Many Christians assume that heaven is a place of unbroken peace and harmony, beauty and worship. This may well be true of the third heaven, but it does not apply to the first and second heavens. Some Scriptures paint a very different picture of what is currently going on in the second heaven. As already stated, it is at times the scene of great conflict between warring angels—some serving God and others serving Satan. It is primarily in the heavenly regions that such conflict takes place.
It is here, too, that Satan pours out a stream of slanderous accusations against the Christians on earth who are serving the Lord. In Revelation 12:10, he is described by an angel as the “accuser of our brethren, who accused them before our God day and night.”
This Scripture goes on to predict that Satan will be cast down from heaven. But until this happens, it is clear that he still continues to occupy a place somewhere in the heavenlies and that he is filling the air with malicious accusations against God’s people.
A verse that follows is a warning to earth’s inhabitants as to what they may expect when the devil is ultimately cast down from heaven to earth: “Woe to the inhabitants of the earth and the sea! For the devil has come down to you, having great wrath, because he knows that he has a short time” (Revelation 12:12).
The place of intercession was looked at extensively.
The Role of Intercession:
What excites me most about the incidents recorded in Daniel 10:1-4 is that the ministry of intercession played a decisive role. Heaven did not move until Daniel prayed. Heaven’s angels could not get through until Daniel prayed them through. But that demanded persistence. If we are praying a prayer that does not get answered immediately, it may not be because our prayer is not in the will of God. It may be because there is a satanic prince up in the heavenlies standing in the way of the answer. So what do we have to do? Pray him out of the way! Daniel did not leave the initiative with the enemy. He himself chose the battleground of prayer. When confronted with opposition, he persisted. Sometimes opposition from Satan is one of the best indications that we are praying in the will of God.
Any believer who gives himself to the ministry of intercession needs to be a diligent student of biblical prophecy because this is the primary basis of all truly effective prayer.
Effective praying tests our character. It demands single-hearted commitment.
Other exciting questions touched in the book include:
•What is the reason for all the conflict in our world?
•Have we accepted as normal something that is abnormal?
•Why are there wars?
•Why are there struggles, strife and disputes?
•Does Scripture give us any clear explanation of a real cause for all this conflict?
•Did it have a beginning and will it always be so?
The Bible teaches that all Christians must be prepared to encounter conflict and warfare in the spiritual realm.
The Christian life is not just sweetness and harp music; every committed Christian will find warfare to be part of his total experience.
It is a book worth studying!

First of all, do not be confuse Derek Prince with Joseph Prince, the Singapore megachurch pastor. Peter Derek Vaughan Prince (1915-2003) was a great Bible teacher whose daily radio programme, Derek Prince Legacy Radio, is broadcast around the world in various languages even now. The radio has existed before the exposure of social media mind you. I see Derek Prince as impactful and effective as David Pawson, another Bible teacher that I admire so much. Both of them are anointed Bible teachers and have the gift of explaining the Scriptures in a clear, depth and simple way. You can find their teachings online such as in YouTube, podcast and their websites. Derek, who was born in India of British parents and died in Jerusalem peacefully, has helped build a foundation of faith in millions of lives including mine. What makes Derek different from other teachers, in my opinion, is that he emphasis greatly on the spiritual sides of the Christian life. He is sound in theology but he sees more than mere theology – the victory of Christ over all things seen and unseen.

I’m a little torn on how to rate this book. It was easy to read, had study questions and I learned a lot of useful applications to my life as a Christian. However, there were several spots where I thought the material was mostly conjecture and inference presented as biblical fact. What I found most interesting is that the most impactful things I personally got from this book were about practical steps to implement in my daily life, not grand revelations about the spiritual realm. It was worth the read for me, but it may not be everybody’s cup of tea.

Another excellent, insightful book by one of my all-time favorite authors! Derek Prince was truly a man of God whose anointed books and sermons have outlived him. Thanks be to God!

Almost all of earth’s inhabitants have some impression of heaven. Many Christians assume that heaven is a place of unbroken peace and harmony, beauty and worship. The Bible teaches that all Christians must be prepared to encounter conflict and warfare in the spiritual realm. “You cannot live like other people. You have a special calling. You have special responsibilities. You are set apart, just as a soldier is set apart to a special way of life.” Lucifer’s heart was lifted up in pride because of his beauty and this was the reason that he was cast out of the mountain of God. It is vitally important for all of us to realize that the first sin in the universe was not murder, not adultery, but rather PRIDE.
How quickly and easily, as God’s servants, we tend to forget that every success in our ministry should prompt us to self-humbling in response to God’s unmerited favor! Self-humbling is an issue of the will, not of the emotions. “Lord, I choose to humble myself before You. I renounce pride, arrogance and personal ambition before You and before my fellow believers”. The place that God’s Word has in our lives is the place that God Himself has. The same honor and respect that we owe to God, we owe to His Word. We do not love God more than we love His Word. The test of our relationship to God is our attitude toward His Word. Your attitude toward God’s Word determines your relationship with God.

“A cosmic view of God's plan-from start to finish! The Bible says that when God laid the foundations of the earth, the angels were watching. In time, one of those angels would be the main player in a rebellion to wrest God of His magnificent creation. Thus began a battle of epic proportions that leaves today's believer with many questions. -Why did God allow evil in the first place? -If evil was defeated at the cross, why does it continue to exist? -Does spiritual warfare really make a difference? -How are we to await the end of the age?”
I don’t think that I have ever read anything by Derek Prince, but I understood him to be an inspired writer and enlightened theologian. So, I was happy when I was given the opportunity to read this book – “War in Heaven”.
I must confess, for me it missed the mark and rather than answering many of the questions posed in the overview, it left me confused by the authors admitted personal interpretation of Scripture. Perhaps this is a brilliant work as many other reviewers have pointed out, I just can’t agree with their conclusion.

I normally love Derek Prince's teaching, but this is an exception. I got five chapters in and had to quit. Up to that point, it was Mr. Prince's extensive defense of the outdated Gap Theory of creation. This disturbed me greatly, fictitious pre-Adamic race and all.
As much as I tried to slog through, the following quotation totally sunk any further ambition to read on: "It is important to realize that the creation of Adam and the Adamic race was part of God’s response to Satan’s rebellion. In a certain sense, this new race was designed to fulfill the destiny from which Satan had fallen and even to go beyond that." Much leading up to that made me shake my head as well, especially the repeated hints that God "responds" to the devil's moves, as if He did not have a specific plan from the beginning, and must therefore do a patch-up job on the damage that the enemy wreaks.
I was very disappointed in this book, especially because I have learned so much from Mr. Prince's other works.

Nobody teaches on the topic of spiritual warfare and answers more questions about the relationship between Yahweh and the fallen angelic host better than Derek Prince. There is so much confusion among believers and skeptics in this area. Do yourself a favor and pick up every book Prince wrote on the subject. You will love his down-to-earth, straight forward writing style. Most of his books are around 200 pages. I usually read them from cover to cover in 24-48 hours. He is the most honest, unbiased and noble Bible teacher you could hope to find. I have a lot of lost time to make up for when it comes to consuming his materials as I only discovered him about 2 years ago. He was beyond brilliant even prior to receiving his divine anointing to teach the Bible across denominational lines. He has been a spiritual father to me, much like Paul was to Timothy.

This was just an ok read for me. Instead of challenging his research or beliefs, I will just say that I don't believe everything I read and some things I understand or believe through my own faith. I cannot honestly recommend this particular book to my readers but feel free to make your own decisions. I received an ARC through Chosen publishing in exchange my an honest review. This book is about the power we have in prayer, and in making proclamations. The author wants us to understand there is an unseen war going on around us between the forces of God and the forces of evil. A very informative read on the spiritual world and much is to be considered in what we do not see. This book really opens your eyes to spiritual matters and what goes on behind the scenes that ultimately impacts us in the tangible world. Derek Prince really dives in like a true scholar in this read.

Loved this timely read!
I've read many a Derek Prince book and this one follows his same thorough biblical logic. I truly enjoyed and was inspired by this work.
