Marriage…or mirage? She'd gone to the desert to escape from the past. And in Nathan Trehearn's arms, Georgia Maitland thought she'd found her future. The honeymoon wasn't even over when reality intruded in the shape of Nathan's a glamorous woman who claimed to be "Mrs. Trehearn." Had their desert wedding been merely a mirage?
Alexandra Scott was born in a small Scottish village. She married an English soldier, and their travels, which took them to the Far East and various parts of Europe, proved to be good preparation for her later career as a writer. She had always wanted to write a book but was reluctant to actually try until she and her husband eventually settled in Yorkshire and he signed her up for a writer’s course.
Well, at the very least we didn't get one of those separated for years/secret baby when the h abruptly leaves the H after the OW causes trouble.
But some of the stuff was ridiculous! After knowing about the bad experience that the h had with the (unseen but talked about) OM, you'd think he would have told her about the OW, just in case she showed up (which she did) to cause trouble.
And the whole story of who the OW was (wife/could-have-been sister-in-law/mother of his niece/or maybe not?) was just plain DUMB!
It's only the whole desert background and atmosphere that made me give it an extra star.
Smarting after a disastrous affair with a married boss, Georgia rushes into the desert in pursuit of inspiration for a new collection. There she becomes infatuated with a mysterious marine biologist and agrees to marry him only to find he’s already married.
