The islanders are up to the high doh. Scotland’s popular reality game show, Game of Trust, is being filmed at Vik Castle and two of their own are taking part. Will the “Saviours” team help them survive, or will the “Murderers” team eliminate them first?
When Sergeant Wilson receives intelligence that the international art thief, Shoogledy Jack, has infiltrated the game in order to steal Laird Hamish’s valuable painting, she commandeers Losers Club to help her unmask the villain. Sending some of their number in undercover seems like an excellent idea…until a contestant is eliminated in the most gruesome fashion, leaving behind a trail of conflicting stories and half-truths.
With the remaining contestants locked in the castle and unable to communicate with the outside world, loyalties become strained as the Losers battle to solve the murder, find the thief and stop PC “Easy” Piecey eating all the good chocolate biscuits. If they are all to survive the night, Saviours and Murderers must work together in this ultimate Game of Trust.
As a child, I loved reading. I spent my life with my nose in a book and, when finally forced back into the real world, I wrote poetry and stories. My hero was Pam Ayres and all I wanted to be when I grew up was a librarian, so that I could be around books all the time.
Of course, life takes you on different paths. Somehow, writing poems and stories got lost along the way. I was too busy partying in London through my twenties then being a mum through my thirties and forties. But on an August morning in 2018, at the tender age of forty-eight, I decided to create a blog on Facebook. Ten minutes later, Growing Old Disgracefully was born and the love of writing came flooding back. Encouraged by my lovely readers, I finally got off my lazy behind, put fingers to keyboard and wrote my first book, The Big Blue Jobbie, then another, and another.
Once more, I have a head full of stories and I can’t wait to tell them to you.
Another fabulous book from the absolute delight that is Yvonne Vincent. If you haven't read all "The losers club" series , do yourself a favour. Start at the beginning. That way the huge surprise in this classic mystery will be a huge surprise. Plus, if you don't read from the start the characters will make absolutely no sense at all. But before you read book one of "The losers club" read " Frock in hell" And then after you've finished all the novels, read "the big blue jobbie" books one and two.
Another great book from a beautiful and talented author. Book no 8 follows on from No.7...you can read them as stand alones but I would highly recommend that they are read as a whole series...It was weird because there was a slightly different dynamic but it still a very entertaining and funny story. My only complain is that it ended. Many thanks once again, Yvonne 😊❤ 5*
I do love Eileen. We get insight into Sandra Next Door, and Sgr Wilson. I was missing Penny though. I'm not sure if the art thief got away with the painting though, and if so, he is a great actor. The farce of a reality show was hilarious. The Loser's need to stay away from the castle, things always go sideways. I laughed my way through the first half of the book. The second half is much more complicated, so out on your detective caps.
It was fun just like the rest of the series. I missed Penny. Sargent is getting a bit over the top, I don’t like the nicknames she has for the group, some are downright insulting. By now she should be a more integral part of the group, she clearly cares about them.
EXCELLENT - from the first page to the last. As usual, the plot is logical with twists on would not expect and laugh out loud humour (embarrassing when on public transport, but good for getting extra space as everyone moves away from you).
This was one of the best in the series. Kept licking along at speed, building the drama without losing the humour. Finished too soon as I was enjoying it so much. You have to read this book!
Thoroughly enjoyed reading about the gang. A bit of a twist but won't spoil it for others. Well done, Yvonne. I don't know where you get all your ideas from, but carry on making us laugh.
The losers club and sergeant Wilson solving murders. Mayhem follows them. You get to like the characters as they are the same throughout all the books. Very easy reading laughable moments .
Love this series of the Losers Club. This is the eighth book which has some twists to the lives of the “losers” Looking forward to the next book in the series.
I absolutely love this series, it's a good mixture of light-hearted fun and a who done it, without being too dark and heavy. can not recommend highly enough.
The characters are fabulous and watching them grow with each book just draws you in more.
