I loved everything about this book. Sam and Halle had instant chemistry and attraction to each. They tried to keep the relationship strictly professional but when circumstances pushed them together in the same house they end up giving them to their attractions. But boy does the story takes so many twists and turns considering Haley gets the crash course in Sam's secret lifestyle. I can't wait for the next book in the series!

I tried…
The writing is weird to me. I’m not sure what it is. It could just be me and the way my mind works, but I could not get into this book. I stopped at 41% because I was trying to give it a chance. By the time it got to the first attempt at spiciness, I was over it. The scene was corny.

Wonderful, Absolutely Wonderful…
As always, K.K. has done it again. Hitman’s Obsession is an absolute wonderful read.
Wait… If you haven’t already read the other Mafia Romance books in this series. Then stop and go read them. The storyline flows from book to book, chapter to chapter and page to page. Read separately they are wonderful. But together… WOW.
Hitman’s Obsession pulls at your heart strings, and each character seems to give you their unique abilities. Halle and Sam have a chemistry that will have you thinking and feeling all fury inside.
I’m truly looking forward to seeing who (Nico,lol…) is next.

DNF, just no!
This story started out ok and had the potential to be a good read, but quickly went downhill. Within one week of starting work for Sam, Halle finds out he is connected to the mob. Her life is put in danger and she is now under Sam’s protection. Ok, fine, no big problem. The problem I have is that Halle is basically tied up, gagged, and kidnapped and forced to stay with Sam all within her first week of work. Obviously she’s frightened, but after seeing him in action she’s now not only attracted to him but intrigued. And I’m like give me a break! One day later, she’s hot in the tail for Sam and busting it wide open despite being scared of him just two nights before. When they start saying I love you’s within two seconds and wanting to screw after every trauma, I was done!
I mean, this was just too much too soon and too unbelievable!

What can I say about Sam
He was just sex walking. From their very first meeting there was an unwavering attraction between them. And the harder they thought they were fighting it, it pulled them closer together. And his lifestyle which was hard to accept couldn't keep them from falling in love. Couldn't keep them apart either. Sidnay promised her that he would put everything on the line for her and he did. He loved her enough to let her walk away from him, but she loved him enough to come back. I loved how Dom brought his 'black' wife over to make her feel at ease. It worked. I love dangerous, domineering, sexy men. Thumbs up to this one.

Not a very long book which was good. I appreciated the more real portrayal of a mafia man and the violence associated with the mob. I was disappointed in the reactions of the female lead. Her initial freak out was understandable but for an educated woman, she somehow seemed to be unable to grasp the seriousness of her situation. I cannot fault her Terry at being shot at in a vet's office of all places, but, when you have been given the plain facts, it is then time to start thinking logically about what is going to help you to stay alive, and then go down that path.

What a wonderful story this was. Great characters, who embark on an exciting and steamy journey. The FMC desperately needs a job and finds it with Sam, not knowing that he is a hitman. Feelings cannot be held back and Sam immediately knows that she is his and has immediately found his new obsession. There is drama, action, danger, passion and a lot of steam.

Well, I didn’t see the obsession, however, Sam didn’t take too long to sort out his feelings for the beautiful, brilliant vet, even though she didn’t fit in his lifestyle. However, que sera, sera … nothing can stop destiny, if it’s meant to be, it shall be. Circumstances will forced them together not to mention the attraction between these two are popping 🔥🔥🔥

You Love What You Love
I love a good ride or die story, Sam & Halle says it all. I love that he’s a veterinarian and she when you’re doing something you love and you love someone and you’re working together that’s a love thing. I love the animals in there, too and the secretary with the Crazy sans on the chart outside. I can see myself reading this over and over, because it’s a great story. And I know I will be reading it over and over..

The title is beyond inaccurate. He was NOT in any way, shape, or form obsessed. When she left, he did not even call. For a mafia story, this one lacked real passion. The chemistry only appeared during high intensity moments and deflated during the majority of the second half of the book.

Good Plot and HEA
I did feel like Halle fell for Sam too quickly but with everything that was going on it was understandable. Otherwise, I became really invested in this world to the point that I ran to find Dom's story, which I plan to read next. I am also interested in reading Kat and Nico's stories as well.

This one is pretty good, well-written, love the characters. It has that BDSM feel 😜, desire, mystery, suspense, action, lust, hot sex💥💋👅🔥, all of that 😉.

DNF at 52%. The story is great but the execution is a bit shabby, mixing up details etc that I just find irritating. I lost it when the second time in a row the incongruencies were to pronounced to ignore. The spicy scene was rushed and not believable. Unfortunate because the premise is really cool. I'll try again another time for the plot!!

I don’t usually gravitate towards mafia love stories, but this book showed up as an Instagram ad and sounded interesting. I’ve read a few mafia love stories before and this book felt different than those.
Halle’s reactions to everything were very real and relatable, and I liked that. In the other books I’ve read, the damsel is usually a part of/affiliated with the mafia life or easily transitions into it while Halle was like “nahhh” for most of the book.
I’m not sure of the timeline for all of the events that took place. I thought it was all in a week’s time but at one point someone mentioned it had been months but then someone else said a few days 🤷🏾♀️ The only clear indication of time is in the last chapter which takes place eight months later.
Continuity isn’t this book’s friend. It’s an acquaintance at best. In the grand scale of the story, the continuity mistakes are minute but if you’re like me and need a timeline to properly judge the characters (lol), it’ll frustrate you.
As for Sam and Halle, I don’t really know what to say about them together. The beginning of their relationship was full of denial of feelings, and then when everything went down, it was full of fear, anger, and lust. Then more denial and then reconciliation. We don’t spend a lot of time with Sam and Halle when they’re not f*cking or bickering/arguing, so I can’t really draw a conclusion on them. A conclusion I can draw though is Sam be putting in work, and I love that for Halle. Their last sexcapade in the book was spicy af.
