The text on each page is set against gorgeous photographs, and the variety in font not only adds visual interest, but also helps point out the main point in each narrative. The book is comprised entirely of Scripture readings (NKJV), taken from the Gospels, and it includes a CD with an audio recording of the narratives. I love how the selected passages give us a glimpse into the life of Christ. Each reading has a piano music background, and ambient sounds can also be heard, such as the gentle splashing of waves on the shore for passages where Christ was speaking from a boat or along the coast. Female lines are read by women, and the male lines are read by different men, helping the listener be able to distinguish the speakers by the sound of their voice. It is a nice way to experience the Scriptures. The audio recording is 70 minutes long, making this a short book, but worthy of your time.

I bought the book because Jim Caviezel is one of my favorite actors. What better way to hear the words of Jesus spoken. Unfortunately there is piano music in the background, or I should say foreground, because the music overwhelms the spoken words.
What were they thinking when they thought this was in anyway a good idea?
This could have been 5 stars but I'm afraid I have to give just one star.
