Lexana Daevian will do anything to make her mediocre life in Turth more exciting. It’s one of twelve wards created which enable the humans who possess them to channel magic and become immortal. The sole purpose being to protect the oblivious world from darkness. Bottom line - she is absolutely not qualified to hold one. As one of the twelve magic keepers, or Tal’resh, Vallon knows the only way to get the ward back is to kill her. But of course it’s never that easy. To make matters worse, the several millennia old prison holding their long-time enemy, Vesryn Dane, is weakening beyond repair. A war unlike the world has ever seen is coming and they are vastly under prepared.
Wild Soul Rising is a story of adventure, romance and loss but mostly it’s about the journey of self-discovery and the often perilous path back to the soul. It contains explicit sex scenes and dominating themes of enemies to lovers, “why choose,” and violence.

A fantastic fantasy read. Very outlander meets lord of the rings. I loved the magic and how the plot progressed. The mythology too is chefs kiss! I both loved and hated these characters and I honestly enjoy that. I cannot wait for book 2, but I guess I will just have to. Well done Devyn. Give the people what they want! More!

Twice now Devyn Rivers has started my first read of the year with 5 stars! 2025 started with Red Rabbit, then Darling Wildfire!
Well for the fans of all things dark, you NEED to read Wild Soul Rising! Devyn Rivers proves she has what it takes to make it in the dark fantasy world! Wild Soul Rising starts with just the right amount of world building, character development, and that slow burn spice🔥 we all love! This was all needed for the build up to that dark, VERY DARK that we look forward to in this author. This novel has the bonus of a little magic thrown in, who doesn’t love some magic!?!?
I was hooked from the beginning to see what the next chapter brought for Lexana! To avoid spoilers that’s all I will say about that! I will be first in line for both the prequel and sequel when they come out. The only bonus to waiting is that I will get to read this gem twice as a refresher when they do!

Woman! You’re making it hard to wait for these next books.
To be super honest I had a hard time getting into the beginning of the book, but once Lexas character became the bad ass she is, my whole world changed and I could not put it down!
And Dax…. Are you serious, thanks for the tears. I absolutely love him and I pray pray pray that he is coming back in the next book. Cause if he doesn’t…. I will pout. Haha
I just loved the twists and turns and this fantasy world so much! Can’t wait for the next one!

Devyn you did it again and in a completely different genre!!! It was such an amazing experience to be able to beta read this novel for you. It being your first book, first fantasy, and what will be your third published work. I’m not going to go too far into it because I don’t want to spoil for others, but I’m excited for Vallon and Lexa (and others) journey and adventures and cannot wait for them to continue. Release this beauty to the world!

Love this author and it was exciting to read her first fantasy novel! Definitely give this a read if you love a good fantasy story full of great characters, a complex story, and of course the spiciness we have come to expect from Devyn! Can’t wait to read more from her!

Wild Soul Rising was perfect from start to finish! I couldn’t put it down. The world-building, characters, and story all drew me in. The author has created a vivid and captivating universe that I loved exploring. The characters are both deep and badass, with lots of humor, and I found myself fully invested in their journeys. I can’t wait for the next one.
