I stumbled across this after watching re-runs of Gladiators on a Sunday night on Challenge. This was my Saturday night when I was a youngster and my favourites were Jet and Warrior. Trojan grew on me, although as an adult, a lot of the guys have grown on me.

This is an interesting book if you want to learn more about the behind the scenes and what goes into an average day of filming. It's a 62 page book so it will not take you long to read and look at the pretty pictures. There's not much "personal life" included in this and some of Trojan's thoughts on certain Gladiators (Scorpio and Shadow) are missing. Whether they had left the show at the time of writing or whether it was trimmed down to make sure it was a relatively quick read, I don't know.

I'm surprised there wasn't a series of these books, for each Gladiator, as I would definitely buy them. Even twenty years after the original run, I still like to while away an hour, shouting at the TV, when life was so much more innocent. The only similar books I can find are the annuals and a book by one of the American Gladiators, Nitro.

I would have liked to have seen one of the stars or Trojan do a proper biography. I'm sure some of them have exciting or sad stories to tell since Gladiators and for me, the demand is still there. Saturday night TV is sadly missing an engaging show such as this, despite all the injuries Trojan talks about.

I reckon this had a very limited print run and is now out of print, but don't pay some of the prices that are listed. It's a waste of money for 62 pages. Keep an eye on it and you'll see it come down to a more suitable price.

Now in the words of John Anderson "Three ... Two ... One..."

A nice behind the scenes look at the making of the Gladiators series from the perspective of Trojan himself, Mark Griffin. Plenty of photos throughout including many rarely seen ones.
Definitely worth a read if you are a fan of the series.
