Shadows #3

Shadows on the River

Rate this book
I was only fourteen when I witnessed a murder on the riverbank.

A murder that went unpunished. Unless you count what happened to my family. We were forced out of town by the teenaged killer's prominent parents. And the murder was forgotten--by everyone but me. Now, the killer is a respected businessman.

I can't let him get away with it. But I'm a single mother with a child to protect, what can I do? The new man in my life, Mark Bishop, warns me to be careful. For there's already been another murder. Close to home.

I grew up near the coast in New Jersey, and it was there that my love of the ocean was nurtured. I married a Canadian and have lived in Canada ever since - well, actually, I have lived in three countries: the U.S., Canada and for a short stint - Taiwan.

I hope you enjoy my books.

Allison Rourke witnessed the murder of her best friend, Tracy, when she was 13. When she told her family that Larry Fremont had pushed Tracy off the river bridge to her death and her parents told the police, she was not believed. Larry's powerful family, owner of the coal mine and main employer of the town had it covered up, Allison portrayed as crazy and her family ostracized. They moved away and tried to get Allison to forget it. When Allison hears, 25 years later, of another suspicious death of someone associated to Larry, she is determined to see justice done. A new colleague and potential love interest, Mark Bishop, also has a grudge against Larry and works with her to bring out the truth. Another average inspirational suspense romance, but with an interesting twist. Allison has a deaf 8 year old daughter and their interaction was very interesting.

Shadows
Book 3

Again, this is an independent book series. There are three books in this series, but they are related simply by the "Shadows" in the title. There are no related characters in these books, so they should be considered "stand alone."

In this book, single mom, Ally, is haunted by a murder from her past. The sixteen year old boy responsible for killing her friend got off scott free, and she has never recovered from it. She's now raising a special needs child and has become good friends with Mark.

I love this series because the author has blessed me over and over with surprises. She has a way of writing things that you did not see coming, and there are some things I didn't see coming....The romance, again, was the sub-plot, but enjoyed the story between Mark and Ally.
