I love this series but don't worry, this is a stand alone read. This book is about Roscoe and Libby and trying to stop a gunman who seems to be after Libby. Many close calls and the bad guys finding them too many times makes them question who they can trust. The characters are well written and you want things to work out for them - especially for Libby who is very pregnant and has lost so many family members. If you like figuring out "who done it", lots of action and suspense along with complex characters - and a touch of romance, you want to read this book.

Action packed adventure
Libby is driving to Milwaukee and the father of her unborn baby, Roscoe, the undercover cop who had arrested her brother. She had come home in Texas to find her apartment trashed and a knife stuck in her kitchen table, so she turned to Roscoe for protection. But as soon as she gets to his house, a truck that was following her fired on them both. From that moment on, they are struggling to stay one step ahead of those who want to kill them. Can they manage to stay alive long enough to figure out why this is all happening?
The pace is breakneck and the tone is intense with an action and character oriented storyline that has a few kisses. The characters are vivid and engaging. The Christian ideals are shown through prayer and the attitudes of both characters. This is book 5 in this series, but if you really want to read the Milwaukee cop books all in order, read the Top SWAT Cops series (or something like that) by Laura Scott in order. Then read Callahan Confidential series in order, then Finnegan First Responders series in order and then this one in order. If you like breathtaking action in your Christian suspense romances then these are for you. Plan on being blown away! Enjoy!

Surprise!
Libby arriving on his doorstep, followed by gunmen shooting at her is the last thing Roscoe ever expected....but the gift she brings with her steals his breath. She is the only woman he has ever loved, she rejected him, ripping out both their hearts. But she's here, on his doorstep and this is his chance to not only prove he loves her, but also possibly win her heart.
Libby blames Roscoe for everything, her brother's incarceration, his death, the men hunting her....but she couldn't be more wrong. I really like Roscoe and have throughout this series, but here he really impresses me, he admits his part in her brother's incarceration, but when they finally see the complete picture, he doesn't point out just how wrong Libby was, that she punished the wrong person for her brother's choices.
This is a great listen on Audible, I have enjoyed getting to know all of Rhy's team and look forward to the rest of the series.

Awesome read, possibly the best so far. I love books where there is a surprise baby, so that added to the book. Loved Roscoe and Libby. The book had non stop action and drama, and plenty of bad guys. I do wish the author had given away the gender of the baby, but guess we will find out that in another book. :)

I loved Roscoe and Libby's story. It had non stop action and danger with bad guys coming after Roscoe and Libby. Oh, there's a surprise baby, but we have to wait and see what the gender will be. The plot was well-written and drew me straight in, the characters were great and had to clear the air between them., and there were tension and danger. A recommended read , for sure.

Roscoe is the featured team member from the Finnegan responders group. It quickly pours into the storyline with Libby, ,Roscoe's ex-girlfriend from Texas appearing at his home in Milwaukee. It's unexpected as is her pregnancy. To top it off she is being followed by a Cartel member who is trying to kill her. Good suspense and family plot. Enjoy!

I enjoyed listening to this next installment in Laura Scott’s Oath of Honor series. There is a bit of predictability in these and that so far in each one someone is in danger and they end up hiding out with someone they love or grow to love.
