A billionaire prince destined to rule the world. A woman determined to save it.
Jennifer Allen is on a mission to assist refugees, not to be swept away by a fairy tale prince…even if the prince in question is a drop-dead sexy billionaire. When Prince Antony diTalora visits her camp, she’s certain it’s a publicity stunt and keeps him at arm’s length. But when he invites her to the palace to speak about her work, it brings her beliefs into question and has her looking at Prince Charming in a whole new light.
Prince Antony diTalora has wealth, power, and everything a man could want, except someone to share his life. Duty demands he marry well and produce an heir, but when Antony meets an intriguing American who challenges his views, his privileged life is turned on its head.
But can two people from such different worlds really live happily ever after?
Going to the Castle is the second book in the Royal Scandals: San Rimini series. The six-book series includes:
• Fit for a Queen • Going to the Castle • The Prince’s Tutor • The Knight’s Kiss • Falling for Prince Federico • To Kiss a King

I have thousands of books on my real (as opposed to my Goodreads) bookshelves. However, my Goodreads library only contains those books I'd give four or five stars and would recommend to friends without hesitation (and I haven't even gotten around to listing all those yet!)
Burnham reminds the heart that it's never too old to dream. For every broken heart and bruised soul that we've had to endure, Antony and Jennifer give the dreamer in us hope. Going to the Castle turns the tables on the traditional Princess and delivers a heroine with the courage to dedicate her heart to helping those in need. Jennifer is a fighter who makes her own rules especially when it comes to her heart. This is her story and it never strays when it comes to emotion.
Going To The Castle Royal Scandals: San Rimini #2 Nicole Burnham ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I loved this story so much, I wanted to devour it in one sitting, but skas life takes over leaving me to wait just days to finish. I hi I this one resonated with me more than book one, as it was set only around the royals themselves. Price Antony was sexy from the get go and Jennifer a spritely American with a one track mind, but their chemistry was instant making the story that much better.
Crowns prince Antony, has one job according to his father, find a woman of good bloodlines and social status, marry her and produce an heir to the thrown. Sadly his pushing from his father has him entangled in the lives of females he prefer not to socialise with nor marry, leading to a reputation of a womaniser, one thing he is not. But a chance meeting with an American refugee camp co-ordinator is about to change everything.
Jennifer Allen isn’t your pretty woman with the dresses and diamonds, she’s dirty and is happier in jeans and a top working hard at the refugee camp in Rasovo. When crown prince Antony visits the camp as part of his fundraising, he strikes an instant chemistry with Jennifer, inviting her to visit San Rimini and stay at the castle to speak at an upcoming dinner. Knowing her heart is also invested, watching Antony with the children and his obvious live to help others, takes another small part of her heart. She knows that he can never be with a commoner, but his will to help those less fortunate, his power to change ways, and ability to raise money to help this in need, creates a friction she hasn’t felt ever.
A single kiss, a nasty companion, a King hell bent in marrying his eldest son, and the San Rimini press, will force a wedge between the pair before anything really happens. Anyone knows his fathers wishes, but what about his, his heart doesn’t want the women his father has chosen, he doesn’t want to marry someone he can barely stand? What he wants is a new look on royal life, a chance to make his own decisions, find his own wife, find that love…. And he has in Jennifer. Moving the long ways of royal law won’t be easy but having Jennifer is way more important!
Prince Antony diTalora, the rich and eligible crown prince of San Rimini, has just celebrated his 34th birthday. Much as he would love to be happily married by now, he has had no luck finding the love of his life, even though he has dated a wide range of women over the years. Sadly that has only resulted in him being labelled the playboy prince by the press. Due to King Eduardo’s health concerns, the pressure is on for the crown prince to find a wife from a suitable background to produce an heir. Otherwise the king will override the prince and force him to marry someone suitable of his choice. On a visit to the Haffali refugee camp in San Rimini's neighbour, Rasovo, Prince Antony meets camp director, Jennifer Allen, a down to earth American who speaks her mind and is not afraid to get her hands dirty. While she appreciates the additional attention the refugee camp will receive from his visit, she is unsure of the prince's true intentions for visiting the camp. Is it just another photo opportunity for the handsome prince? Although they are both drawn to each other, she doesn't meet the king's requirements for his son's future wife and the future looks bleak for the two of them. This is the second book in the Royal Scandals San Rimini series by Nicole Burnham. It can be read as a stand alone book, or one of a thoroughly enjoyable series which sees all the members of the diTalora family search for their own happy ever after. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and read it in one sitting........definitely a great source of escapism during lockdown due to COVID-19.
Jennifer is committed to helping around the world with causes that make a bigger difference. She puts in volunteer hours and long ones at that. She deals with places not many would step foot in but it truly makes a difference. What she isn't committed to is press opportunities and Prince's that want the easy limelight of passing off funds- Prince Antony visiting the camp is everything she disagrees with, especially after he missed her name or didn't bother to remember it...
Prince Antony takes duty seriously, he takes public image as serious as charity work and like his mother is committed to making a difference- but he's not always so hands on. A last minute trip to war torn refugee camp, meeting a driver who speaks passionately about caring for those displaced, hurt and seeking safety and a director whose faith, hardwork and determination grabs at him, but meeting a boy name Josef and working with him and Jennifer changes his life.
Neither expected to see each other again after one visit. Neither expected their worlds to align and neither expected their attraction to be soul deep.
I absolutely loved this book. It took my mind off things, it made me swoon and it had a great amount of danger, adventure, and love blended together with hot chemistry.
Cannot for the next installment in San Rimini.
*Arc received from the author directly in exchange for my honest opinion which I gratefully provide.
This is the story of Prince Antony & Jennifer. Prince Antony goes to visit Haffali Refugee Camp as part of his charity work, to give a donation. He finds himself very interested in this camp, and their needs of getting more workers to contribute to the cause. He is also interested in Jennifer who is the director of the Haffali Refugee Camp. He invites her to a charity ball, where he will introduce an idea for the camp and other locations that will be associated with the charity for the ball. He is destined to marry an aristocrat, but any of them only really want to be married for title and money. Jennifer is not like that. There are many facets to this story, which is a great one with many emotions and action. I enjoyed every bit of it. I look forward to the next story in this series.
American refugee camp director Jennifer Allen meets the breathtakingly handsome crown prince of San Rimini Prince Antony, who’s just another superficial media hog. Or is he? Antony has been under pressure from his father the king, and the media has been writing its own story. Things are not always as they seem.
This was a fun, lighter read. It was enjoyable watching Jennifer and Antony learn about each other and overturn the assumptions they had about each other, fall in love, and figure out how to overcome obstacles between the prince and the commoner.
I recommend Going to the Castle, and gave it a 3/5, because I liked the book, especially as I was reading it. It was a good distraction at the end of an annoying day, and not too deep. I don’t have any burning desire to read it again.
Disclaimer: I was provided an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Crown Prince Antony diTalora had no idea that visiting a refugee camp would forever change him. Yet it did in ways he could not imagine. One of those ways was meeting the selfless outspoken camp director, Jennifer Allen. The last thing Jennifer needed was a publicity seeking royal invading the camp with a score of news people in his wake. She had too much to do and not enough time or personnel to get it done. To say that neither Antony nor Jennifer was what the other expected would be to put it mildly. While they try to resist what's between them, it's the King who may be the one to put the brakes on their budding relationship.
If you’re looking for something quick and easy to read that still takes the time to show character growth, I recommend Going to the Castle. Prince Antony and Jennifer are both likable and independent. I liked that they both had their own lives outside of each other but that they were also willing to sacrifice for each other - even if that sacrifice isn’t exactly what you’d expect. An easy read with some needed conflict that they were able to overcome without losing who they were.
Perfect book to read to just relax. Jennifer and Anthony’s story is like a modern Cinderella with attitude. I from the time they met, just hooks you. And love the fact that Anthony is willing to leave everything behind for her and Jennifer is ready to let him go for the country is so romantic. Would love to see who won the bed in the next books.
Jennifer and Prince Antony's story is so riveting. I love this fairy tale romance with down to earth scenes and situations. Excellent book by Nicole Burnham. Couldn't put this book down. That's how good it was. Can't wait for next book in the San Rimini series.
Nicole Burnham became a favorite a author several years ago. She writes such vivid pictures of her world that it feels like I'm there. I absolutely love her books and audiobooks.
GOING TO THE CASTLE was Prince Antony and (American) Jennifer's story. It was a beautiful story of putting others first, even when it brings heartbreak and knowing what is truly important in life. Hard choices were being made, but in the end their is a true HEA.
I love seeing characters from one book to another, building the world. I look forward to meeting more of the royals from San Rimini.
Review Going to the Castle by Nicole Burnham This second book in the San Rimini Royals did not disappoint. The key characters were very believable from the moment they met. Jennifer Allen is the director of a Refugee Camp in a neighbouring country to San Rimini while Anthony is the crown prince for San Rimini. Jennifer thinks Anthony is a playboy out to just make the royal family look great by donating money. She does need the money but what she really needs is people to help. Anthony does not catch the driver’s name who picks him up at the helicopter pad and mistaken impressions are made. This is a love story right from the start. Anthony, after having a tour of the site and reading a story to one of the young patients sees the limitation of staff that Jennifer has. He adds a work experience requirement at a center like Jennifer’s for new student scholarships being offered by his foundation. Meanwhile, King Eduardo has a heart condition and has to have surgery. He wants Anthony engaged before the surgery happens and starts inviting women to the castle to help Anthony reach a decision. The King even threatens making his younger brother the crown prince since he already has children. Anthony invites Jennifer to the fundraising dinner at the castle as a speaker. Anthony goes out of his way to give her a pampered experience while she is at the castle, providing a dress, shoes, hair styling and makeup. Anthony gives Jennifer an amazing introduction but a kiss is caught on camera and Jennifer flees the castle. Later, after The Refugee Camp experiences the after effects of a bomb, Anthony arrives with supplies and helps rescue Jennifer and a patient from the collapse hospital. He really becomes her shining knight. The pace of action is good with some conflict for the young couple with an interfering king. Anthony wants to marry for love as his father did not just settle, for someone his dad wants. The description of the camp is very good and believable considering pictures of the real thing on the news. This is a love story so love does triumph in the end. I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Nicole Burnham is a favorite author of mine. I love the royal world she has created. I get lost in her stories and I'm rarely ready for the book to end. Her writing is descriptive and the characters are so likable. I'm always so invested in their lives.
GOING TO THE CASTLE was a sweet read of Crowned Prince Antony and American Jennifer's romance. I LOVED IT. I think it was my favorite. But I say that with each book. Prince Antony was a perfect son, never questioning his place in life. He was resigned, although not happy, to having to pick a wife he didn't love. He had a true heart for those less fortunate. Jennifer was kind, hardworking and faithful with a heart for people misplaced. My heart physically ached for the two as they had to decide what should dictate their life decisions. Was the love of Country and responsibilities of life they each lived more important than love? Will Prince Antony have to give up his place as the crowned prince by choosing Jennifer?
This is a must read if you enjoy royal romances.

This is the second in the San Rimini Scandals series. This centers around the oldest son of King Eduardo, Prince Antonio. He just turned 34 and does not look like he has plans to settle down. He is not interested in someone who only wants him for his title or wealth, not himself. Then he meets Jennifer Allen while on a good will trip to a refugee camp. He wants to give them money, but they need more. Jennifer works to make him a better prince and a better man. This tells how in a relatively short time, they meet and fall in love, in spite of the King's opposition. I had not read the previous version of this story, but was captivated by everything that is happening This is an expanded version of a much older story of the same title. I am looking forward to the following books as well. Note: I received an ARC for this book but am looking forward to purchasing the Kindle version when it is released.
Follow the story of Prince Antony of Rimini, a fictitious island off the coast of Italy. Even though he’s portrayed as a playboy prince, he has heart for commitment. It takes meeting an aide worker, Jennifer Allen, from America who convinces him he has choices and doesn’t have to follow his father the King in all things. 4 stars instead of 5 because of sex scene at the end.
Every book in the Royal Scandals series’ has been hugely entertaining with enjoyable characters. Nice easy reads that feel very good at the finish - a nice thing to experience in these not-so-kind times!
