"Why I Am Not a Hindu" was first published in print edition in 1993 (second edition1995). Inspired by Bertrand Russell's "Why I Am Not a Christian", which the author, Dr. Ramendra admired, and M. K. Gandhi's "Why I Am a Hindu", with which he disagreed; the author explains why he is not a Hindu by conviction, though he is a Hindu by birth.
Dr. Ramendra gives his reasons for not being a Hindu. One cannot argue there, he has his convictions and has decided to live by them. He seemingly lambasts social structures put in place as a result of believing Hindu scriptures to be true however, as he admits himself, he only actually quotes Hindu scripture. An interesting critique, I'd be very interested in hearing a Hindu's reaction to Dr.Ramendra's reasoning.
