Surprise pregnancy

I had such high hopes for this book because I loved the tropes that I saw posted on the author’s IG page. But I almost DNF’d this book three times. First at around the 83% mark, then again at around 88%, then again at 90%

The book was progressing well for the majority of the book. I loved Jordan (Jordy), I liked Lola for the most part, I liked their friend groups, the spice was hot, and it seemed like their ONS/rebound was definitely progressing to be a super cute HEA. After I kept feeling like DNFing the book I just started skimming until the end hoping that all the negative feelings I had would be reversed. They didn’t. I finished the book and they did hey their HEA, but I can’t say I’m happy about sticking it out and finishing it overall.

Things I didn’t like ..
- I hated Graham, and I hated how Lola chose to handle him. It’s crazy that she was even with a guy like him to begin with. She still allowed him to have access to her and made excuses for when and how she would cut him off. She should’ve blocked the new number he was contacting her from, immediately gotten a new number, and she should’ve never let him bully her into dropping the police report. That was really weak behavior.
- I didn’t like how indecisive Lola was with Jordy. One minute she was saying they were only sex/a rebound, but her actions and loving/sweet things she would say to him would indicate other wise. I didn’t feel bad at all about what he said to her at the Wade’s wedding.
- the third act break up was so dumb and unnecessary on Lola’s part and I hated how she handled it. She was literally breaking his heart and he was begging her to stay and she only cared about having sex one last time. I really started feeling at that point that he deserved better than her and their situation.
- the 4 week time jump to the surprise pregnancy was weird and forced. It was at the end and I just didn’t like it.
- I hated how she chose to handle telling Jordy she was pregnant. In general I hate and don’t understand women who want to keep it a secret until they are ready to tell the dad. It’s not about just you anymore and the dad deserves to know as soon as you find out. Not you telling other people and then he finds out accidentally smh.
- the ending was rushed, the “wrap up” of everything with Graham was pretty unfinished, the proposal was lack luster, and their wasn’t a big love declaration like there should’ve been.

Unfortunately I can’t say I’m glad I read this, maybe I’ll read the other books in future.

Loved it

What a book, loved these characters after reading book 2 in the Elite Eagles series I was so looking forward to their story and it didn’t disappoint, Jordon ( Jordy ) character he is one hot adorable guy the way he protects Lola 💓 there story is written perfectly it was supposed to be a rebound with no strings attached fling but there chemistry was so strong right from the off.

It’s a definite must read.

I love Vicky’s writing style as you get it all a great story line with emotion and hot steamy scenes, can’t wait to read her next one.

5 huge stars from me

A MUST READ!!

This book is next level, we meet both Jordy and Lola in Wild Blades and man did I fall in love with them and now I love them even more.

Lola and Jordy agree to one night when he vows to help her forget her ex who she caught cheating on her, but we all know one night can never be enough.

The chemistry between these two are so damn hot it feels like you’re in a sauna.

Lola is incredibly strong and resilient, she cares and love deeply and is loyal to a T.

Jordy is everything we want and more, hot hockey player who calls Lola a good girl. We see a side to Jordy we never expect and it is sizzling.

The banter, spice and emotions in this book have you feeling everything.

This is a must read for me.

Absolutely loved this book. I loved Jordy and Lola, they are just the sweetest. I loved how the story was the same time line as Wade and Kali’s story, Wild Blades, and although this can be read as a standalone I would recommend reading this series in order. The story was great and kept me hooked and not wanting to step away. A perfect brother’s best friend, surprise pregnancy romance ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

To be honest, I was waiting very excitedly for this book since I got a hunch about who the couple was gonna be in the previous book, but I have a very love-hate review for the book.

Okay overall this book was fun to read at the beginning and at certain points throughout the book which I loved very much and enjoyed a lot too and Lola and Jordan do have great chemistry and connection.

Read the following at your own discretion:

First off I feel that the trope of “surprise pregnancy” was a bit misleading cause the book was not at all based or around the trope until the very end which is not how usually tropes work.
If the book was not given the trope of surprise pregnancy, I feel like I would’ve loved or liked the book more.
Second, I feel like the plot was a bit missing and it was mainly focused on smut which was amazing but comparing to the previous books(which had great plots)it was bit of a let down, honestly there was a lot of potential and the story could more amazing if it had a proper plot.
Third, I felt like throughout the book Lola was prioritising Wade more than Jordan, I mean I get it you reunited with your brother after a long time with a lot of trouble but that doesn’t mean her pushing Jordan away and not even properly apologising for it and don’t get me started on the fact that Jordan finds out last about the pregnancy when he should’ve been the first.
I felt like this book focused unnecessarily a lot on Wade cause Lola was always like Wade this, Wade that and so on.
Lastly and most importantly I loved Jordan for all he is and how he is irrevocably in love with Lola, Ik Lola loves him too but a bit more should’ve been shown from her side through certain actions.

Jordy, Jordy, Jordy Fucking Miller! I love this man! I need me this man! He is the ultimate golden retriever. Once he had Lola, there was no denying that she was going to be kept by him.

Lola is amazingly resilient. She has insecurities but Jordy helps her see that she is more than what her ex made her think. She goes through so much in this book. Seeing the secret about her and Wade from her POV is heartbreaking to read, especially when she's having to keep it a secret from everyone.

I don't care what Vicki writes, everything by her will be a 5* read for me

Wow I love Jordy Miller. I think he is my favourite MMC in this series! I love how caring, compassionate and sweet he is…..until you get him in the bedroom that is. Lola has been dealt a rough hand of cards recently and embarks on a rebound fling with Jordy resulting in an accidental pregnancy. This book is spicy, emotional and will really pull on your heartstrings. We all need a Jordy Miller in our lives.

Jordy & Lola are just absolute perfection. I loved their banter from the get go. He is so thoughtful and I love how he takes care of her and knows her better than she knows herself.

This is one of my favorite series and I can't wait to read more from VH!!!

"Seeing myself through his eyes made me realize just how much he loves me. ... We were meant to be together. ... He sees me in a different light, sees me for who I am, and loves me in all the best possible ways. Unconditionally." - Lola Ramsey

Pucking Rebound by VH Nicolson is a cutting-edge sports (hockey) drama that weaves themes of passion, and acceptance. Set concurrently with the events of the previous book, Wild Blades, the story furthermore explores the issues of infidelity and the severe damage it can harbour.

"I'm not confused, and I don't want to end this. I know how I feel about you. ... I feel everything, everywhere. Especially here." I point to my heart. She's penetrated it and settled in like she's always lived there. - Jordy Miller

While the story leans heavily on drama and predictability, it compensates with lighthearted escapism and a feel-good tone. The romantic subplots are wonderful and sensual, particularly Jordy's memorable gestures and his unexpectedly deviant side, and the intense and mesmerizing moments are buoyed by Lola and Jordy's astounding chemistry.

The supporting cast in this book is just as interesting and fun, notably Lola's best friend Piper, who gives the story a sense of warmth and relatability, and Jordy's hilarious twin sisters, who add a layer of levity. Wade, on the other hand, serves as a crucial supporting character since Lola's main role in Elite Eagles greatly depends on him. Despite their involvement in the scandal, Lola and Wade's bond felt authentic and left the impression that sibling love oftentimes succeeds.

At its core, Pucking Rebound is a breathtaking story that honours the endless power of love, selflessness and introspection while offering a delightful escape for romantics at heart. It’s a tender reminder that it’s never too late to find or rekindle love.

This was my favorite book in the series! I was excited to read Lola and Jordy's story after the bomb Lola dropped in the previous book, and I devoured it, especially since it featured the accidental pregnancy trope. The book was very steamy, and I loved the chemistry between Lola and Jordy. They started as a one-night stand after Lola discovered her ex cheating, but it developed into something more when they couldn't stay away from each other.

Lola worked as Wade's assistant after discovering he was her brother. When she realized her fiancé was cheating, she stayed at Wade's house, which is when her relationship with Jordy began. Jordy, Wade's best friend, found Lola alone at the house and decided to cheer her up and help her forget her unfaithful ex. They had strong chemistry, flirted often, and despite knowing they couldn't be together due to work, their sexual tension prevailed, leading to a one-night stand and more.

Jordy only had one ex, but he couldn't deny his attraction to Lola and the things she made him feel. They spent most of their time in private, but I loved reading about their interactions and how they weren't afraid to try new things together. Their steamy scenes were off the charts, especially reading how comfortable they were around each other.

Lola still had to face her ex, but it was nice to read how she stood up to herself and didn't let him win. Jordy was also there for her, and I loved how sweet he was with her and how he didn't hesitate to show Lola how special and strong she was. They complemented each other perfectly, and I enjoyed the moments when they finally opened up about their feelings.

After weeks of being together, the truth about Wade's family came to light. Lola decided to stay away from Jordy to focus on her family, not realizing she was pregnant. After an incident, Jordy had to find out from Wade's girlfriend that Lola was pregnant, but I loved how happy he was about the news and how everything worked out so they could be together in public.

Their story was captivating from the start, and as I said, it was my favorite, especially after reading all their steamy scenes and how Lola was finally part of a big and supportive family.

Spice 🌶🌶🌶

OMG, where do I even start? I LOVED the first two books in this series, and this one? Total knockout! My first 5-star read of 2025, and let me tell you, it earned every single one. I've been thinking about this book nonstop since finishing it. VH Nicholson's writing is just chef's kiss. You don’t just read her books, you live them. You feel every emotion, every spark, and every heartbreak right along with the characters. It’s magic.

Let’s talk about Jordy, though. Oh. My. God. Every time I read one of Vikki’s books, I think, "This MMC is my favorite." But Jordy? He’s on another level. He’s the ultimate golden retriever of book boyfriends, beautiful, genuine, honest, vulnerable, strong, confident, and oh-so-dominant in ALL the best ways. I couldn’t stop swooning. Honestly, I need my own Jordy ASAP!

Lola, fresh from discovering her cheating ex, agrees to one night with Jordy to forget her heartbreak. One night, right? Yeah, right. We all know one night is never enough when the chemistry is as scorching as this. These two are so hot together it feels like you’re reading in a sauna. 🔥

Lola is such a queen, strong, resilient, loyal to a fault, and full of heart. And Jordy? Not only is he a smoking hot hockey player who calls Lola his "good girl" (cue internal screaming), but he’s also so much more. The layers to his character were unexpected and absolutely sizzled. The steamy scenes? Off-the-charts intense. Their relationship had me grinning, swooning, and full-on melting.

And let’s not forget the side characters, they were just as incredible. Supportive, well-developed, and intriguing enough that I’m dying to read their stories next.

If you haven’t started this series yet, what are you even doing with your life? Sure, you could read this as a standalone, but why would you when you can dive into the whole amazing series? Start with Frozen Flames and then Wild Blades before devouring Pucking Rebound. You won’t regret it.

Vikki Nicholson is a total Rockstar, and this series is proof she delivers every single time. I can’t wait to see what she writes next!

Five glowing stars and I would 100% recommend! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

📚 BOOK REVIEW 📚

Pucking Rebound - @vhnicolsonauthor

Pucking Rebound is the third and final book in the Elite Eagles series. Although, all books can be read as standalones and each of them are excellent reads.

Lola is devastated to find her fiance cheating on her. Feeling humiliated and upset she just wants to forget it all. And when Jordan Millar (Jordy) the hot hockey athlete offers to help her forget, she takes him up on the offer. Lola doesn't know that he's watched her from afar and liked her for a long time. But he will take what he can get. He is also her brother's best friend. What follows is a hot, secret and passionate affair that was only supposed to be a rebound but turns into so much more.

I'll be honest and say that I didn't think anyone would be able to compare to Wade after Wild Blades, but his bestie has come along and completely stolen his crown for me. Jordy is the cream of the crop and top level book boyfriend material. I adore him and he's written so well, I can picture him so clearly in my mind. He's hot, cheeky, pretty, adorable and so god damn kind but best of all he's the perfect fit for Lola. And oh so swoonworthy. With lines like;

"You're in a different f**cking league altogether baby"

"I'm going to ruin you for all other men, baby"

But also Lola is fun, fiery and I love how he helps her to find her way again after her confidence is shattered.

"Make me forget my day, Jordan"

"I'm as transparent as a windowpane"

"I'm your biggest fan Jordan Miller"

There aren't enough words to say how much I adored this book. @vhnicolsonauthor
delivers another masterpiece and an ultimate book boyfriend for me. Her writing hooks you in right from the start that you can't help but fall for these characters. I read this book in two days and it gave me everything I wanted and more. It was just so good and I loved seeing Jordy and Lola's relationship develop. Just read this book now! It's my new favourite by this author.

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Pucking Perfect 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I'm a fan of VH Nicolson's books. Why? She writes with such heart that you immerse yourself into every book. From page 1, you're gripped, and you only come up for air when you read The End. You can feel the love the author has for her characters and that she's truly invested in delivering you their happy ever after.

VH Nicolson's main characters are hugely likeable, but I have to say that Jordy & Lola are one of my favourite couples she's written. Jordy is hot and intense in private but also super sweet. He knows what he wants. Lola is my kind of girl - organised, thoughtful, and caring; she wants what's best for her family.
Their romance, a one-night-stand that develops into so much more, is full of intense chemistry, heat, and swoony moments. They're dynamite together!
The author also writes a perfect supporting cast of characters where we see Wade & Kali from Wild Blades (some of the timelines run parallel), and the brilliant Leon (his book is going to be phenomenal!), plus some new favourites.
There's depth to the storyline, too, with secrets that have the potential to blow them all apart - it really adds that extra layer of enjoyment.

This is an absolute 100% would recommend.
Whilst it can be read as a standalone, you will get the most enjoyment from starting with Frozen Flames and then Wild Blades. This has shaped up to be an outstanding 3-book series from an author that always delivers.

❤️📖 This is the third ( happy dance not last ) book in the Elite Eagles series 📖❤️

This book is the speciest book by Ms Nicolson so far, but don't worry it is still a beautiful love story of two people.
If you've read the previos book - Wild Blades you may know the connections between the characters but it is not necessary.

Lola is going through rough times and her only hope to survive into make the connection with her lost brother-Wade, who doesn't know about her. And Jordan who appears at the right time and the right place and what looks just like a rebound changes very fast into something more.
But Lola being Lola, she puts everyone else before her and so she tries hard to resist, but Jordy has his ways and soon he falls for Lola and is determined to make her his.

This couple was so lovely they clicked from the first moment, Jordy was very sensitive and sameway hot-possessive man, his artistic side was very pleasant suprise for me.
Lola is a very smart and strong woman, who didn't brake after she lost her father and found her fiance cheating on her. Jordy awakes her passionate personality in bedroom and sometimes I had to check if my books is not on fire 😅🌶️🌶️🌶️ because Mr.Jordan is a dominant hot man.

I loved their story and can't wait to get some more stories.

Words! I need to find words!
OK, I'll try it...
2 months... I had to wait 2 months to finally read this book I was waiting even more months for, but 2 months after release day.

And I'm definitely not fine now 😭
I don't know if I'll survive this book. I really didn't want it to end, but on the other hand, I couldn't stop reading either 🤣
I expect a lot because I know I can. Vicki always hits it. She will never disappoint (me). But I didn't expect all of that 😱

A few things were already in the previous book (the book about Wade and Kali), but of course not from Lola's POV. It's not just that. It's also that I just wasn't expecting THIS story about Lola's ex-fiance. I loved him in the previous book. But NO, I definitely don't do that anymore. God, I hope he will rot in heII! Poor Lola. But to be honest, I'm also happy about it because otherwise, Jordy wouldn't have happened 😁
Jordy and Lola are just too cute 🥰
Oh, and Jordy... I expected a lot about him too, but he surprised me too. Can a man be cuter and still be this freaking 🔥 then him? And OMG, his filthy mouth 🥵 I'm definitely just a melted puddle of myself. I'm jealous. Yes, I am. I want a Jordy myself!

Now I need to wait again... For the next book that will be released hopefully soon... 😁

You know, when you read Vicki’s books, and meet her MMC, you think “oh, he’s my favorite” and then she writes her next one …
Her Elite Eagles series, each one is my favorite.
Jordy was beautiful, genuine, honest, vulnerable, strong, confident and wanted Lola.
Lola’s life has been kicking her at every turn, parental loss, found sibling, cheating/thieving/stalking fiancé, and then Jordy shows up for her. He’s not her saving grace but a support for her, because even with all those hits, she displays a strength, confidence and a heart full of love to give.
It was only supposed to be one night. Ok, a few times, well… maybe just no strings.
Not only is the sex off the charts hot and intense, but the moments are pure, honest and everything.
I loved EVERYTHING about this book and their relationship. Such a feel good read, with incredible, supportive side characters that showed enough development that you want to read their story.
From my first read of Vicki’s to this one, I have never been disappointed, always fulfilled.

🥵🔥🌶️

The freaking chemistry between these two characters is off the charts! 📈 The tension that leads up to them giving in to each other was so high I couldn’t read it fast enough 😂

I freaking loved this series and I was so looking forward to this next instalment. Jordy was so super swoony 🫠 he would do anything for Lola and he respected her so much, and never pushed her into anything, especially regarding her secret with Wade. Lola was a strong willed FMC and a badass businesswoman, she was fierce when she needed to be and loving to those she cared about. I devoured this book so quickly that I completely lost track of the day 😂 I love it when a book completely hooks you and doesn’t let go and this is exactly what happened to me whilst reading this.

I adored reading their story and I really can’t recommend it enough. This can be read as a standalone but is much better enjoyed after reading Wade’s book as they do coincide with each other. This was a perfect end to the series and I beg of you to not keep us waiting too long for Leon’s book 🥺🙏🏻

Pucking Rebound can easily be read and enjoyed as a standalone, but the reading experience is much richer if read after Wild Blades.

The story of Lola and Jordy is gorgeous. An instalove, brothers best friend, forbidden romance that is so hot, you'll be glad it's been a winter release.

With an almost simultaneous timeline to Wild Blades, Pucking Rebound revisits some familiar scenes but from a completely different perspective, which in my eyes is a genius move on the part of VH Nicolson, author extraordinaire!

As we've come to expect from this wee Scottish lass, her story captures your attention, your heart and your imagination as you imagine yourself 30 years younger and able to compete with Lola in capturing Jordy's attention...she makes the impossible dream feel just a little closer to reality.

Bravo on another amazing read. I can't wait to see what you have in store for us next.

Omg, what a way to end 2024 with this amazing book.
This is the third in the series and can be read as a standalone, but I would recommend reading the whole series.

From the very first page I was hooked, I devoured this book in a day. We have seen Jordy and Lola before but there story is just wow.
What started as a one night stand to get over her horrible ex turns into so much more and an unexpected pregnancy.
The chemistry these two have is outstanding and the spice is so good. Chapter 30!! If any two were meant to be together is these two.
I can't wait to see what comes next @vhnicolsonauthor.

Would also love to see the twins in a book! Think would be hilarious.

Loved book 3 in the series from VH Nicolson

The first part of this book runs alongside book 2 in the series’s but it doesn’t give any spoilers or hints to each couples story.

Jordy is the teammate and best friend of Wade (from book two) and his assistant Lola are friends and following her split he helps her get back on track…… 😉

These two keep their romance a secret for one than one reason all while continuing to a few surprise revels (this is where it links with book 2)

I did love how the FMC warned the MMC about why she was being secretive so it didn’t cause the typical 3rd act break up.

I am praying we get Zane story but also secretly hoping we get some more of Daryl 🥰

What a great book to start the year with. I’ve been so excited for Jordan and Lola’s book and was hooked from the start, I would’ve finished in one sitting if not for new year interruptions lol

Jordan Miller is the perfect book boyfriend, not only is he a smoking hot hockey player but he has a heart of gold.

When Lola catches her fiancé cheating on her, Jordy is there to support her and cheer her up …. And maybe help her get over her cheating ex. The chemistry between these two was through the roof and what started as something casual quickly turns into more.

There’s so many secrets floating around throughout the story and the truth always has a way of getting out.

Elite Eagles book three.
Hockey star Jordan Jordy Miller and Lola Ramsay.
She's pregnant and its not her cheating ex Graham's baby.
A one night stand that turns into more with her brother Wades best friend Jordy, his touch, his whisper, he's an Elite Edmonton Eagle how is she going to tell him and her brother?
This book is so so sexy, wild, fun and exciting to read.
And was hooked on every chapter imaginable through this read. Perfect characters, perfect story and a perfect beautiful ending.
Love moves in mysterious ways and this couple are so dynamic together.
Beautiful just beautiful.

Oh how I love Jordy Miller! The golden retriever who becomes the dominant alpha behind closed doors 🥵 Lola and Jordy’s story is the perfect mix of sweet and sassy. What starts as giving Lola a night to forget turns into so much more, but we can’t always get what we want. Secrets come out, turning several lives upside down. The question is…ca Jordy and Lola find their way back to each other…especially with an unexpected surprise in the mix??

I couldn’t put it down needing to know what happens next. Congratulations VH Nicolson ❤️ I love your stories and can’t wait for what’s next!

everything and more

I could not ask for more in this book!! it had everything from secrets, romantic suspense, spice, love, dreams, and so much more. This book played out like a movie in my mind. My last book of 2024 and it was absolutely perfect. Jordan was the perfect golden retriever in the mouth on this man had me blushing 😊 his want to be there for Lola from the beginning was so so beautiful. Lola as little and kind as she was she was also a bad a** B! I want to be hurt when I grow up and I’m 39 😂😂

I have really liked this series and I think Jordy might be my favourite. He is so kind, considerate, and falls hard and fast for the lovely Lola. They are the best couple. Lola is amazingly strong having lost her father and is waiting to tell her half brother Wade about her and hiding secrets from everyone. Having caught Graham her awful ex cheating and stealing from her she has a one night stand with Jordy but they both have great chemistry and friendship it’s truly lovely.

Didn’t really think you needed the pregnancy trope or the 3rd act blip not really a break.
