So much of Texas here .. loved that. The first 60% was 5 star but the last part skewed that some.
I will keep this to reread and appreciate living in TX.
Sunny and her twin sister, Cass, are great as is Leo the rescued dog.

I am a sucker for twins so this was my favorite part. He is a gorgeous dud who thinks in cliches and jumps to conclusions too quickly, not my fave hero ever; her character is better flushed out, she is endearing with her insecurities and her tough "i dont need help" act and the panic attacks. I loved the chili theme, her joint is the kind of homey dive I would love. Here is a reason why I have not rated this book more than 3 stars, which is that the author's analogies are ludicrous, here judge for yourself: "His hand went under her t-shirt and stroked her breast. Lord, was she sitting on the stove? Was it on? She was on fire." There was another good one: "He didn't seem happy to be there, like he would rather be passing a kidney stone." Oh, and that Outlaw and the Senator stuff is goofy too.
