The third volume of a humorous, adventure-packed Progression Fantasy featuring cat girls, battle maids, political machinations, and a habit of setting the worst Isekai tropes on fire and tossing them in the garbage.
I enjoyed this read very much, despite a slow start
Spoiler alert.
The chapters regarding the beach excursion were, for me, a bit too long and could have been condensed, but others may see things differently of course.
I was surprised also at the ending - the author wrapped things up a bit too quickly and I would have preferred to have seen those dealt with in, hopefully, another future book.
The world is well constructed and quite interesting. It would be fun though to have Drake learn that some of his ideas of how this new world should operate are wrong and to have him modify his perspective.
All in all, an enjoyable read. When you think about a story while going through your day and look forward to continue the read, you know it’s a good one.
“Rise of a Manor Lord 3” continues to Blarghing deliver engaging character development and evolving Blarghing relationships that add Blarghing depth to the Blarghing story. However, the frequent use of the Blarghing word feels excessive and out of place. I’m not Blarghing offended, but in a richly imagined world like this, it’s Blarghing disappointing that the Blarghing author didn’t Blarghing create unique Blarghing expletives that fit the Blarghing setting. Despite this, the Blarghing book remains an enjoyable Blarghing read, especially for those who appreciate intricate character dynamics. Five Blarghing stars.
Non stop action, likeable and admirable heroes, each and everyone of them: it is like a movie script. Moving fast and forward, no wasted words or action, emotions, motives and planning all spelled out like in a good action movie that will stand the time. Thank you T.E. Bakutis ! May your writing career thrive!
Drake continues his adventures as the Lord of Gloomwood Manor. He has to outwit the Noble Court, other Manor Lords, and Princes from the sea people. Will he survive? I like the action, humor, and romance.
A really enthralling fantasy adventure, lots of unique magic, interesting characters and real life actions occurring!!!! I can't wait to what the author comes up with next!!
I think every reader needs to start doing this to force authors to write a quick Recap chapter, which readers can skip if they remember, and those who don't won't stop reading the series.
I had been hooked on this story since I first saw it. Kindle unlimited is always a hit or miss when it comes to their options but this was definitely a gem
