Lasting Threads is the story of a friendship between an Irish Catholic boy, Sean, and a Jewish boy, Michael, in postwar Montreal. The friends drift apart after university and do not meet again for 45 years. They come together at a class reunion where Michael makes a dramatic speech that foretells the melancholic end to the story.
