This book was so good and very well written by Meara.
It’s one of my favourite series atm, always lighthearted with a slightly tense angle at times.
This was no different, the characters matched beautifully, the lighthearted banter was funny and helped to ease the reader through the book.
The tension came from the smugglers who were expected to deliver to the caves and the occurrences on the night of the masked ball.
I very much enjoyed the book. I will say though that Imogen was a little frustrating at times if I was him I would have locked her up lol 😂

MOONSTONE LANDING - ANOTHER HIT!
This author is truly gifted. This installment is, so far, the most captivating of the series. This is a gentle love story. No angst. No doubt they belonged together! An exciting mystery complete with an array of who has the most to gain? Who is really at helm of the thievery? A lot of good guys versus good/ badazz guys and girls!! Thank you to this author for allowing the young heroine have a thoughtful and logical mind!!
And a great build up the the h and h’s happily ever after 👏🏾👏🏾

The small town of Moonstone Landing is the setting for the story of Draco and Impgen (I love the names). It is mostly an adventure mystery and secondly a romance. The pace is fast, the mystery is intriguing and interesting. Draco and Imogen have a strong connection from the start, I might even say they talk to each other like they’ve know each other for ages, so I felt that was a bit unrealistic.
Imogen is very clever and a true artist in drawing people and things, but she’s also immature, childish and meddlesome. Often she acts like a small child. For example, when Draco is investigating a site regarding dangerous murder, she can’t be sensible and stay away, despite Draco warning her numerous times. This happened over and over again. And when Draco berated her, she even started to cry. I found her behavior often quite immature and tiresome. I don’t understand why Draco was attracted to her, and put up with her antics. The other thing that I had trouble with, was the fact that Draco was on a secret mission from the Crown, but quite early in the book told numerous people about it, who in turn blabbed about sensitive matters to other people. Draco could hardly keep things a secret in a small town where everyone gossiped, but he only added to the gossip by disclosing so many details. I found that quite unrealistic as well. It was contradictory for him to want to work on his own while talking to and involving so many people, and warning Imogen off but time after time allowing her to get away with disregarding his requests.
The absolute star in the book is Parrot, the dog. I totally loved him; it was a bit silly to make him understand everything that was said but I couldn’t love the dog any less for it. He was just wonderful and truly a trooper!
The book is primarily an adventure mystery and the rebel plot was handled well. The pace was also good; you really want to know what happened to Driscoll, who was involved and how everything would be resolved. I also really liked the Irishman, to be honest. Without spoiling anything, I liked his part in the book a lot. A very, very clever man and a good option for being the main character in another book, if you ask me!
The book is lighthearted but full of suspense and intrige, and that was handled well.

The Butterfly And The Pirate
Another beautifully written romance novel set in the charming village of Moonstone Landing.
The typical 'opposites attract' plot is captivating, it's a good mix of romance, humor, murder mystery, smuggling adventure and a conspiracy against the Crown.
The heroine Imogen is already familiar from previous books, she is Cormac's younger niece and very popular in the Moonstone Landing community. I admit that I found it difficult to warm to her character. On the one hand she is very clever, compassionate and talented, on the other she is too nosy, meddlesome, naive and sensitive. I don't know how many times I wanted to throttle her for her interferences and how many times I thought Draco should be canonised for his patience.
Draco is the exact opposite, he is dutiful, sensible and favors logic over emotion.
If you've read the previous books, you're sure to enjoy meeting the lots of the other characters again.
But my favorite character in this book was Draco's dog Parrot, who I fell in love with from the start.
The book can be read on its own, although I recommend reading the series in order. Draco is quite the opposite, he is dutiful, sensible and prefers logic to emotions.
After the death of his father and older brothers, Draco Waring, a former privateer and smuggler, inherits his father's title and becomes the Earl of Woodley. Draco is ready to settle down, but has no intention of marrying any time soon. He buys an estate near Moonstone Landing and has one last assignment for the Home Office to foil a rebel plot.
To introduce himself to the community, Draco organises a masked ball at Woodley Lodge, where he meets Lady Imogen Stockwell.
He is immediately attracted to her and her romantic antics, but he must fulfil his mission. When one of his guests is murdered during his ball, things get complicated and Draco wants to stay away from Imogen to keep her safe and out of trouble, but the clever young lady won't stop meddling in the investigation and his affairs...
I gladly recommend this book to all readers who enjoy lighthearted historical romances mixed with suspense.

Suka banget sama pertemuan pertama unik antar keduanya sampai-sampai menghasilkan hubungan tarik ulur (terjadi karena adanya konflik), yang bikin aku amaze disini dunianya dibangun dengan sangat apik yang mana pembangunan karakter Hero dan Heroinenya di buat ga seperti romance biasa. As you guys can see Heroinenya tuh suudzonan banget dan main menyimpulkan sendiri udah mana ujung-ujungnya membahayakan bukan cuma Heroine tapi Heronya juga! But, kalian wajib banget baca buku ini biar bisa gemes bersama dengan aku.

The Moonstone Pirate by Meara Platt is the newest entry into this charming series which takes place in Cornwall. Yes, it is a romance. It is all about true love and the moonstones in the bay which will conform that love by shining in the night when love appears on a full moon. The heroine is Imogen, the second of Cormac’s nieces, which have appeared in several earlier books. She and her aunt and uncle to go a costume ball hosted by the earl who had purchased a wreck of a house near Moonstone Landing, and refurbished it. This was to be his introduction to the local gentry. Imogen was dressed as a butterfly and was utterly enchanting, as confirmed by several young men in attendance. Not all had honorable intentions toward her. One of the gentlemen enchanted by her was the Earl of Woodley, himself, Draco Waring. Draco had recently inherited the earldom. He had earlier been a privateer, in service to the queen. In plain fact, he was still in service to the queen as he was working to uncover a rebel plot against the monarchy that was being fueled by smugglers of weapons, who would be using the cave on his property to had the weapons off to rebels.
Meara Platt always writes the best books. They are light-hearted, no matter what the core topic. Her heroines believe in love and seem to convince those around them to believe also. Imogen is such a heroine. She is young, but she is also young at heart. Do not mistake that for stupid or naive, because those things she is not. She wants to help. Draco wants her protected. The two desires do not mesh very well. It is a fun read watching each of them trying to stay out of the way of the other while chasing their own ends. It is a feel-good read that is the latest in this series of feel-good reads. Thanks, Meara Platt!

The Moonstone Pirate is a charming story by Meera Platt; it centres around Lady Imogen Stockwell and her uncle Cormac, the Marquess and their new neighbours, Draco Waring, the new Earl of Woodley who stays with his uncle and cousin. Draco has escaped to Moonstone Landing in the hopes of escaping the marriage mart's determined debutants and their bloodhound mamas who can always sniff out a new title / single and available peer.
Imogen attends the masquerade ball with her aunt and uncle, dressed as a butterfly. It is while she is outside that she meets Draco, and they strike up a conversation. Their chemistry is instantaneous. While conversing with Imogen, Draco notices unsavoury-type young men from London who have also taken an interest in Imogen, and he is determined to stay by her side to protect her from their unwanted attention.
Moments later, one of the men is murdered and Draco is forced to get involved along with Imogen's Uncle Cormac in the investigation. Even though both Draco and Uncle Cormac tell Imogen to stay away, she is too curious and intelligent to want to hang by the side lines and proceeds try to insert herself in the investigation and offer her "services" in the form of hiding Draco's letters to the Home Office in the letters she writes to her sister in London, who will in turn forward them onto the relevant authorities.
There were times I felt for Draco, especially when Imogen was so determined to find things out on her own and put not only her life but also Draco's life in danger.

Moments later, one of the men is murdered and Draco is forced to get involved along with Imogen's Uncle Cormac in the investigation. Even though both Draco and Uncle Cormac tell Imogen to stay away, she is too curious and intelligent to want to hang by the side lines and proceeds try to insert herself in the investigation and offer her "services" in the form of hiding Draco's letters to the Home Office in the letters she writes to her sister in London, who will in turn forward them onto the relevant authorities.
There were times I felt for Draco, especially when Imogen was so determined to find things out on her own and put not only her life but also Draco's life in danger.

I loved the first few Moonstone novels but have found the most recent ones to be a bit of a letdown. The characters are fine, but not overly interesting. I never quite came to like Draco - he acts like he's god's gift to women. I loved the moment when he basically accuses Imogen of trying to catch his attention as a possible future wife for him and she reminds him that he was the one who sought her out, not the other way around. I absolutely hated him constantly calling her "Butterfly" - it just seemed so forced and as though the author was trying too hard to create a bond between them. The mystery part also turned out to be a bit of a letdown. Overall, this book is just okay. I feel like the author missed the opportunity to have Imogen and Draco be partners or a team in the investigation. Instead she just keeps sticking her nose into everything and he keeps telling her that it's too dangerous and that she's just a weak defenseless woman (not his exact words, but that's pretty much the gist of it). This is especially disappointing as when she does need to defend herself she actually does a pretty good job of it. I also thought that Draco or Imogen's uncle could have taken the time to teach her some basic self-defense rather than just telling her that she couldn't leave the house.

Great couple, even though at times I became frustrated with the h putting the H in danger. She was bright and could see the whole picture. At times she was to inquisitive and could have caused the H harm.
I loved his nickname for the h, but some didn't. He met her at his masquerade ball, and he felt a pull towards her from the start. He didn't want to let her know how he truly felt, because his job with the Crown, was dangerous and he didn't want the h in danger.
This is a long story and at times the pacing was slow. A lot of villains to keep the story engaging. Loads of suspense, twists, smart dialogue and banter, violence and the cutest sidekick - dog named Parrot.
Lovemaking within marriage, heat level 3.5 out of 5 and only described once - mildly. Romance builds slowly and they certainly had a connection.
Interesting main and secondary characters. Crossover characters from previous stories intertwined in this one. It's a standalone, but you'll be so taken with this town and his quirky inhabitants that you'll want to read the whole series, which I recommend.

Lady Imogen Stockwell, attends in a butterfly costume & is immediately smitten with Draco as is Draco with her. Then Draco’s dog Parrot alerts him that something is wrong & a young nobleman is found murdered on the estate’s beach. Imogen is determined to solve the murder as well as figure out Draco’s involvement in it, if any.
Another very well written romance, the characters have depth, the chemistry between Draco & Imogen sizzles, there’s intrigue, murder, smugglers & a loveable dog called Parrot. I read this engrossing novel in two sittings & loved it. There is an instant attraction between them but before things can progress one of the unwanted guests is murdered. Now they are plunged into a murder investigation. Imogen knows Draco cannot be the culprit but he is certainly hiding secrets. The two must navigate danger and unravel secrets to find out who the true villains are before they can achieve their happily ever after.
This was a well written lighthearted adventure with a dashing hero and a sweet, clever heroine. There is a lot of involvement by the community including past heroes/heroines from Meara’s books. There were instances when Imogen just should have left well alone though and Draco’s refusal to admit his feelings even though they were glaringly obvious was a little frustrating.
Overall I did enjoy this book and I am going back to read the previous stories. I received an advance review copy from Netgalley and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This is the sixth book of the series and I think this is my favorite of them all. Draco comes to Moonstone Landing thinking he can live peacefully and avoid the dreaded Marriage Mart. He is on a dangerous assignment working for the Crown and it is because of this fact his snoopy, yet beautiful neighbor, Imogen, thinks him to be a pirate. When Draco hosts a ball to introduce himself to society, a murder occurs on his property and this gives Imogen even more reason to believe he is involved in some shady business. She doesn't, however, suspect him of the murder itself, but she is determined to find the real murderer, which puts her in danger. Despite her being such a snoop and suspecting the worst of him, Draco is completely taken with the spirited young lady. And when danger follows her, he will do anything to protect her and keep her safe.
This was a lovely romance with an exciting mystery and the story captured my attention from the start and I was captivated till the end. Draco and Imogen worked well together as a couple and it was fun seeing them together. Although a light-hearted read, it was full of suspense and intrigue and I had a wonderful time reading it.

I've said it before but I want to move to Moonstone Landing:) I've absolutely adored this series and Book 6 just confirms how I feel about this fictional village and its people! I must also say that I think Imogen is one of my favourite heroines by far, she is an absolute delight and sure keeps Draco on his toes! lol
Their story revolves around danger and mystery and it really held my interest from start to end. Draco is working undercover for the Crown and never expected to fall so fast and hard when he meets Imogen. All he wants to do is keep her safe but Imogen loves nothing better than to solve mysteries and is forever putting herself in danger. I must also mention Draco's dog, Parrot....he's so much part of the story:)
The moonstones definitely light up for this couple and it just made my heart happy when they finally reach their HEA. Meara Platt leaves me in awe once again:)

I felt it was more aimed at a younger audience than me! The heroine is a teenager and this becomes apparent with her adoration of the hero. I was surprised that our hero could have been a privateer and captain of a ship at 26. Seemed a bit young to me, I know midshipman started at 11 but I don't think we got that detail. Draco is a bit of an alpha male and doesn't really listen to Imogen at all. He IMO condescendingly calls her Butterfly at every occasion. Most of what she predicts happens but again something that urked me : it was all off screen. Most things seemed to be reported. Only kisses....perhaps because she was so young?
There were lots of previous characters that were helping with Draco capturing the baddie...perhaps he'd been in person in other books I couldn't recall. The irish pirate was the most interesting character!

We are back in the beautiful Cornish seaside town of Moonstone Landing for this historical romance. Our heroine has been coming here every summer since she was a child. Many of her family members have homes there.
Our hero has recently come into his title, and because of his profession, a home near the coast was a must. There are many benefits from living in a small, friendly place, but unfortunately, trying to keep secrets isn't one of them.
This is a wonderfully romantic story with lots of giggles and some danger. Our furry hero is a delight. I think I would have loved to holiday in that town. Everyone is so helpful.
This book is part of a series but easily read on its own. You will meet and hear about the characters from previous books, but not enough to spoil them if you haven't read them yet. I have read and thoroughly enjoyed everyone.

The beautiful cover depicts the dreaminess of Moonstone Landing and that in itself drew my attention. The initial meeting between Draco and Imogen makes one believe in love at first sight although Draco is reluctant to get involved with Imogen until he had settle the matter of the smugglers using his caves. There is a thread of suspense running throughout the novel as well as the sweet attraction between Draco and Imogen, but at times the plot gets bogged down by conversations between the various characters. I was also disappointed that the threat against the Crown had a fairly dull outcome, although Draco and Imogen's story comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this romance as a gift through Dragonblade Publishing and NetGalley and this is my honest and voluntary review.

Nineteen year old Imogen and 26 year old Draco met at Draco's masquerade ball during the same night a man was murdered on his property. Draco tries to solve the murder and Imogen tries to assist him in the investigation. Imogen is a talented artist whose drawings of random townsfolk over the past year end up giving Draco vital clues.
What I did like: that Imogen's drawings were as valuable as modern day photos, and of course, Draco's adorable dog named Parrot. What I wish there was less of: them arguing constantly over whether or not Imogen should be involved at all in his investigation.

Draco and Imogen first meet at a masquerade ball, where he is a pirate and she a butterfly. Despite not being able to see the other’s face both fall deeply for each other, though Draco, like a typical man, is loath to put a label on his feelings. He is already up to his eyes in a secret and dangerous mission for the Crown and the last thing he needs is protective feelings for an inquisitive young woman who seems incapable of following his orders.

(Moonstone Marquess) She's quiet, artistic, wise beyond her years and annoyingly stubborn. Draco is arrogant, his kisses are hot and confusing. His dog (Parrot) is an over-protective oaf and you want one of your own.. There are several side characters that add to the fun and one may warrant her own story when she makes her own debut.

She mirrors Draco’s strength and complements his cynicism with inner innocence. The story revolves around the mysteries and the two of them solving the puzzles while Draco is attempting to keep his feelings guarded. While
Imogene batters at his hatches with her emoting. And then there is his young cousin who is very emotional and all the fun characters of Moonstone Landing. Reading one of these books is like coming home.

Meara Platt doesn’t disappoint! Theres a new pirate in town. Only the he can’t pillage and run through the town to get what he wants requires planning and precision.
These novels in this series are unique amongst themselves. So you can read stand alone or you can find out what has happened in the relatives lives. What a wonderful break from the ordinary.

These novels in this series are unique amongst themselves. So you can read stand alone or you can find out what has happened in the relatives lives. What a wonderful break from the ordinary.

Interesting story, but a lot of running around and hesitation to develop the relationship between Draco and Imogen. I see it from Draco's point of view, but was it drawn out too long? He did keep making advances. How confusing for Imogen. Praise for Draco taking Imogen seriously when she made connections with the villains. Could the book itself have been shorter? Maybe. I'm just glad they finally saw the moonstones.

I have absolutely loved reading this series. It has such brilliant characters and exciting plots that I don’t want each book to end! Moonstone Pirate was no exception. The previous book sets us up nicely as Ella and Imogen have often explored Draco’s caves as children and wondered about pirates. This story sees Imogen meeting not one but two Moonstone Pirates! There is a murder and intrigue abounds in the village of Moonstone Landing. An interesting plot where we get to stay in touch with some of the previous characters from the rest of the series.

This is a delightful story. I recommend it to those who enjoy historical romance with mystery, suspense, and intrigue.

A ball, smuggling, a murder, a pirate and a girl. What more can you ask for in story. Part of the engaging Moonstone series, this story brings Draco and Imogene together. There's a lot of banter between the two which has moments of humor. She's got an imagination and is young. He's a bit pompous. Not necessarily an instant match but one that is entertaining to see come together. Well written and worth following if you haven't read any of the series yet.
