DAMN-. I mean I did get embarrassed at first but it was amazingly funny and stupidly cute. The E-sport part was mid, but whenever they explain details about the game, I just lock in, I didn't know I was gonna enjoy it, cause I thought I'd be fed a huge amount of dog food, but it was a fun read. And if you read this you'd definitely pronounce Yu Zhaohan your son, he's so special to me ahhh~~>
My favorite thing was just how outspoken he is with Shi Du, and how he can rely on him, even tho it's funny how he's always wanting to *review* either their kissing or sex session. Also how they took the fact that they're gay, Lmao, that's literally my favorite thing lol.
This was more of a fluffy romance than esports novel, so take that as you will.
I loved Yu Zhaohan's whole team and Yu Zhaohan in general. He's such an honest airhead lol. Shi D was also great, and I liked how unabashedly honest they were with each other as they navigated their feelings and started a relationship together.
However, my main complaint was about how the tone changed to be nationalistic and xenophobic anytime the RH team encountered foreigners or foreign teams. Every foreign team had moral or ethical problems or were unbearably arrogant, but none of the other Chinese teams had that issue. Every other Chinese team was still nice and polite after losing to RH.
There was also this underlying tone about how only winning with an entire Chinese team roster was super amazing and awesome, showing how transferring to other countries' teams was not as good as staying in your home country. After a while, it started ruining my reading experience, but I wanted to see Yu Zhaohan continue to pretend, so I kept reading lol.
this was silly and cute, more slice of life than esports-focused. i think this is a good intro to the esports genre as there isn't much gaming technical terms, and the gameplay is very easy to understand. very sweet and fluffy!
