Viola Mistflow never asked for much. All she ever wanted was to live in quiet luxury among the fae after a life spent struggling and fighting to survive. Unfortunately for her, she was thrust into a plan to revive the Gods that ended up spiraling out of control and left her becoming a version of herself she could never have imagined.
Now, after a stupid yet calculated decision, Viola finds herself at the whims of a deranged God and separated from her companions. Unable to escape, she turns to an unexpected resource in hopes of freeing herself from the Frostweaver's clutches. A high priest awaits her within the city of Ytopie, ready to help her find a way to return to her friends and recover the Spring artifact so she can bring back the remaining Gods and end Himureal's reign once and for all. It won't be easy, but Viola Mistflow is up for the challenge.
When loyalties are questioned, history is in doubt, and facts are flexible, Viola must decide whose truth she can believe and what sacrifices are necessary to build a better realm.
The Eternal Equinox is the riveting conclusion of the Shadowweaver Trilogy, a fantasy romance journey through the realm of Krillium. In this book, you can expect foul language, explicit content, fantasy violence and gore, and more. This book is adult and recommended for those 18+.
Viola Mistflow's story concludes in The Eternal Equinox.
Holly Monroe reluctantly lives in Florida with her husband, two kids, and two rescue pups. She's never met a character she couldn't traumatize, but she always gives them their happily ever afters.
All I can say is Holly did an outstanding job finishing this story. I cried, laughed, screamed at the book. There were twist and turns that I didn't see coming. You get action, spice, loss and suspense. The way that Viola grew was just amazing. I love me some Mace. Please read the trigger warning. I am sad to see that we are at the end but the way that Holly ended it was just beautiful. I will be needing a physical copy like now. I can't get enough of this author. I will keep coming back for more.
I had the privilege of being an ARC reader, and the full series is a 5 star read for me! Incredible story, written so amazingly throughout each book. Seriously, everyone should be reading this!
I was expecting this book to start very dark based on where our FMC ended up at the end of book 2, but the amount of reflection and insight our heroine managed to gain was the best form of character development Holly could have written for us. I wasn't able to predict much along the way, but I was hooked throughout the whole book.
The multiple POVs in this book were done so well. The time jumps in the end were exactly what we needed to close out Viola's story.
This book was such a great ending for the trilogy. There were parts where I was sobbing, smiling super hard, or even laughing out loud. I was lucky enough to be an ARC reader for the second book as well and I just love her writing style and these characters in the story. Halfway through the book I had no idea how she could wrap up the book that well, but Holly did a fantastic job at it. The spice was there but didn’t overpower the storyline. I love her writing style in general and can’t wait to read her other series or any other stories that come out in the universe of Krillium. Side note, if I hadn’t started this book the same week that classes started I probably would have been done in 2 days. I was speeding through the book and didn’t want to put it down.
If you have followed my ravings about books for a while one thing you’ll know is my mad love for Holly Monroe’s Shadowweaver series and the fact it’s a criminally under rated romantasy series. I was lucky enough to ARC read the final book in this trilogy and HOLY HELL did we get the ending we deserve. I loved the multiple POVs and how the voices were so clear and the characters so well formed and thought really hard topics were handled brilliantly, I love a fantasy with depth. We get so many perspectives and it is done exceptionally. I thought the ending was also perfect and left me feeling content and that every characters story was wrapped up BUT HOW CAN THIS BE THE END?
I don’t want to give too many spoilers because I hope any one who reads this review stops everything to go and read the first two books. The story follows Viola, our glorious, badass FMC who I’ve grown to love so much and feel so connected to over the 3 books, who must escape the Frost weaver, to locate the Spring artifact, bring back the remaining Gods, and end the reign of Himureal.
I really enjoyed this last book it moves seamlessly through the remainder of the story! We find the same group of friends/family attempting to harness the high priest journals and banished god artifacts in order to bring Himureal's siblings back. Viola is not sure if she is doing the right thing and wants to believe Himureal is not that bad. Until she ends up imprisoned, finds her high priest, and eventually finds her way back to the main group. Zeph gets the chance to make up for his bad behavior but will he be able to reconcile with Mace? Will Morrow and Tulip ever cross the line and express their feelings? Will Viola bring the gods back? There is so much packed into this book and my favorite part is the Eternal Equinox. The found family expands and so does the world building. the epilogues (yes plural) are also great and help with any lingering questions. Highly recommended!!
This book wrecked me and also put me back together. I love Viola and have loved her story, and am sad to see it at an end, but Holly gave her a wonderful story, start to finish. There are some hard moments to read, and there are some pieces that had me sobbing in public so much that strangers asked me if I was okay, but it was beautiful.
I didn’t want to fight anyone in this book like I wanted to fight Mace in the last book.
I giggled and kicked my feet in some spots (characters having their first romantic moment in a very inopportune spot got me).
We get some solid redemption arc moments too, and I am a sucker for a good redemption arc.
Even when it hurt my feelings I loved this book. Read this series. You’re going to love it.
"I'm not sure how just I am anymore. Because after what happened here today, I do not think I have the power in me to be just anymore. No, I think after all that has unfolded, I am no longer a cruel but just God. I think I am just cruel.”
This was such a good ending to the trilogy!! Honestly, everything really did wrap up perfectly. I loved how at the end we got to see how everyone was doing years later as well. It was great to see how much Viola has evolved since the first book, and I really appreciated Zeph’s redemption arc.

What an amazing end to an era. Viola has become what she's been training for since becoming the vessel. She's honed the magic of all of the seasons and encountered many trials. She forged bonds and created her own family through this impossible journey. And now, her story has come to an emotional close.
This was a long one, but each step of the way was so important to how Viola has developed as a character, and how she will lead the land of Krillium into a new era. The old gods were selfish and cruel. Viola is cruel but not selfish. With Mace and Tulip by her side she can do anything.
This was so well done, and I am sad that it's over but so happy to have been along for the ride!
Great end to the series!! I loved all the growth from the characters. Having multiple povs really let you get to know everyone and fall in love with them. I felt like everything was wrapped up nicely and not rushed.
Nothing we do is easy or straightforward. But my love for you is. My love for you is the most uncomplicated thing I have. That's not to say loving you is easy," Mace laughs, shaking his head. "In fact, it's the exact opposite. You're a pain in the ass, Viola. And yet, my love for you flows easily through my veins, and I never question it. There is never a moment when I do not love you."
What a beautiful ending to a thrilling trilogy! I was lucky to be an arc reader for this final book and I was at the edge of my seat and could never have expected the twists and turn it took. Viola has always been who she says she is but has been amazing to see her grow into her role and the way she loves her group. The book had me sobbing, laughing and left me so happy for our heroine and her found family. Holly did an amazing job ending this series and I look forward to reading more about Krillium!
Easily one of the best books I’ve read in the last 10 years and one of the best endings ever. The cycling of gasps, laughter, and crying throughout this trilogy, but especially in this final book…equal parts enlivened, healed, and challenged me.
I don’t write many reviews, but just had to say something with this one. It was flipping amazing…I don’t know how that story and those characters all came from one person’s mind…but thank you, Holly Monroe!
Fantastic story, the world building was excellent. A great ending to a great series. I’m sad it is over and I’m looking forward to more from this world
Holly did a fantastic job with the entire trilogy. It’s been a while since I cried reading a book, but this one definitely got me in a couple spots. All the emotions were felt with this book- anger, sadness, worry. Thank you Holly for the unforgettable journey!
I laughed, cried and screamed. The perfect ending to this trilogy. I was crying when I read the last chapters because I knew that I would be saying goodbye to this story, and I really love the characters!
What I love about this series as a whole is how there's room for all the characters to grow. They aren't perfect, but they love each other, call each other out, and extend grace. I loved that while there is a romance storyline, the platonic relationships are treated with equal importance.
Viola is such a powerhouse of a female main character. From believing that she should be going through life alone to be strong, to learning and believing that she is worthy of being loved and also has so much love to give to others. The kind of person that you would want beside you when the whole world goes to hell.
The Shadowweaver trilogy was Holly Monroe's debut as an author. If you haven't read her work yet, I say you should do so with a quickness!

I received an ARC from the author. My opinions are my own.
