Kept me interested from start to finish. Great story.

pretty much a biography journal of one of the white women given to the Cheyanne indians as a bride in exchange for 1000 horses, a plan by Ulysses Grant as president to foster harmony between the indians and the white man. Interesting depiction of life on the praire. The program is true and the journal is also the real journal of May Dodd who willingly signed up for the program in order to escape an aslyum. She was confined there by her family for "promiscuity" because she lived out of wedlock with her lover. Strange story
