Dr. Sylvia Rimm’s nine years as a contributing correspondent to NBC’s Today Show and as a favorite personality on public radio make her a familiar child psychologist to many audiences.

Dr. Rimm is a psychologist, director of Family Achievement Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, and is a clinical professor at Case Western Reserve School of Medicine. Families come from all over the United States for help.

كتاب مفيد يعرض مجموعة من الاستراتيجيات للآباء وأولياء الأمور لتربية أطفالهم، وكيفية قيام الأسرة بتعزيز التعلم من جانب الطفل ودعمه وغرس حب القراءة ومهارات الاستكشاف لدى الأطفال من الصغر، كما يتناول الكتاب موضوعات مختلفة تدور في نفس الأطار كالإفراط في اللوم أو الثناء والتعزيز الإيجابي، والإبداع والتظاهر والموهبة والتفكير الابتكاري

This is a helpful, realistic guide for parents and caregivers to help their children do better in school and other activities. Dr. Rimm's voice is non-judgmental and compassionate. I've learned many helpful strategies from this book.

I'm still reading it, almost done. It offers good advice that all parents could apply. Of course I have no clue why I'm reading it, since I am childless (heck I'm not ever married:P) and hardly think I'd remember all this 5 years from now:) but all the same, good read.

dnf. Seems to view children as a combative entity to be managed, not a human being to work as a team with.
