In tightly knit small towns…
Negativity can be murder.
Life is going oddly well for former suburban housewife, Shea Beaumont. Her impulsive purchase of a small farm in central Oklahoma seemed like a bad idea at first. A very bad idea – particularly when even the farm rooster seems to have a vendetta against her.

Feeling alone, with no earthly idea how to run a farm, Shea is determined to learn and grow in her new chosen life, and after a rather rocky start, she’s beginning to get the hang of it, largely thanks to her new bestie, Trish, a farm girl to the core.

With her thoughts and attention focused on the spring planting, Shea is astonished to hear that one of her best customers, Dylan Branch, is suspected of murder because a food critic has been killed after storming out of his farm-to-fork restaurant.

Her customer may be perpetually cranky, but Shea and Trish have serious doubts that he’s capable of murder, so the daring duo dives into a murder investigation.

Can they find the clues that will catch a killer? Or will Dylan’s goose be cooked?

This was another great book in this series. Great characters and a well-crafted mystery.

Poor Dylan was arrested for the murder of a food critic and his crazy family took over running his bistro. I didn’t like him very much in the last book, but the guy was no killer. I enjoyed how Shea sleuthed out just the evidence Seth and his team needed to finalize the case and make their arrest.

There were some great lines mostly had by Trisha, she’s such a hoot! And a nice a nice safe reveal—my kinda good ending! And of course the food and fellowship at the end was pretty cool too.

This is a new series for me, and I have always liked the concept of farm to table cuisine. The goodness is mixed with a dollop of detection and the hard work of maintaining a farm. I am growing close to the main characters Shea and Trish and her large family. The plot is easily followed and the premise is finding out who killed the obnoxious food critic and why. The answers were about as convoluted as expected. I definitely recommend this book and the first one.

Very good

This series just gets better.
Clarence is up to no good lately. He has taken to following and harassing Shea constantly. She has no idea why.
Trish and Shea have just witnessed a showdown at the Bistro during lunch at the Bistro. A rude food critic is making a scene. Dylan tells her to leave. Later, she is found dead.
While Trish is teaching Shea how to get ready for spring, Shea decides to some investigating on her own.
Will she be able to help?

A fun quick read. I love the characters and the stories in this series. Shea and Trish go into investigative mode when the owner of the local restaurant is arrested for murder. A must read to follow the antics of these characters.

Well this was another interesting learning experience in farming and murder investigations! But then what are friends for? How about setting you up with a date, and taking you into their family.

Another short but well plotted story from Ms. Prescott. Well-fleshed out characters, drama, humor, and a judgemental rooster make this another entertaining read.
