If a UK based Hallmark movie was spicy… that’s what the Number 10 Affair is and I’m so here for it.

I received an ARC in exchange for an honest, spoiler free review of this book.

I honestly didn’t expect to like this book as much as I did, but the opening scene hooked me in so good that I survived the agonizing slow burn romance between Laura and Spencer. He’s broody, she’s empathetic but unrelenting. Their chemistry is just perfect. I liked that the book didn’t move too fast but also didn’t drag things along. I was truly rooting for the characters to have a happy ending so it was an emotional roller coaster for sure and I read through this book in hours. The spice was good but didn’t overpower the story, I’d say about 1-2 🌶️. I highly recommend this book if you’re looking for a quick, steamy romance, you won’t put it down!

DNF at 25%. Loved the premise, super interesting. But the writing style was a touch juvenile given that it’s supposed to be a NA book.
Also the MMC was a dick, and I knew that going in but he was a serious dick. And i didn’t see that being redeemable in my eyes.
Not to mention that the dynamic between the love interests was very jilted and uncomfortable. It was completely unrealistic.

I think this book could be AMAZING, with maybe an editor and a rewrite in parts. Loved the premise, but the execution was meh.

I really enjoyed this book and am ever so thankful to the author for letting me be an ARC reader. I've never really read political romance before but with the single dad trope added too I was hooked. I loved that the female main character was a strong individual and didn't take any nonsense from the dominant male main character. The spice was hot!
I also did not see that twist coming! I am looking forward to reading more of Joanna's books and definitely more of this series. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

I enjoyed this story. From the first page (that escalated quickly) I knew I was rooting for them to win! When one wants full control and the other gives no 🤭, the FMC is my kinda gal! This read will have you giggling at the banter, cursing the MMC and loving the connection they have.. shadow daddy much? I'm here for it! Love me some E2L shadow daddy drama.

This book was an excellent read one of those that you think about even when you are reading it. The story is there the spice is there the chemistry is just perfection. That perfect inner dialog of this is wrong but feels so right. If you are looking for the single dad falls for the nanny grumpy/sunshine romance it is excellent. I was so close to finishing the book when Joanna dropped a sneak peak of the audiobook to ARC readers, I could not wait to finish the book so I could hear the chemistry in their voices. I cannot wait to read more from Joanna, thank you so much for this opportunity to read a wonderful book.

I got this book as an ARC and will give no spoilers. I loved Spencer and Laura and talk about a plot twist!!!! I was shook! I enjoyed the slow burn but was also dying because I had to wait. I wish there had been more of his Dom side shown and I could have used a little more development with some characters, but overall I really enjoyed!!!

THIS. BOOK.

The main thing that threw me off about the book pretty much the entire time was the UK dialect (as I am a reader from America) and the change in tone. The characters would have a very laid back tone and seem very comfortable with one another and then swap to talking very formally (a tone I assume was due to the MMC’s profession). Overall, the book started off really well. The storyline was building for a really good enemies to lovers trope and the spice was fantastic. There were a few moments where I felt like I would really be able to predict part of the outcome, but I was still pretty invested so I pushed through. And if the author was planning to go in the direction I thought, the book could still be really good. INSERT PLOT TWIST AFTER PLOT TWIST AFTER PLOT TWIST. And not in a good way! I feel like the second half of this book was so rushed and it felt like the author tried to squeeze every type of trope or scenario into 150’pages. It was a “roller coaster” for sure… but it was a roller coaster of chaos… I love good toxic MCs but something about the characters and their back and forth dynamic gave me the ick. I honestly can’t say I’d recommend this book to anyone. 🫣

Terrible read. Majorly hyped up
I think I yawned and fell asleep more reading this book than I have anything else. The story line was pretty basic and the spice was so poor
Wouldn’t recommend to a friend 🥱

Stopped reading at when he decided to get her pregnant and stole her pills and f* her without knowing if she even wants kids. After the first daughter being a mistake and the mom left few days after birth. You would say 30+ man would learn a lesson.

The whole book is really bad writing, the characters say something in sentence and then say quite the opposite in another. I would find it okay if that was with one thing or one character (indecisive personal trait… maybe) but it was all the time. Not attractive, funny or interesting just upsetting.

Starting in the hero POV and we’re immediately told about his sexual predilections. Lazy writing. The h is 27. He keeps calling she “innocent” but she’s almost 30 and experienced. I wasnt jiving with the writing.

This book was WONDERFUL and definitely a 5 star read for me! It has enemies to lovers, billionaire/single dad, suspense, slow burn romance and SPICE! I recommend this to any romance/dark romance book lover! I cannot wait for the second book, Veronica's story!

This book has plenty of spice, some of the speaking moments through them seemed juvenile but maybe I’m being too harsh. There were some good twists in the story too. The wrap up was enough that it didn’t leave me wanting more information. It was a good storyline and I really appreciate that the author gave the book good closure.

This is the first book of Joanna’s that I have been able to read and I can’t wait to figure out the next one of hers I’m going to read!

If you enjoy Enemies to lovers, high sexual tension, with some slow burn then this book is for you.

From the beginning we get the MFC Laura in quite the predicament which leaves the MMC Spencer baffled at what to do and the antics keep you wanting to turn the pages staying up late to continue reading. We even have Spencer’s daughter Maja who is our own in book ship builder! 🛳️🔨 An enjoyable and quick read!

Finished this in two days!

🖤A moody, dominant MMC.
❤️A strong FMC who is guarding her heart.

The power play between Spencer and Laura is electric!
From the first time they lay eyes on each other, the sexual chemistry between them is palpable!

At first, Spencer is hard to like but as the story continues we start to see the many layers of Spencer and what makes him tick.

The family dynamic is great and the additional characters in this book really help to create an immersive world for us.

With mentions of booktok in the story and the dedication, you can expect the spice! 🌶️

I enjoyed this and am looking forward to the Bank series continuing, and learning more about the Banks brothers 🥰😊

Number 10 Affair is a very intense story at times. We have Laura who this sweet and loving lady. We meet Spencer in a unique way. We don’t seem to like Spencer as much in the beginning. Laura is just trying to live her life the best way she can. We see growth throughout the story that just draws you deeper into it. The chemistry between the two is very strong. We see the up’s and down’s these two are going throughout the story. This story is riddled with lies at times as journey alongside these amazing characters. It is extremely well written and developed. I really enjoyed the story and how we can easily feel the emotions that play out into the story. As we get to the ending it has a very dramatic twist. It definitely a must read as it pulls you in and doesn’t let go.

Great storyline

Great storyline and I got the plot but the writing was not the best. Got confusing in some areas, trailed off and on too much and sounded too immature in some places. But it’s a great start.

so much no.

Nah, it just wasn't good. A lot was rushed and other parts dragged. Too many introductions to characters that were never heard from again and had no importance. Laura was such a weak character. It was not the book for me sadly. :(

I was given an ARC of this book, and I didn’t expect to enjoy it as much as I did. I didn’t like Spencer at all at first and found it really hard to keep reading as he was just so unbearable, but I loveddd the twists towards the end, I really wasn’t expecting them at all. Loved this and can’t wait for Veronica and Rupert’s story

I was lucky enough to receive an ARC of this book and I will say I enjoyed the main story.
Not only is it enemies-to-lovers and a romance, but it grips into themes of parenting and how a parent’s work can impact how a child is treated. I really liked this, as we got to witness the true feelings of children within powerful families.

WARNING (or encouragement, if you like!): This book is FULL of smut; I’d go so far as to say nearly every single chapter has some form of sexual act. I have not read a good smutty book in a fair while, so this I did enjoy! BUT, it almost felt more smut than plot, and the details were focused on this rather than storyline.

Pros that I would like to mention are the FMC, as she didn’t completely take everything the MMC said/did, she stuck up for herself when needed and kept to her beliefs throughout. Furthermore, the side characters all had their own personality and differed from each other. Each of them held their own opinions that were voiced and supported varying things. I would like to see Veronica’s story next.

However, I went into this thinking it was a slow burn romance and have to disagree. This whole novel felt super fast paced for me - the sexual tension, the falling in love, the “plot twist” of the book, it all happened extremely quickly.

I give this a 3 star review, because I liked it but I REALLY wanted to love it. But I would like to see more of Joanna’s novels to explore further!

I really enjoyed this book at the beginning, I was having a great time and loved where it was going and then somewhere around 60% it felt like the story completely changed. I loved the interactions and the banter in the beginning as well as the character development and the back and forth between the FMC and MMC. Unfortunately, the further in I got, the more confused I was about what was happening. It felt like suddenly it became a lifetime movie, I didn’t really understand the need for the setup by the sister or why she would do this elaborate of a plan for years if she literally didn’t care about the guy or her own child. I don’t mind a miscommunication trope, they don’t typically bother me but I think this one did because of it coming from this crazy plot by the sister that didn’t feel remotely realistic in the first place. I also didn’t love the pregnancy stuff in the last chapter, I get that he didn’t *actually* cause the accidental pregnancy but he definitely was saying he wanted to get her pregnant so she would stay and I don’t understand why it’s heavily implied that someone did it on purpose if it’s just a regular old surprise? Also big no to answering the phone to talk to your mom right in the middle of super hot stuff. No thank you. I definitely don’t think this book was for me but I know a lot of people like those things and I love that for them. I just wish that I had been more aware of what the meat of this was actually about before I picked it up. 2.75⭐️

Okay so this was another one of those ‘Tik tok made me buy it’s books. And to be honest, after seeing so many people raving about it, I couldn’t wait to give it ago.

The story focuses on Spencer - moody, single dad with trust issues living the bachelor life…but is also the prime minister. He’s portrayed as this hot, dominant guy who gets what he wants. He’s hot, intelligent and did start to tick most of the bookish boyf boxes…

Then we have Laura - she comes across and confident and sassy at the start of the book, but I feel like we lose this side to her the further in we get..

I won’t go into too much detail because I don’t want to spoil it, but you can get the logistics from the title …

Overall …

This book had so much potential!!

The first 40% had me hooked, and I loved the character building, and the plot really did have me intrigued.

However, I feel like we loose this halfway through. And I did struggle to read on. The writing wasn’t great…and I get that the author is trying to accommodate for the setting being in London. But seriously? I really did struggle with reading this and I found a lot of the sentences made no sense at all.

Then there’s the spice. Yes it’s there. No it’s not the spiciest book I’ve read (the amount of reviews I’ve seen over tik tok stating that this book was the filthiest spice ever 👀) tbh I thought it was average.

I didn’t really understand the ‘plot twist’ that came towards the end. But I guess it worked..in a way 🤔

I was very disappointed in this book as I was really looking forward to reading it.
This book follows Spemcer Banks who is the Prime Minister and Laura who he hires (after some confusion)as his nanny.
Spencer is rude, controlling, obsessed, possessive and jealous. He has the mantra of if I can't have her then no one can. He interrupts dates that Laura is on, telling her that Maja , her charge, is ill, he wants to punch any male who talks to her. Laura in turn is weak, soft, annoying...she tells him time and time again to stop being jealous but doesn't actually stop him and just swoons over him. She somehow loses some birth control pills and assumes that Spencer is hiding them but does nothing about it and then we don't actually find out what happens. Because somehow she 'forgot' to take them but where did the pills go?? The 'twist' in the book was obvious and unrealistic and rushed.
All the characters are rude, shouty, sexually frustrated. Spencer can't walk around his house for a day without catching one look at Laura and then having a raging hard on for the rest of the book.
There were so many mistakes in the KU version of this book, name mistakes and missing words and the writing was literally terrible. The Characters had no depth and it was a 2 star read only because it was an easy read...

"Number 10 Affair" by Joanna Mazurkiewicz was an intresting book, with moments of tension betwen Laura and Spencer.
The "enemies to lovers" and "single dad" tropes got me from the first pages. It also has British vibes and it's quite peaceful.

I loved to see how much Spencer fought to get Laura. It was clearly that he wanted her and whould do anything for her.
If you ask me, he whould crawl for her.
Yes, Spencer is a difficult and arogant man from outside, but he has a beautiful soul and loves his family more than his reputation.

Sometimes it was a bit too much smut for me. Don't get me wrong. The book and the plot were good. Also the romantic scenes were described perfectly - not too much but not too less -, but I don't really read smut.
Also the politics parts got me confused sometimes since i don't read politics books

If that plot twist weren't there, I whould get bored, but since it was a plot twist, I was breathless to see what happens next and if it will end well.

I cried at "betrayal" scenes. I didn't knew what to trust, until i read both POVs.
I whould give the book a 3.5/5 if i could
I liked the book, i really do, but it could be more.

I also want to thank Joanna for letting me be an ARC reader!

Nah you had me in the first half.
I liked the burn the past to begin with. He was pushy and she wanted to keep her dignity, and yanno at the beginning the third act break made sense but then you lost me completely.
Firstly, Why on gods given earth would he believe anything that came out of his exs mouth, the same ex who abandoned the 11 day old baby, that’s just absurd to me.
Second, where was the grovelling? Like this man broke this girls heart, and then when he finds out he’s wrong he’s like oh well we can be together now….wtf do you mean? Not only did you hurt her but you absolutely destroyed your daughter, who has finally bonded with a motherly figure….
And third.. the proposal….. that was insane. He’s the “prime minister” but you gonna HANDCUFF a woman against her will in front of the whole UK, apologies to hurt, and then proposes and worst of all she says yes…. Nah this ruined the book for me.
Like I really really liked the first half, there was build up, sexual tension, a bit of smut. I think the MMC was a bit too forward sometimes, but the FMC held her own, even slapping him at one point but I just felt like we lost all character development and plot in the last 20% of the book.
Truly disappointed

Firstly I’ll star with what I liked about this book.. the plot was good, I enjoyed the enemies to lovers even if they fell a bit too quickly. it surprised me that I enjoyed it even with a single dad element (it’s not using thing). It was an easy read, the smut was smutting BUT.. it was written to formal so I couldn’t really connect with characters properly they didn’t feel like real people, it was all sort of staged (I know it’s a fiction book but I like to relate to the characters).
There was quite a bit of repetition which was annoying but I could over look that, despite the repeated usage of the phrase “fuck your brains out” I felt like bashing my head into the book with how often it was used.
Lastly although I enjoyed the plot and the boss/employee dynamic I figured out that Samantha was Laura’s biological sister as soon as Laura mentioned she was born in Poland and had an older sister that she couldn’t locate, this made the eventual “plot twist” less of a twist and more of a sigh.

Overall I finished it and I’m glad I saw it through to then end I probably would have been able to overlook most of my issues with it if it wasn’t written so proper.

Laura & Spencer
*
Nanny or elite escort?
*
Spencer is a single father and a prime minister. When Laura comes for a nanny interview, he mistakes her for an elite escort and has her on her knees with his * * * k in her face. They rescheduled the interview since he really needed a nanny for his rebelling daughter. Laura accepts the position and instantly connects with Maja. She does a greatjob of bringing a workaholic father and his daughter back together. Since Maja loves he, she wants her to come with them for a holiday to Sicily. Spencer invites her so she can "help" with the kid. In Sicily, with Laura's barely there bikini, the prime ministers resolve shatter, and he gives in to the attraction and makes her his. She is so weak for him; I was glad she stood her ground and made sure he grovels in the end.
This is a smutty book with rough sex, spankin, and hiding knickers. I liked the book, but it lost me in the middle for a little while and got me back on track when the drama started happening. There are scenes where he just ignores her and does what he wants. They get their HEA.

Fantastic. It is definitely did have little twist in it that I didn’t see coming. Just say with no spoilers I didn’t have the correct character as possible long lost sister.

The MMC character was real Prick, but even he admits it and isn’t trying to hide that he isn’t. So there had been some warning flags and can’t really put everything on MMC, the MFC knew he can be selfish obnoxious dickhead.

Loved the build up, was quick read with clean ending of no unfinished business between these two MC.

There was enough breadcrumbs left throughout the book giving us the readers wanting to know more and uncover secrets from the friends/family that have spread in the book. And has me hoping for this becoming more then standalone book so can see other characters story’s that could be very interesting.

Thanks to the author for signed copy of the book. Any future readers might be able to still order signed copy, just check on tiktok
