Flawed characters. Enemies to lovers. Banter, hell yes, all the banter.
The accident. Teddy.
Grief coils in my stomach like a saw-scaled viper: aggressive, lethal, terrifying. Grief just might kill me.
But I’m not dead. Teddy is.
It’s months before I can really bring myself to talk to anyone, months before I start to feel like I didn’t die right there in the car beside my kid brother.
Barrett, probably the most persistent person I’ve ever met, drags me back to the land of the living.
It hurts.
But Avery, his twin sister, without a doubt the most annoying person I’ve ever met, might just be worth living for.
If she doesn't kill me first.
Passion for music fuels this series about a band of misfits. Wonderwall brings together a cast of characters you can’t help but love (and occasionally love to hate). Is this a comedy or tragedy? Much as in life, the answer is both. Witty, poignant, irreverent, Wonderwall will charm your socks off.
Told with a background of 90s music, with an eclectic cast of characters, this book explores grief and healing. Isaac moves to a smaller town after a family tragedy and is befriended by the twins next door, Barrett and Avery. Soon, he's dragged into their friend group, complete with all the drama of senior year.
This interesting story reads like a movie that breaks the fourth wall, as it's told in a mix of first- and second-person. It was an enjoyable (and heartbreaking at times) story that ended on a cliffhanger. I look forward to reading the next in the series.
I pretty much read this book in one sitting, it was that good!
I grew up in the '80s, not the '90s when this story takes place, but many teenage traits are universal. Many of characters reminded me of high-school friends.
This story is fast-paced and entertaining, the characters are relatable, funny, and annoying, sometimes all at the same time.
This book is the first installment of a story about teens that are on the cusp of becoming adults but still in that awkward in-between stage. Tales of grief, unrequited love, jealousy, betrayal and simple friendship fill this story to hold your attention til the very end.
The music references are awesome and got me playing some tunes I haven't listened to in forever.
I am eagerly awaiting the next installment of The Unplugged series.
