When truths are revealed But secrets remain concealed The price of victory may be far too high
Henry Wong and the United Planets Alliance Expeditionary Fleet have broken open the blockade their enemies forged around their allies, the Terzan. Now, thanks to that restored alliance, they know the truth of their enemy: a genocidal war machine determined to destroy not only its creators but every other organic sentient it can find.
New tools allow Henry and his partner, Ambassador Sylvia Todorovich, to call on old alliances as they rush to save their other enemies from annihilation at the hands of the Liberated Intelligence.
But against the burning of worlds and the death of peoples, any alliance will be considered. Any hope of victory will require laying aside grudges—and the greatest of sacrifices…

I am slightly disappointed with how this series ended.
The battle scenes were not very descriptive and were over quite quickly, especially the final climactic battle.
There's only so many times a threat facing our heros can be used before it becomes repetitive and a genocidal race/faction trying to glass a planet has been used and reused and used again in this series.
I thought this series had more life left in it and would continue, but the author decided to end it here. I was hoping we would see if the kenmiri would survive and what would happen to the other factions of the Veshron. As it is, the vast majority of the galaxy is still in chaos. But alas, the story ends.
Of all the characters this author has created, Henry Wong has to be the one most like his most renowned character Damian Montgomery. Both are competent in the extreme, are humble to a fault and take personal responsibility for everything. That both also attract equally competent and responsible partners and trouble in similar proportions is also a common point. That character shines in this tale of a headlong rush to prevent genocide, gathering allies and enemies alike its wake, with all the attendant logistical chaos, political backstabbing and personal sacrifice you would expect such a cobbled-up force to generate. Lots of emotional angst and triumphs in the midst of all of this action, so readers hoping for romance will not be disappointed. This is a stirring read and worth savouring!
I received an ARC from the author and I am voluntarily leaving a review
Buckle up for another roller coaster ride into the unknown. Yes, Henry and his team know more about this destructive force in the galaxy, but there are still sufficient gaps in that knowledge to make him uneasy when so much depends on a favourable outcome. Sylvia Todorovich has her work cut out for her in her specialised field. Support is on the way, but will it arrive in time.
Harsh decisions are made as their mixed force navigate their way towards a deadly confrontation with their dangerous enemys in the powerful conclusion to this series. The death toll rises as they make contact. They can run but cannot hide as retribution stalks this enemy.
Thanks to the talented ability of Glynn Stewart, I had some very late nights, so much going on as the plot ducked and weaved towards this ultimate confrontation to bring peace but will their efforts be enough….Thank you Glynn, love the way your players performed.
The last in a series that I did not like too much, but which grew on me. I get the feeling it did not sell too well and this is why the author is rushing through with a half-satisfying ending with some teased ideas that never went anywhere (possibly setting up some hooks for future books). Overall, I am sorry to see this one go, and the strategic component of this universe's tech-scape with skip lines that establish a coherent battlespace was interesting (as opposed to "go wherever you want" hyperspace using settings). My hope now is that this will lead to lower times between Starship Mage books.
This final book in the series wound up in a manner that satisfied me. There were some potential dangling ends that the author left himself open to picking up the series at some point should he want. However, the main story is done from both a diplomatic and military standpoint.
I find it hard to sit down and enjoy king series when there are so many other books on my TBR clamouring for attention. With this series, as with his others, I was completely happy just to keep reading to follow the story.
The crew of the Raven will always have a spot in my heart.
Admiral Henry Wong and Ambassador Sylvia Todorovich and their United Planets Alliance Expeditionary Fleet have discovered that the enigma’s they are fighting are run by a mad AI and it will take the help of their new allies, the Terzan, and the Londu, and surprising allies to find the system holding the renegade AI and destroy it. It’s the crew of Raven's Hope (ebook fromFaolan's Pen Publishing Inc.) that must command multiple fleets against impossible odds. Glynn Stewart is great at spacewar tales and this final to the Peacekeepers of Sol is a gripping fun read.
A satisfying end to Henry and Silvia’s story but the ending and final battle felt a bit rushed. Felt that the last stand of the cataphracts was a more epic battle. Would love to see follow up stories from this universe. Maybe with Henry and Silvia’s children with the children of the Londu scion.
What a finale! Or is it? Lots of spinoff possibilities in this multi-layered universe with plenty of action, characters that continue to grow and unexpected plot twists. Looking forward to whatever comes next in this universe.
This was a solid book in the series. Not sure if the story continues but if not this was a fitting ending. The characters were enjoyable as in the other books.
Thank you so much Glynn Stewart and narrator. I will truly miss traveling with Henry Wong and Slyvia. Please enjoy reading and listening to this series I did.
The series sputters towards a somewhat unsatisfying finale that leaves way too many questions and unexplored drama that could have provided a more fitting end.
The ring of life and death is a burden to bare. I strongly recommend this adventure. Well-written and thought out. Going to be looking for more of Stewart's books.
