love on the Kolryan Moon was an alien romance I devoured.  With forced proximity and a language barrier, this story was so much fun.  When Kitaico rescued Lena, I loved watching how brave, kind, and protective he was.  His translator chip had been turned off, since he was in the process of proving that he was worthy of a mate.  So while Lena could understand him, he couldn’t understand her.  Watching them try and figure each other out, to even communicating about basic necessities was hilarious and also heartwarming.

Kitaico was so sweet and patient, while he tried his best to take care of all of Lena’s needs.  We alternated the story between the two of them, and I loved both of their thoughts.  As they started to form a friendship and find trust, the tension between them was palpable.  When they finally crossed that line, I loved Kitaico’s filthy mouth and the detailed steamy scenes!  This book ended with a wonderful happily ever after that made me so happy!  If you’re looking for a new scifi romance to read, or love forced proximity, or steamy alien moments, definitely add this one to your tbr!

***ARC Review***
I really enjoyed this novella expanding on the Bubble Babes world! I absolutely loved Kitaico, he is such a sweet cinnamon roll of an alien and I don’t think we get to see much of that in alien romances so that was really refreshing. I didn’t think I’d like the tentacle aspect so much, but I’m fully on board that train now! Petra really did the language barrier trope justice and I love her take on having the FMC being able to understand the MMC but him not able to understand her. I honestly loved this book, it was paced really well, the characters were so loveable and fun to read, the story was great and could definitely standalone without having to have read the other Bubble Babes books.
Since this is a novella and marketed as having “heat inducing venom” I definitely thought that it would’ve been all smut and the relationship between the two main characters would’ve moved really fast, but that wasn’t the case and I really wasn’t disappointed that it wasn’t what I thought it was going to be. Considering their situation, the relationship between the FMC and MMC moves at a normal pace and there is a healthy balance of story and smut.
I loved Kitaicos and Lena’s story and I never ever want Petra Palerno to stop writing because I’m addicted to her stories!

Just got back from a quick trip to Korlyan Moon. 😉

If you are waiting for the next installment of Bubble Babes, this book keeps you entertained.

We are quickly introduced to our couple to be. From the start only one can understand the other. Through the read the pair learns to find creative ways to communicate, work together, face their fears and feelings.

Naturally it doesn't take much to love them. Kitaico is present and effortlessly charming. Lena is witty and adapts quickly.

The supporting characters had time to shine whether it was good or bad. With their interactions being short, I was left wanting another book (or two) to see what happens to them after Kitaico and Lena's story end.

Without giving much away, the book was a great layover while we wait for the next book. You can easily read in one sitting.

ARC review!

What a fun spinoff in the Bubble Babes universe! I love a good language barrier story, and enjoyed how the characters navigated that obstacle to their relationship. Actually it was fun to watch the characters navigate all the barriers and hardships thrown their way. I felt like their relationship developed naturally, despite the whoopsie-doodle mating venom plot. Their being together in the end felt hard-won and well-deserved, and I was rooting for them the whole way.

If I had to quibble, I wish that the MCs had gotten the opportunity to discuss Lena's past experience with aliens, as it seemed to have influenced her actions with Kitaico at the beginning of their relationship. I would've liked some closure there.

I liked getting to explore more of the Bubble Babes worlds. This one was a bit different which I did enjoy. I liked Kitaico and his unique features a lot. This one primarily resolved around mating and the mating sting which is fine I just want to see them get to know each other more. This is a fast paced, insta lust, language barrier, forced proximity, accidental mating bond story. Although mating is discusses a lot the heat index is pretty low. Definitely a fun novella to kick off a new Bubble Babes universe series. I'm excited to see what comes next!

Cute. Easy to read. Low stakes. But I think I got just a bit bored cause it was very predictable and it was not much I could look forward too. But still a cute story, in the author’s fashion, just a guilty pleasure for us readers.

Kitaico rescues Lena after she accidentally mates herself to him (oops 😅). Now she’s stuck fighting her heat-driven attraction while trying to figure out if her feelings are real—or just the result of the mating sting. Meanwhile, Kitaico is ready to move mountains to prove himself worthy of keeping her.

This one is a spinoff from Palerno’s Bubble Babes series, but it totally works as a standalone. As a mood reader, I sometimes just crave cozy smut, and alien romances always hit the spot. This book was exactly what I needed. Kitaico was sweet as pie (seriously, cinnamon-roll alien vibes 💙), and Lena didn’t resist for an obnoxiously long time—thank goodness. The angst stayed light (although, it did get dicey there for a minute 👀), and the plot had just enough oomph to keep things interesting without weighing the story down.

Narration was on point—Ada Sinclair and Nelson Hobbs brought Lena and Kitaico to life perfectly.

Overall? This was a fun, feel-good listen that scratched my alien-romance itch. I enjoyed it a lot!🚀✨👽

Petra Palerno has a knack at making her characters lovable while telling an interesting story. I loved this book, the protective instinct of the hero is rather endearing. I thought the second half got a little tedious, yet kept me interested to learn how it ended.

love on the korlyan moon de petra palerno

Argumento:

Lena

🌶️🌶️🌶️

This was an ARC read, however my opinions are my own! May contain spoilers so read at your own risk! <3

So I am a fan of the Bubble Babes series but even outside of that I had been anticipating this book since I first saw the initial sketch for this book! I don't know what it was that made me so excited for these two just by looks alone but here we are!

I DEVOURED these 200 pages in a span of two days (only because I desperately needed sleep lol)

It read so smoothly and was fast paced, but slow enough to not give you whiplash.
Kitaico was an absolute cinnamon roll of an Alien and I really felt happy for Lena that she got out of the Deenz' hands and into the care of such a loving lil guy. (He, in fact, is not a lil guy)

While there is a communication barrier, it wasn't frustrating or annoying. You could argue that some conversations went a little too smooth but for my personal tastes, it was a welcome change to how these language barriers are usually handled. (If the miscommunication trope has 0 haters, I am dead)

While yes, obviously, this book is very schmexy and they talk about the birds and the bees (or should I say the pearls and the peens....It's okay, I'll see myself out) I did enjoy the moments of them just getting to know each other and experiencing each other like when Lena draws and he just watches her, and getting to know her in turn. I feel like them getting to know each other was more show than tell in this book, as Kitaico seems very attentive to Lena the way he acts and tends for her. People who rather see this written out and on screen, so to speak, might be left wanting but me personally I loved it since it was still believable enough.

The later chapters had me a little nervous for our sunshine Alien even though I knew it was gonna be HEA. The tension was still there which I don't often experience with Novellas.

Meeee personally, I loved the moments we got to see between Lena and Yissku. Idk but I love when the fmc gets to have some girl time/talk apart from just their mate.

The thing that made me squeal with joy was the inclusion of queerness. It was very casually mentioned and obviously not a big plot point or anything but for most sci-fi/pnr/monrom I have read, this is not at all the norm and they're usually all male must be with female, no other way. I know this comes with the territory but my, did it make my queer heart happy to read that m/m and f/f love-stories are canon to this moon.

All in all, I wholeheartedly recommend this to anyone who is, like me, desperately waiting for the last Bubble Babes book or just in want of a sweet and quick Alien romance or really just anyone that is intrigued by the cover and thinks to pick it up for that alone (I have been there, but this one is worth it)

Now if you'll excuse me, I have places to be, people to meet, things to see! (I will be daydreaming about romancing a beautiful beautiful alien woman with tentacles, thank you very much)

xoxo Mietzi

Gleeful Goblin Review: I have loved every single book from this author and this one was no exception. The author has such an approachable and conversational writing style that I find it easy and relaxing to get swept away by each story. There's always a ton of humor involved but not flippantly; it's used to balance harsh realities of life.....like díck tentacles. I dare you to read those two words and not snicker JUST A LITTLE. "My travels as a bubble babe through space have proved that kindness isn’t universal. I’m lucky that someone like Kitaico rescued me. As he works, his back flexes, his muscles and lines are so close to that of a human body. It makes me wonder if maybe we share some distant ancestor. I mean, minus the head and díck tentacles. What if the eccentrics on ancient aliens aren’t too off the mark? Should I worry about what the elders of his people want to do with me? Probably. But I find myself unconcerned. If Kitaico treats me so kindly, surely his people are good."

And here's the thing, Kitaico IS SO SWEET. He's absolutely a Consent King and I was thrilled with how these characters navigated consent despite one person having a language barrier. There's a series of heats the FMC has to go through and that the couple have to navigate while working around that language barrier and I love how that was handled. Consent was something that was checked in on at so many points and language barrier or not this reads like a "How Enthusiastic Consent Should Go". Add in the back and forth that happens with the "unruly brothers" in various scenes and I couldn't stop smiling.

This is a standout alien romance that I could not put down if I TRIED. An instant fave and added to my repeat read rotation. 5/5 Stars

“Maybe it’s not the venom…maybe Kitaico is just a fucking gem.”

This is a prequel novel for the Bubble Babes universe. Lena is the first Bubble Babe to arrive on Kitaico’s planet, and he’s not sure what to make of her, and she accidentally mates herself to him. Whoops. Except not because we all dig it.

I was down for this adventure on page one. To be honest, I was had at tentacles. And then there’s this really sweet story of Lena and Kitaico that are toeing the line of what’s acceptable for his culture while his mating sting works like an aphrodisiac on her and he tries to remain the consent king he is. The tension is delicious. Also, Guion :(.

Guion is the minor character we were all rooting for. Also, tenta-peen is for the win.

For this next book in the Bubble Babes universe we are going off world from Sontafrul 6 to its moon. Lena’s bubble is dropped into the Korlyan moon’s ocean and Kitaico saves her. Kitaico is in the midst of the Great Proving to prove he can provide for a mate so he’s been building a nest and filling it with anything his mate could need, and he brings her there. During this great proving time his translator chip is turned off and he’s using only the most basic tools. He doesn’t know what Lena is sayin, so they do struggle to communicate which is a really fun microtrope I like in alien romance lol Kitaico is in awe of the little human and does his best to protect & care for her, but a little mishap has Lena becoming his mate and things get a little complicated. Not wanting to ruin his chances of being worthy, Kitaico decides to wait until this portion of the Great Proving is over before bringing Lena to the capital to sort out their mess. Kitaico is so freaking sweet and basically just an adorable little naive baby that wants to provide for his mate. His blind devotion is so endearing you cant help but laugh 🤣 Lena goes through “heats” because of the mating sting and they struggle not to consummate their mating BUT they do plenty of other things and Lena learns what all his tentacles can do 😏😏😏 I LOVED this book and this new location for the Bubble Babes universe There’s tons of potential for more story lines and I hope Petra will give us more tentacle daddies in the future!!It’s hilarious, so sweet, and so hot. I’m a huge fan of the Bubbleverse and I couldn’t love this more!🫶

3.0 🌶️ on the spice scale.
Genre: sci-fi erotica, Alien Romance
POV: Duel
Ending: HEA
Book is part of the Bubbleverse

This was such a sweet and quick read! Kitaico is an absolute cinnamon roll and the perfect doting partner with Lena. An absolute master of consent even with the language barrier and despite the venom induced heat that leaves Lena absolutely desperate he holds out and waits until she's ready and wins her love. Even for such a short book the world building is filled with lovely imagery and the side characters are all likeable. I can't wait to read what happens next in the Bubbleverse!

TW/CW
Alien abduction, fear of drowning, drowning discussed, human trafficking discussed, SA mentioned, forced heat, chaffing, needles, stinging, tattooing, fangs, poison, restraints, alien culture discussion on honor suicide, violence, dismemberment, kidnapping, tattooing, pregnancy (epilogue), xenophobia regarding humans, hand to hand combat, death, graphic sexual content including masturbation, oral, penetrative sex, tentacle sex, anal sex, and double penetration.

My Spice Rating - 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

2 🌶️🌶️ - Spice happens, but it isn't often. May include open door scenes but they're infrequent or rare.
3 🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Spice happens more often and it is more detailed, Spice is part of the plot, or the book is 50/50 spice to plot.
4 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - More spice than plot, may contain kinky themes.
5 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ - Absolute smut. Very little plot, sex heavy. The spicy scenes are very explicit, may contain triggering or dangerous themes, Dark romances and erotica.

This is the first book I have read from the Bubbles Babes series. I liked the world-building, especially as it opened the door for me to read the previous books to learn about other worlds of the BB. We have Lena, who falls on Korlyan Moon in a life-or-death situation, thinking it would be her end. Kitaico appears, saving her. From there, an accidental mating occurs because Lena touches the Mating sting. From then on, the plot revolves around preventing the mating, with the rest of the storyline taking a back seat. I would have liked the main characters to get to know each other a bit more, although there was a language barrier, but they managed to understand each other on many occasions. I really liked the character of Kitaico, a devoted alien who did everything possible to make Lena comfortable and prove his honor to her. The integration of the whole gladiator theme was quite interesting, especially adding suspense to find out what happened.

Although there is a lot of talk about sex between the characters due to the heat, there isn't much spice, although I quite enjoyed the part with the tentacles, especially how Kitaico named his two tentacles located near his pelvic area "the brothers." This novel left open the possibility for another book in this BB series.

4.5 star book. Rounded up to 5 stars.

Lena is a human captive whose bubble, in which she is trapped, is sinking into the ocean. Kitaico is out hunting, for his nest that he is building, when he comes upon her and rescues her from drowning.

He realizes that she doesn’t have gills and takes her to the surface. She tries to thank him but his translator chip has been turned while he proves himself worthy of a mate. However, she can understand him. And that helps them communicate slightly with each other.

Lena is traumatized from her time as a Bubble Babe. But she begins to trust Kitaico and even his “alieness” has become alluring.

I really enjoyed this alien romance. I always love them trying to learn to communicate. And how they overcome their differences. Watching Kitaico take care of Lena and learn how to best do that was so heartwarming. And watching Lena support Kitaico and learn to trust and love him even after she was originally abducted by aliens (different species) was really fun to read.

They fought for each other through the toughest times and made you want to root for them and their relationship. I really enjoyed reading this. And am so looking forward to more in this series.
