FIRESTORM BECKONS YOU INTO THE DEPTHS OF THE COSMOS...Captain Aaron Decosta, a decorated starship commander, embarks on a clandestine mission across the uncharted expanses. But fate has a twist in store when his vessel is swallowed by a cosmic maelstrom, leaving him and his crew stranded on a world shrouded in mystery and danger.

Back on Earth's galactic frontier, Colonel Michael Decosta receives the harrowing news of his son's disappearance. Bound by blood and honor, he defies the chain of command, embarking on a perilous journey to the Bone Yard—a place where space anomalies distort reality and where no rescue has ever returned from.

As father and son navigate their separate but parallel odysseys through alien terrains and treacherous alliances, their tales of survival converge in a saga of family and warfare. With a reunion their only beacon of hope, they must forge alliances with strangers and face off against unfathomable foes.

The Firestorm series offers an unrelenting adventure of survival, loyalty, and the unbreakable bond between father and son.

This series is an homage to the thrilling pulp sci-fi of yesteryear. Hard science fiction aficionados may want to steer their ships to other galaxies. But if you crave high-stakes battles, unexplored worlds, and encounters with bizarre lifeforms, this is for you!

Captain Aaron Decosta, a starship commander, embarks on a clandestine mission to bring relief to a planet at war. For that, he must deliver a very irrate and aggressive, know it all, to the planet in question where diplomatic measures are to be applied. This must be done stealthly and following a preconcieved plan that the passenger doesn't know about.
But, she persists in criticizing his decisions and threatening him with all sorts of wacky threats.
Upon arrival in the viscinity, the vessel is caught up in a war and attacked on all fronts and must make a choice if he is to survive with his crew.

Back on Earth's galactic frontier, Colonel Michael Decosta receives the harrowing news of his son's disappearance by a close friend and superior, prompting him to embark on a perilous journey to the Bone Yard, the last place his son was seen at. His crew are all loyal to Aaron and don't trust the new colonel upto the time when he reveals that Aaron is his son

Again, this author uses his gift to take the reader on a virtual adventure where treachery, savageness, lawlessness and lack of regard for human life are the norm for the father on one side and where helping the vulnarable as well as trying civility has no place and the price to pay is murder for the son on the other side. I personally foind the book riveting, a page turner and look forward to read the sequel while I rate this book 5 stars and highly reclommend it.

I actually was intrigued by the title, Firestorm, expecting it to be referring to some kind of military clash. Instead it referred to a very interesting group of five planets and the mysterious force that seems to be interacting between these planets.
And it is here that a space anomaly deposited Aaron Decosta on a desert like planet with some very weird aliens.
Space anomalies are exactly that...anomalies. seldom understood and often as dangerous as can be.
Yet this is exactly Michael Decosta, father of Aaron, would venture into for the sake of rescuing his son.
But space anomalies are by far too unpredictable sometimes. As Michael soon discovers when he crashed on a planet as well, but in the midst of what appears to be a war.
So, Firestorm somehow also seems to also confirm my original idea of the title. Just too bad for Michael.
The first book in the series the book ended far too quickly and abruptly for my satisfaction and curiosity.
Oh well, that is one way of ensuring the next in line to be published will het snapped up quickly.
Enjoy.

Facing an enemy blockade of their home planet, Captain Aaron Decosta’s mission is to break out and transport a doctor who has a plague cure which will hopefully open up peace talks. His ship encounters a space anomaly which maroons them in an unknown system of 5 planets, with strange alien creatures and another active war. When his father, Colonel Michael Decosta, learns of the mishap, he takes it on himself to crew a ship for a search and rescue mission. They also encountered the anomaly, which took them to the same system, wrecking them, too. Mr. Young assembles great tales with strong characters that he develops as the story progresses. He always lays out a twisting, turning plot with lots of epic battles to keep me engrossed. I’m looking forward to a lot of entertainment in this series!

In a brief Forward the author tells it like it is:- “this is old-fashioned adventure sci-fi.”
“Firestorm: Beyond the Void” is the first in a nine-part series (or tbh the first couple of chapters in a large book that has been chopped down).
Captain Aaron Decosta, on a dangerous mission, disappears along with his crew and starship.
His father, General Michael Decosta, assembles a crack team to find him … only to suffer the same fate.
Each is stranded on an alien planet (maybe even the same one), along with a handful of survivors, but given the way that this episode ends it could be a long trek.
It's doesn't bring anything new to the table but, in fairness, it's not trying to.
I like sci-fi, have done for decades, and while this isn't quite up to the standards of the 'Golden Age' it's perfectly acceptable.
3 Stars.

Good start to a series,

I hate books peddled as a hook to sell more books. The story is the thing, ans I prefer a book that has a definite beginning, middle and end.
If that's what you like too, this book will disappoint.
It isn't a complete story, and isn't a "stand-alone." This exists only as a hook to whet your interest so you'll buy the next. And the next, and the next after that ad nauseum.
It's a manipulative tactic that I consider disgusting and will not lead me to the next book.
Instead, I'll look to other writers with a story to tell, and can accomplish the job in one shot. Two or three? Okay. Nine books? No. The writer ain't no Tolkien.

I’m not a big fan of serialized books, but I did enjoy FIRESTORM BEYOND THE VOID. It’s an old fashioned science fiction tale of out of control spaceships, honorable soldiers, and crazy, exciting battles with villainous aliens.
Disclosure: I received a free Advance Reader Copy of this book with no strings attached.

Good book, I'm into it.

This book was very interesting and has a different spin on things so far the storyline has been great and to end up somewhere you don't even know about would just have to blow your mind let alone with all different kinds of aliens you don't understand. Well lets see if it stays good in book two.

Enjoyable beginning to the series.

A good beginning to the series. A motley crew is assembled to rescue the protagonist's son, and they are stranded on an isolated planet where they are thrust into it's politics and habitat.

What a story, full of danger and action. Captain Aaron and his crew are swallowed by a Cosmic Maelstrom. Will they be able to find their way out. Absolutely brilliantly written.
