Just when you think you've mastered the game, love throws you a curveball—or in Sydney’s case, a puck (or two).
My job as the Chicago Blizzard's addiction specialist is supposed to be simple. A drunken—and very public—bar fight means that the team needs some good PR, so I’ve been hired to treat the three players involved.
Sure, I’ve never worked with professional athletes before, but they’re just people like anyone else, right?
For me, it’s a chance to start over. New city, new career, and a permanent break from men after escaping my asshole ex.
But it’s not just the players’ sobriety on the line—it’s the entire season. No pressure!
And it turns out that everyone on this team wants my advice. Like Tyler, the beautiful backup goalie struggling with his sexual identity, and DJ, the scorching-hot forward whose flirtations are impossible to ignore.
They’re not technically my patients, but when two men this stacked ask for help, how can I say no?
And if they ask for more…well, I’m going to have a lot of trouble saying no to that, too…

Syd, DJ, and Ty’s story was as sweet and great as it was heartbreaking.
Normally in throuple or even why choose romances, the polycule is built mainly around the FMC. But in Pucking Amazing, this polycule is built around our MMC DJ, the playboy who has never settled down.
All three MCs struggled in one way or another, but when Syd’s trauma crushes her and blows up everything, my heart absolutely broke.
This is a really great read. If you haven’t read Emma’s story in book one of this series, that’s okay. These are stand alone’s and you really can read this without reading book one… BUT I also highly suggest reading Emma’s story.
Spice in this was hot and often but nothing super kinky or intense.
This book was enjoyable however, I felt like there was not enough plot to support the spice and for a hockey romance, I didn’t feel like there was enough hockey in it. It was still a cute quick read if you’re into why choose hockey romances.

This is another hockey romance ( and also book two in a series) and maybe because there are already so many of them, it seems the author had to spice them up and making a difference by additionally bringing in budding polyamorous relationships.
The inner conflicts the three main characters in this part of the series have to go through are realistically written, and the usual elements in a hockey story that are topics like a struggling team, returning of old injuries, missing self-confidence, having to overcome the hurt and influence of bullies, coping with over the top ambition… all that typical topics we already know and have read about in other hockey stories, are part of this story too.
Additional to that the female main character’s profession is being a counselor for the team and her job description contains taking care of some players who suffer from addictions, and some, who struggle with anger issues or need a bit support in being able to finally solve their family problems.
The spicy scenes sometimes are a bit detailed for my taste, and after suffer… arrh reading through a few, it was a good solution for me to turn the pages fast until the scenes reached their natural end.
There also are a lot of feelings involved and especially DJ, one of the heroes, even if he at first seems to be a very superficial character, turns out to be great, especially in expressing his feelings and he is also warmhearted, sensitive and open for the needs of others from the beginning. The other one, Tyler has some problems learning to understand himself and his gender identity towards his love interests and he has to learn coping with the pressure of carrying so much responsibility for wins and losses as the only goalkeeper of the team, because the main one suffers from an injury. And there is also his big brother, a former NHL player who always finds something he can criticise about and never has something good to tell about his little brothers actions in a game.
The story is entertaining and well written and a bit demanding, regarding the many psychological aspects of the story.
Recommended for adult readers who want to discover new aspects in a hockey romance and who also enjoy detailed written spicy and steamy scenes.

I love books from this author, so this one was just okay for me. I like that they have brought in mental health issues and things of this nature.
What i didn't much like was in the personal relationships with the woman. Both male hockey players had their own issues they had to deal with and was great they helped each other. Example, when she was dealing with everyone's problems and Michael came in and called her disrespectful names, she had flashbacks to her abusive ex. She still ran out after this long day to help her "bf". Who treated her like crap. Though he than went after his other partner having issues and in the time made no attempt like he ever did with the boyfriend. Though after screwing his brains out, sleeping, waking again and than doing it over, they than thought of her so she could listen to them screw some more.just a nice way to say we thought annoy how bad we both been treating you, now listen to us.
Like I said all these characters had issues, but I disliked that she was last for them and she just acted like that was OK. Sorry I been then and that is why I think that this was very disappointing! When she was spiraling because of what she went through, thru only have her calls. When she quit? Thru only called. They had to leave in a few days. When either one of them had issues, they were on top of that shit.
Im sorry, I read a lot of books and mostly they don't give me a reason to write a review, but when I been there, its like how could someone write a characters to Judy be okay with being lesser than the boyfriends? Is it because they think she is desperate. That's what it seems.
The ending i didn't like either. She is moving on. The boyfriends only respond that it be ok. No definite stuff. Just be okay. So not that that she is worth anything. Just up in the air. Im sorry, but she seems to be a planner. Most people who been here, would be.
I enjoyed this book so much more, there was more depth and development and the characters really managed to make you feel for them. There wasn’t as much of that in the first book, Lukas x Ryan was super rushed and it felt more sexual with Emma and the MMCs, even with their connection. While DJ and Emma had some similarities with how they approached the beginnings of the relationship, all the characters def felt different than the first book. I do wish we had gotten some MMF and not just MFM, but I still felt like the MM was connected to their relationship with the FMC. I really did not love the first book, but had wanted to read this one before I knew it was #2, and I’m glad I took a chance on it. I loved the way everything developed, besides DJ in the beginning (I did understand at the same time I didn’t like it lol). Even though the separation hurt, it was a good hurt and really gave everyone the time to figure themselves out, though I wish there was more after the ‘grand gesture’ scene and not just smut and a rando baby shower. I kinda hope Mikey gets a redemption story, even if it’s not connected to the Blizzards or something, but I hope it’s a RH and not just MF/MM because I can really see him benefiting from that group dynamic even if he isn’t into ⚔️.
Ok to start I haven't read the first of this series as of writing this, it is not necessary I think there are maybe minor spoilers but nothing groundbreaking. I loved this, I've been feeling a bit eh about reading lately but this was so easy to read, I flew through it. the main three all had chemistry, and the storyline made sense. I had little to no complaints; I just felt like the world around the main three was a touch flat. How did Emma and Sydney know each other? do I know almost anything about Selena despite the fact they are twins and seem to be close? Not really.
C/Ws- side characters have drug and alcohol abuse problems, physical violence, trauma and flashbacks from a verbally abusive partner and family member Spice- MMF, very light dom/sub, spanking, dirty talk, DP,bi-awakening read again- yeah man recommend- for people who like a third-act breakup, who like messy characters especially ones with a bit of a saviour complex.
It’s hard to imagine that a ménage book could be sweet, but this one is - and hot, steamy, emotional and angsty! All three - DJ, Tyler and Sydney - have baggage to deal with but attraction becomes support becomes need becomes love. Sydney, coming off an abusive relationship, had to learn to turn off the awful, denigrating voice in her head (and should’ve gone to counseling herself LONG before she did!) and ask for and accept what she needs and wants. Tyler had to distance himself from his overbearing and verbally abusive brother and learn to accept ALL of himself. DJ had to learn to have faith not only that others could love and accept him but that he could fully love and give of himself. It was an emotional journey, not just a sexual one and it was often two steps forward, one step back. Very moving read!

4/5⭐️ 3/5🌶️ An unexpected surprise! This is book 2 in an interconnected series. I was immediately thrown into the story and felt the characters were extremely relatable. This book as multi-pov, which really brings it home for me! It follows DJ, Tyler and Sydney in their journey of finding love while balancing careers, family and personal acceptance. Tyler is the hockey boy next door while DJ is the seductive hockey playboy with a heart of gold and Sydney is the girl they both want. I really appreciate the mental health rep and I think the author took the time to describe the process and difficulty one can have finding themselves again after an abusive relationship. The book does discuss addiction, so take that into consideration. You do get some spicy scenes: it is MMF/MM/MF. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily. Overall a good read and I look forward to the next book in the series!
I enjoyed this book more than book 1 because the connection between the characters was much clearer. I especially loved the bond that grew between DJ and Tyler. That awakening story is really one of bravery. DJ don’t really develop in the story, besides get braver about settling down. There wasn’t really any angst in that direction. Now Sydney was slightly annoying. I get that she had baggage from her past verbally abusive ex. But she never really tells the guys about it, she just reacts and breaks things up. And we don’t find out how she finally got out. I didn’t really feel like she grew in this. More like the was one way, then blew her life up. Then she experiences their grand gesture and everything is fine and she’s suddenly brave. I really don’t see it. The sexy times were ok. It kind of happens and then everything stops. Then Starts again and suddenly stops. Nothing really lasts for very long until more drama happens. Gets frustrating.
After reading book one, I was excited to dive back into the Blizzards! Sydney, DJ and Tyler’s story had my smiling and laughing and even tearful at times. A lot of times, books like this, even when told from multiple POVs still seem to focus heavily on the female main character. I like how forward this book felt with DJ and Tyler, their struggles in the relationship between them and how they both accept that. With DJ realizing he wants more than just the physical with Tyler, learning he can be poly and have love and acceptance from Sydney and Tyler. And with Tyler, with his struggles of his sexuality and being poly. I also like how tis book focused a lot on mental health and addiction. Even people that have it all and are so strong and confident can be hurting and struggling, its easier to put on a mask and pretend then to be open about what is going on in your life and head.
Let me preface this by saying, I did not read the first book in this series nor was I previously familiar with this series or author. I selected this book because I was looking for a fun escape and that's exactly what I found. This was such a fun, easy read, so easy that I ended up binging it in one evening. While the scenarios in the book are over the top, that's what makes them fun. The writer tunes into a very fun fantasy and offers just enough story to make all the steaminess fun and not out of place. There is a lot of steaminess and its a lot of fun, so if you aren't into relatively graphic sex scenes or like your sex scenes very vanilla, you might want to move along. I love a good sports romance and that's what this was… filled with gratuitous steamy fluff. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
While I really enjoyed book one of this series, Pucking Amazing just didn’t hit that same sweet spot for me. I felt s if there could have been more character development before just diving into all the spice. While this book did bring up some interesting topics (addiction and domestic abuse), it felt a little flimsy.
That being said, I did enjoy the progression of Sydney’s professional confidence after leaving her controlling past relationship - even though she had some regression, we got to see her overcome that and move forward.
Overall, this book was a quick read and ultra spicey - doesn’t everyone need a DJ in the life? And Tyler is just the sweetest.
Overall I give this 3.5 stars, as I just wanted to see a little more from the character development.

Tropes: drug addiction, bi-awakening, mental health issues, MM, MF, MMF, hockey romance
I loved Sydney, Tyler and DJ story. It’s fast paced book as I couldn’t put it down similar to the first book. Though can be read as a standalone few of the characters in the first book show up in this book as supporting characters. Sydney coming out of an abuse relationship starting over again at the Blizzards Chicago Hockey team. DJ the resident playboy and Tyler the moody goalie are such a unique throuple. The bi-awakening was slim at best. I wish there was a storyline with the twin sister. I do think the first book was better as it walked through in more detail the character development.

I didn’t read the first book, but you can bet I will now! This book has loads of steam, but even better, it touched on a few important issues like abusive relationships and addiction!
I really liked Sydney and felt for what she had gone through in her last relationship. I really liked Tyler! His identity crisis along with his crush really drew me in. While I liked DJ, I also felt like he was big player and should have been more upfront with Syd and Ty sooner.
As much as I liked them as individuals, they were amazing together! I love how they really tried to help each other with their issues!
I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
I’m a sucker for a hockey romance. This was an interesting take on a hockey team with PR issues related to substance abuse issues. I loved that the FMC is an addiction counselor brought in to help realign this team such a different story line that I most definitely haven’t experienced before.
This was a fun quick read for me, as I couldn’t put it down once I started 😅 I would definitely read future books….and probably back track to book 1 since I didn’t read it

It took me a while to get into this book. There was something in the beginning that made me feel the ick, that I had to put it down before I could come back and finish it.
I liked how each character had their own kind of plotline throughout the book, and it wasn't just focused on one person.
I didn't like how they all were instantly ready to fall into bed with each other, and it was fast-paced. It kind of put me off Dj in the book.
I don't know if I would have finished the book had I not had to review it at the end.
This is a fun quick read. Sydney, Tyler and DJ had amazing chemistry and definitely brought the spice. I loved the way their relationship developed. I really like Tyler and DJ together. Their character development was great. Sydney bothered me a little bit. She was upset about not being there for her patients and then just abandoned them. Other than that, I really enjoyed the book. It was the perfect amount of hockey, spice and drama.

Once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down! I got through this book in a day! I may have stayed up later than I should have but I couldn't help it. This book is a fantastic hockey and RH book. The characters (Syd, Ty and DJ) are great and the storyline hooked me from the start. I don't want to give details and spoil this book for anyone but please read the book summary for some information. I highly recommend reading this book!
I love a good why choose! This one is just as delicious as the first one!! I was lucky to grab an early copy of this one and I hope Alexis brings more to us!! She does a great job keeping you on your toes and keeping your interest in the relationship building. I loved the way that she brought these men into Syds life and how they worship her!! This was sexy and wonderful. I would highly recommend this title to any of my friends!!
I couldn't put it down! This book is wonderfully written. Syd, Ty and DJ are great and the storyline hooked me from the start. I don't want to spoil this book for you by giving too many details. If you enjoyed the first book I definitely recommend you read this book! I will say this one hit a little close to home for as far as the substance abuse goes!!!!

Really enjoyed this! I read the first book awhile ago, but you don’t have to in order to enjoy this one. The characters were great, loved sensitive Tyler, fun DJ, and Sydney, who’s growing, opening up, and exploring. They go through a lot together, I liked the support, mental health representation and recovery, pro bi and inclusiveness. Was really nice. This is spicy, lower plot, just enough hockey talk.
Honestly, I had trouble finishing this book. The characters were overall well written. They had challenges that you can easily predict exactly what will happen- but that’s not a bad thing per se. I just got bored so maybe just not for me. It was a very well written MMF romance.
I did listen to it on audio and I think the narrators struggled to capture the personalities well which made it hard. Maybe try in physical copies? idk
Alexis did an amazing job with these characters. They were well thought out, and she made my heart break right alongside theirs. But the nice thing about this heartache was that she soothed it better.
She balanced her spice with plot (my favorite mix!), and she kept you searching for closure for all the MCs throughout the book.
This was a great read and an extension of the Team Players series. I can't wait to see what she does next!
Boooo bro this was yuck. Idek what I thought this was gonna go like but not this man. Assumed there’d be some spark but the only spark was a gay one. No way they even thought of this girl while they effed. I am over these book man with no emotional connection. The whole time I read this I thought about the almost 3 some I had w two guys and it just made me bummed it never happened. The boys should’ve just ended up together and left her add behind. SORRY
Alexis can do no wrong with hockey/RH 🖤 As soon as I started reading, I couldn't put this down! Between the 3 main characters, I absolutely loved their dynamic and were beautifully well written. The spice yet again 🥵 especially with the two male MC'S was 🔥🔥🔥 I would definitely recommend this to everyone again like I did the first book, especially if you love a good hockey romance 🏒
This was a really great sequel and I think I may like it even better than the first book in the series. I loved all the characters and the banter and chemistry they had together. Would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys hockey romance, why choose romance, forced proximity, and workplace romance tropes. Thank you to Alexis Barlowe and BookSirens for the ARC of this story.
This book was Pucking Amazing! It is my first book by Alexis Barlowe and I really enjoyed how she writes her romances! This is such a great hockey, why choose romance filled with lots of emotion and spice!
Loved the chemistry between Sydney, D.J., and Tyler! I really enjoyed the mutual attraction between all three of them. Both Sydney and Tyler had crushes on D.J. and once Syd found out Ty had a feelings for D.J. she was wiling to bow out. However, D.J., had other plans in mind because he had feelings for both Syd and Tyler that he wanted them all to explore together.
I really was impressed with how well the mental health topics were navigated through out the course of this book. From the addiction, depression, and emotional abuse aspects they were portrayed so openly and honestly. I loved that the main characters were able to trust, rely on and open up to one another; they offered so much comfort and solace during tough times.
This is a must read for lovers of why choose, hockey romances! The characters and plot are so well developed, and add in the spice makes it fantastic!
Thank you to Books Sirens & Alexis Barlowe for the early copy to review!
Pucking Amazing was pucking amazing! I loved how Sydney felt the instant attraction to Tyler and DJ even though she tried to push it out of her mind. Well that can only work so well when you see them every day... I loved watching them all work through their personal struggles bringing them closer together.
Having previously read the previous book in the series I was excited to read this. The book follows 2 hockey player Dj and Tyler and the new addiction counsellor Sydney.
Sydney is coming out of an abusive relationship. The book is fast paced and easily read in one sitting.
