The the impotence of proofreading

I really liked the tone, and I was looking forward to the story, but I couldn't get past page 7. Now, I will admit to being a bit OCD when it comes to grammar and mechanics, so you might not be bothered. But I have to stop and correct the mistakes, and I don't have the time or energy to copy edit a whole novel for free.
As for the title of my review, look up Taylor Mali.

Not what I expected

This book is titled Nick Spool Galactic private eye and the first short story is about that. The rest have nothing to do with it. I wanted something in a noir story but instead got a bunch of short stories in different genres and styles. It’s a good thing this was free because I would want my money back.

Couldn't (wouldn't) finish reading.

Reads like novice fan fiction--no evidence of having had a competent proofreader, clear indications of untrained skill in writing, plotting, storytelling. Implication: lack of respect for reader.

I thought most of the stories were pretty good but could have been written better. However, it was badly in need of proofreading. There seemed to be one or two errors on almost every page.
