For more than 25 years, Vietnam has been one of the most dynamic countries in the world in terms of GDP growth, trade, investment, and other business metrics. The key question is whether or not the country can continue this growth for another 25 years. SAM KORSMOE is an American who has lived and worked in Vietnam for 20 years as a journalist, writer, teacher, entrepreneur and published author. He speaks Vietnamese and wrote his Master’s thesis on the Doi Moi reforms.

Đầu năm chọn đọc muốn cuốn sách lạc quan một cách khách quan nào :)
Cuốn sách đã được dịch sang tiếng Việt với tựa " Việt Nam: Ngôi sao đang lên của châu Á", được viết bởi 2 chuyên gia kinh tế nước ngoài có thời gian sống và nghiên cứu hàng chục năm ở Việt Nam.
Sách chủ yếu dành cho người nước ngoài tìm hiểu khái quát về đặc điểm dân cư, địa chính trị, kinh tế và tiềm năng của Việt Nam trở thành một con rồng kinh tế trong tương lai gần không. Nhưng cũng rất hữu ích cho người trẻ Việt Nam muốn hiểu thêm về đất nước.
Và những bạn sinh viên cũng rất nên đọc cuốn sách này để học cách trình bày một nghiên cứu khoa học định tính tiêu chuẩn :) . Sách là sự kết hợp hài hòa của đảm bảo cấu trúc nghiên cứu khoa học xã hội với diễn giải dễ hiểu, hấp dẫn cho người đọc phổ thông. Nghiên cứu so sánh Việt Nam với mô hình phát triển của Hàn Quốc, Đài Loan (Trung Quốc) bằng một bộ tiêu chí rõ ràng và đa chiều, kèm theo các ca điển hình minh chứng rõ hơn các lập luận.

I will visit Ho Chi Minh City in a couple months and wanted to learn a bit about the country’s economy. I found this book easy to read and relatively engaging. It accomplished the task I hoped it would. Not overly deep and academic, but offering a broad view of the economy sprinkled with a little about Vietnam culture, geography and politics.

toi cũm hem hiểu với cuốn sách rất khoa học với giả thuyết luận chứng logic mà lại làm toi rưng rưng vcl mún nghẹt mũi. đọc xong thật sự thêm 1 bullet point vào lí do để sống tiếp - để coi coi dự báo có thành sự thật hong, con số năm sẽ là bao nhiêu và đến ngày ấy chính mình sẽ cảm ơn mình long trọng cỡ nào.

Tựa Việt: Ngôi sao đang lên của châu Á
Dễ chịu, khéo léo, vẫn có phần thẳng thắn của những ông Tây
Nhưng mình đã ước nó sâu hay hay wow hơn, và uhm đọc xong thì thực lòng hơi tâm tư ở chỗ VN không có một lợi thế gì quá rõ ràng ngoài ừ, lại tinh thần chống giặc
ngoài ra dù nói giảm nói tránh rồi nhưng cảm giác là các tác giả không hài lòng lắm về vấn đề tham nhũng và bộ máy
