Channon belongs to Jack—that's just a fact. But they aren't an island, and if Channon's going to get the happy-ever-after he wants, Jack's going to have to bury the hatchet with (and not in) the one other person in Channon's life whose disapproval matters.
I absolutely adore this series. But when you wait so long between books there’s always a part of you that wonders if you’re still going to be invested. I shouldn’t have worried.
This 40th installment was so damn good. Jack, Channon, Nate, Ewan. Their relationships with each other are so complex and I devoured each and every word off the page.
Channon has gone to a conference with Nate. Jack is back home with the prickly as ever Ewan. I thought I knew how it was going to go. But was pleasantly surprised at how this turned out. As the title suggests, finally there’s some common ground found between Jack and Ewan. And I am totally here for it.
There was very little sex in this one but the writing is so good that I barely noticed. I love how this series is ever so slowly unpacking every piece of their puzzles. Who they are to each other.
How it’s going to play out eventually? I’m still not sure. But I’m here for the ride.
I’m still blown away that the first unassuming little story of this series got me hooked on what has turned out to be one of the best relationship stories of all time.
RJ Moray as usual covering more ground in 90 pages than most authors do in 300. Damn, I thought this was going to be one thing and it ended up being three things in one - the Channon story, the Jack story, *and* the Jack and Ewan story… and I’m dying to see where Moray goes next.
I loved getting back to Jack and Channon. I’ve missed them something fierce. It’s been a minute since I’ve read the other episodes but I was easily sucked back into their world.
Episode #40 brought with some surprise. I loved how much Ewan we got. I feel like I got to know Channon’s best friend better. I loved that Jack helped him and they had a bonding session. Channon needs his sir and best friend to get along. I loved seeing vulnerable Ewan.
I hope Nate and Jack get back some balance in their friendship. I love how Jack has Channon and Nate has Ewan. I feel like Channon was dropping us some hints on what’s to come. I love when these two couples play together. 🤞🏻
I’m so excited for some more of these two, or should I say these four. RJ Moray I can’t wait for the next episode. You didn’t disappoint with this one.
Oh how I've missed Jack and Channon! And Nate and Ewan too. Everyone is back in this next installment of this addictive series. I cannot believe how much character development and growth was packed into 89 pages! Nate and Channon went to a conference together and had some great interactions, but Jack and Ewan spending time together was next level! Finally some of the barriers came down and they spent time together and both walked away understanding the other a lot more than before. I cannot wait until the 4 of them play together again in an upcoming book! This was slightly lower on the steam than some of the others but I didn't miss a thing. It was the perfect amount and left room for the 4 men to shine. Loved it!
This installment was a little different in that it split the characters up for part of it, so Jack spent time with Ewan and Channon spent time with Nate at a conference. I really do think it was an important step in helping Jack and Ewan find common ground (very aptly named) before things progress further, especially since the four of them are and will continue to be close.
I loved seeing the differences between Ewan and Channon so clearly highlighted, with Ewan being his usual bratty self and Channon adorably ready to please.
The kink is always handled very well, and it’s so fun to see Channon discover new things about himself!
Common Ground is a great addition to the HBND series. This particular episode focuses more on the interrelations of these 4 as the navigate the future. It will always be Jack with Channon and Ewan with Nate, but there's a future where these four will always be inextricably intertwined. Jack and Nate. Channon and Ewan. Best friends and more.
This book was a bit of a departure from previous installments in that much of this installment focuses not on Channon and Jack, but Ewan and Jack. Jack recognizes that Ewan will always be there for Channon and we know that Jack would do anything for his boy, so he works to bury the hatched with Ewan. It was very sweet to Jack pushing himself and getting over his initial biases against Ewan.
This book was by far the least steamy of any installment, instead focuses on the relationships, but I did love the inner monologue of Channon watching the predicament bondage scene.
started reading this series back in 2022 bc ku recommended it to me, and i love randomly reading silly smutty books available on ku. however, did not expect to become THIS invested in this series and be here 5 seasons/40 episodes later!! this series somehow manages to charm you because the relationship starts a little/very questionable and then spends the following 30+ books unpacking it, with these two characters who love each other and try to make their relationship work for them, getting what they want from each other, while they grow and change. it's honestly kind of very sweet! moray is really good at writing these characters; they shine the more you read as they grow and develop; with really interesting and good conversations about kink negotiations, consent, monogamy, etc etc, and, of course, the smut is hot, too! it's the smuttiest thing i've read that isn't on ao3!
this specific episode/installment/novella focuses more on the jack/channon/ewan/nate dynamic (i would call it a polycule, but it isn't a polycule bc they are not technically dating each other? they're all best friends with each other, but also a little bit more than friends?). specifically on how this relationship will probably change with jack and channon getting married. we also got jack and ewan finally putting aside their mutual dislike for each other, at least for now, and finding some common ground with each other that's not only about loving channon (and nate). again, love seeing their development!! this one was a little lower on the steam, but happy to spend any amount of time with these characters!!
excited for the next episodes (final episodes, i guess?). hope the wait isn't too long as the one for this one!!! thank you so much to the author for the arc!!! <3
Ok, I made it through the exact chronological reread of the whole Santa Rita universe.
It wasn’t a hardship.
My initial read was over a much longer span of time and not in order, so it was a whole new experience, and one that brought into sharp focus the character development across the board, which is what episode 40 really succeeds in pushing further.
As background, if I was to make one complaint about His Boy Next Door as a series it would be that Jack is often a selfish, arrogant, entitled man who doesn’t seem to care about the feelings of those around him. Toward the end of season 4 of HBND and the following episodes Jack achingly slowly has begun to notice how his treats those around him and the effect it has on them. He starts to examine the moral implications of his relationships more, and he is more introspective.
Without spoilers… Episode 40 really propels him further on his journey by forcing him to examine his relationship with Channon through a very specific lens. He is also forced to understand Ewan’s feelings and motivations and really manages to take the time to assess how he thinks about things relating to Channon, Nate, and Ewan all in different ways.
But enough about Jack. Ewan makes strides too! I can see a lot of potential for big drama in episodes to come, as Ewan still needs to sort through his trauma. This episode really sets that up well.
And finally: Channon. He makes definitive statements about things that he wants! What a good boy.
In summary: Jack is growing up, Ewan is growing up, Channon is growing up, and Nate continues to be the jewel of a man he has ALWAYS been.
It feels like forever since i've gotten to catch up with my two favourite men but it was so worth the wait. Jack and Channons relationship just goes from strength to strength and you can really see the growth in their characters more and more with each addition.
As ever Nate is absolutely adorable and I just love him more and more with each book. I just wish after such a long wait that this book was much longer as I get drawn in so quickly that it's over way too soon! I'll be eagerly anticipating the next installment of this beautiful, kinky love story.
I had a period of time where I was okay with Jack and Channon’s relationship, but now I’m back to being unsettled by it. “I want to have complete control over every aspect of another person’s life and get off on making them do things they don’t want to do” is an abuser’s mindset, and that doesn’t change just because you’ve put a little kink hat on it. So while I’m extremely glad that Ewan finally confronted Jack with this idea and made him take it seriously, I found Channon’s reassurances unconvincing. I keep hoping Jack and Channon will both grow to the point where they can handle a relationship that’s more equal, because I simply cannot buy that this type of relationship would be healthy in the long-term outside of fantasy. And I think in general, this series struggles with the line between erotica and realism. Some installments handle it better than others. If this were purely an erotica series, then my discomfort would be alleviated because I could just handwave the non-sexual aspects of the relationship. But because the book wants me to focus on those aspects and buy that they’re healthy and happy, I’m frequently confronted with the fact that I think Jack isn’t as amazing as Channon thinks he is.
All that being said, there’s some great character development here, and I’m glad Jack is finally dealing with his unfair dislike of Ewan. I hope that progress continues in future installments.
Was this the most exciting read? No, honestly for Jack and Channon it was pretty light. But I love love lovvvvvve the dynamic between Jack, Nate, Channon, and Ewan so much that just getting to read 91 pages of them was a treat.
This is one of my absolute favorite series - I’ve read every single episode several times and this 40th episode is definitely being added to the rotation. It says a lot about the storyline in these episodes- that it can is still going full steam ahead. I love how Jack and Channon’s relationship have developed through the books, I love how they interact with Nate and Ewan, I love how Channon has grown and how Jack has changed. In short I freaking love their story and it’s one of the very few books series - that I wish I could read again for the first time. This episode felt like visiting old friends but also the story just keeps growing and flowing in the best possible way.
One of the best things about this series is how you can fully experience the character growth. This episode really shows the depth of Jack's care and understanding of Channon as well as giving us a big chunk of time with Ewan. These books just keep getting better and better!
The good + Channon + Jack and Ewan bonding over spending Jack's money to pay someone to put shrimp in Ewan's ex's curtain rods + Nate accepting Channon exactly the way he is + Ewan calling Nate when he's in distress + Channon becoming more confident and deciding he's not ashamed of his relationship and his kinks + Jack being a total sap over Channon + Jack finally seeing that what he's doing with Channon can have serious repercussions, and that Ewan's worries aren't completely unfounded
The neutral o Channon is dealing with pretty complicated feelings regarding his relationship with Jack and their relationships with Nate and Ewan. He did a great job trying to communicate about this, but somehow it felt like his questions and feelings were brushed off a bit by the others. It made me sad on Channon's behalf. Nonetheless, a lot of progress was made in this book regarding those relationships
The bad - When Jack asked Channon for a color in the included bonus scene, "Channon couldn't. He couldn't say it. 'Yellow' felt like failure, but 'green' was so far away that it just wouldn't come." And I really appreciate that Jack stopped because Channon didn't give him a color, but it's worrying that Channon still considers safewording a failure. Especially after their recent discussion about whether Channon truly wanted everything Jack asked of him, I found it jarring to see that Jack didn't seem to think this was a problem, even though he only found out he crossed Channon's limits this time because he asked for a color specifically - I still think Channon does too many things just because Jack wants him to. Yes, he loves pleasing Jack, but Jack also wants Channon to be happy, and sometimes it feels like the only way he's making Channon happy is through praising him for doing things he doesn't really want to do
I really enjoy that after such a long journey, there's still so much development going on. It's also comforting to know their journey isn't over yet, because that means we will be spoiled with more books yet. I don't think I could go back to the first installment, because Jack really needed some of that character development before he started growing on me, but I'm definitely ready for more Jack and Channon and Nate and Ewan in the future.
There! Is! So! Much! Going On! Here! and with amazing economy.
We have, for one thing, Channon thinking about the quality -- the essence, I mean -- of his and Jack's relationship with Nate and Ewan: what's it called, he asks Nate, when one couple is dating another couple? Nate tries out two or three words, but none of them seem quite right. Anyway, Channon is anxious that the couple-couple relationship, their little club of four, not diminish once he and Jack are married. Nate says, “I get that you don’t want things to change, but you’re getting married. That just changes some things. That’s the point.” To Jack, Channon says he doesn't want them to lose Nate and Ewan; Jack promises they won't, which is not at all the same as promising that nothing will change.
All that's the long way around to saying I can't wait for R.J. Moray to write that installment of the JackChannonEwanNate story.
But meanwhile: Jack and Ewan. Ewan is Channon's best friend, and Jack doesn't like him. Ewan isn't Jack's biggest fan, either. I'm Team Ewan, because even though Channon adores Jack, and even though Jack's always looked out for Channon's well-being, I can't quite make myself get along, even fictionally, with someone who wants to control another person completely. This is, of course, exactly why Ewan mistrusts Jack too.
So ... what happens when Nate and Channon are away at an IT conference and Jack, who's promised to take care of Ewan in Nate's absence, finds Ewan reluctantly turning to him for help? (Remember Ewan's evil ex? The one who left Ewan feeling worthless and ugly? Yeah, him. He pops up. Ugh.) I don't know how much the idea of a spoiler can apply when you know, by the rules of the story you're reading, that conflicts will be resolved well, or at least be on their way to resolution, so I'll say only that Jack and Ewan have an emotionally convincing conversation about why Jack isn't the same as Ewan's evil ex, and that Jack reflects a bit on the extent to which he resembles that ex.
I described "Common Ground" as an instance of economical writing, and it really is. It's also an instance of how much character development you can pack into a small space when you've already put in 39 chapters (plus A Collar for His Brat) of emotional complexity. Also, of course there's some sex, and of course it's crazy-hot.
Thanks to Ms. Moray for the ARC, and welcome back!
My comments apply to installments #1 - #40. Reread of seasons 1-3. I rarely reread something so out of my comfort zone. This series is probably 70 - 80% kink I don't care for, less in the first season of the series as it pretty much concentrates only on the two main characters, Jack the dom and Channon the sub.
-First of all, this is the journey of a virginal 18-year-old boy into a hard-core 24/7 relationship. I don't like those, at all, the sub even gets dictated on what days he can have a cheat day and eat a slice of pizza. Not realistic at all. He has very very little will of his own. And frankly, I would have felt more comfortable if Channon had at least been two years older, not a few weeks shy of his high school graduation. -Secondly, there's a lot of swapping, swinging, sharing and displaying the sub with all kinds of super kinky people. I can deal with the occasional menage between the dom's best friend and his sub, but I find it completely weird that the dom gets turned on being basically cuckolded. Shudder. -Thirdly, there is just too much weird stuff going on. Kink school for subs, creepy sex clubs, objectification, training of a cum- and cock slut, side characters that weird me out (Mr White, hello). -Fourth, the sub gets his rock off being a service sub which is - arggg - so not sexy. I am also frankly quite often uncomfortable with how little free initiative and will he shows. His standard response is "Whatever you wish for Sir" and most often I only want to shake him.
However, I absolutely adore the main characters as well as the main side characters (Nate and Ewan, the dom and sub's best friends). I adore most of the kink they do when they are alone (except for the predicament bondage later on, because crippling pain in the whole body is not erotic anymore), I absolutely love how the dom coaxes Channon (the sub) out of his shell and strengthens his self-esteem (because his dad and mother belittled him on every turn). I like how the author captivates me - and let me tell you - it takes some talent to write good smut and engage me in over 40 instalments in a series that mostly features stuff that's completely out of my comfort zone.
Will I reread the series again? Probably not. Will I read further instalments? Definitely yes. And I will also revisit Nate and Ewan's story. B fir the first season, B- for the second season, C- for all further installments (mainly bc of all the stuff that weirds me out).
Yet another amazing installment of His boy next door! Really, you cannot believe how excited I was to hear that Moray had another chapter in their lives coming. The most delightful surprise ever, I was grinning ear to ear, and I didn’t even know what it would be about!!! Rest assured that when I saw the blurb for this I immediately wanted to drop everything to read it.
Finally. FINALLY we got to see these two hash things out. Something that has been long awaited and, I don’t want to make any spoilers, but it wasn’t in a way that I could have predicted or even thought about, to be honest, it was one of these things that I was like, how can it even be possible? I was starting to doubt they would ever get this dealt with and I was very unexpectedly pleased with the results 😂 They were very much on character, that's all I'll say!!
It was a very enjoyable installment, has left me craving for more, I want to see the new developments/insights (again look in the spoiler if you wanna know), I want to know how things will develop from now on, I WANT.
My only complaint about this would be that it was kind of short, and I just wanted to devour everything and cannot wait already, but like, to be honest, I feel like it was dealt with amazingly. If an author leaves me wanting for more, I call it a good sign. Not to mention the hot scene? It was so so hot. I wasn’t even expecting anything (though I should have lol), and it was yet another delight. The cherry on top of the delicious sundae.
Can't wait for the next!!
I received an ARC copy of this and these are my honest thoughts as a long-time follower of this series.
This episode of Jack and Channon's story was pretty tame from a kink exploration perspective, but I love what it did to develop their dynamic and explore the relationships they have with Nate and Ewan. At this point, Jack and Channon are on such solid ground that I don't worry as much about the little anxieties and concerns that occasionally pop up, but I've been wondering if Jack and Ewan would ever try to bridge the divide between them. While I wish it hadn't taken Ewan's gross ex to put him in a state where Jack was his only option for support, I was thrilled that Ewan felt safe enough to share some of the scars from his past. I feel like I'm finally starting to understand why Jack's style of dominance is hard for Ewan to accept, and this episode was a big step forward in helping Jack and Ewan find common ground. This was also one of the first times I saw Channon reflect on how important Nate and Ewan are to him and Jack and express his desire for them to maintain their closeness even as their individual relationships evolve and grow. I really appreciate how thoughtful these characters are about the nuances of their relationships and the way they're changing with time, and it's a good reminder that a lot of change can be good for everyone involved. This was definitely the first time in a long time that Jack and Channon had a serious conversation about the power exchange in their relationship, and while I didn't have any real doubts that both of them were still enjoying it, I think Jack especially needed to hear it after Ewan opened up to him. I'm definitely leaving this episode with more confidence that all four of them are going to be in each other's lives for a long time, and I'm excited to see where their journey takes them next!
**I voluntarily read an ARC of this book. This review expresses my honest thoughts and opinions.
• BDSM (can’t list all the k!nks as they try and like soooo many!!) • MM romance • dom/sub (Sir) • gentle dom • age gap (about 20 years) • gay awakening • billionaire x insecure young man • 3rd person pov
I’m writing one review for all 40 episodes (spoiler free).
Add!citing series! I’ve had so much fun reading this. It’s definitely full on BDSM erot!ca, don’t get me wrong, but there’s also a lot of romance and some plot. It was nice to discover BDSM in a healthier environment outside of the realm of dark romance. So much communication was put into this couple and I really appreciated that.
I went into the first volume thinking it was a series or short stories, and discovering it’s instead a longer serialized story of the same characters. I was pleasantly surprised and realized this is probably the first 3rd person pov romance I read that I actually loved! So well executed.
Now, I’m absolutely a newbie in reading the world of full BDSM, but as an inexperienced reader of this, I really appreciated how realistic it felt, it’s still fiction of course, but to me this is has one of the most realistic spicy scenes I’ve personally ever read.
It was so fun to be immersed in the pov and dynamics of two characters who fully engage in BDSM in their lifestyle. This was a discovery read for me and it made me realize how much trust is needed for BDSM to work. It got emotional in some parts too and I loved that! Although some of the k!nks did make me a little uncomfortable/surprised, but that’s me lol, they’re very kinky! But they’re cute together. I’ve certainly smiled and giggled a lot reading this, either actual happy smiles or smiles of embarrassment lol
The characters are well developed and they are just so sweet and cute. Jack is definitely a gentle dom. And Channon is such a sweetheart.
I’m curious to see if there will be more episodes, I surely hope so.
I'm so glad to be back with these characters. Jack and Channon are very much settled in their relationship as evidenced by their upcoming wedding. Sweet Channon just wants all the people he loves to be happy together as well or at least tolerate one another. (Jack and Ewan) Channon has an opportunity to go to a work conference with Nate and he really wants to go. Nate of course has Jack's absolute permission to care for Channon while they're away but then Channon asks if Jack could please care for Ewan should he need help. Neither one cares for the other. Jack just can't understand a wild, undisciplined boy like Ewan and Ewan deeply mistrusts Jack. Sean's former Dom did a real number on Ewan's sense of the whole D/s relationship so he genuinely believes Jack is just the same. As it turns out, Ewan does need Jack's help when his evil ex begins trying to worm his way back. Ewan is a vicious, feral cat who'd just as soon bite your hand off for offering affection. He and Jack finally get to the heart of the matter as Jack slowly pries the truth from Ewan and suddenly he not only understands and begins to ease up on his reservations of Ewan but he actually feels protective of him and tries to help him overcome the situation.
This installment to one of my favorite series isn't as overtly kinky or sexual as others; despite this, I never felt a lack because the story captivated me completely by delving into an issue long overdue to be explored. Jack and Channon have never had a traditional relationship, which means not being limited to traditional constraints. On the surface, this episode is about Channon wanting his Sir and his best friend to find a way to exist in the same space without the constant threat of bloodshed. Moray goes deeper, though, as the characters also subtly explore an unspoken truth of this world. The Jack/Channon and Nate/Ewan pairings might be primary, but the weight of the shared history between Jack and Nate cannot be ignored. Once again, Channon's perfection is a feature, not a bug, of his characterization, and I continue to adore seeing how he steers the course through his complicated, but always amazing, happily ever after.
Disclaimer: I received a digital review copy of this book from the author.
I was so happy to see Channon and Jack again and we get so much in this episode. I love to spend time with these characters. It's been a while since the last episode and I was happy to find that I'm still invested. It's amazing how far they both have come. And how far we've come from the pure kink erotic we started with?
In this episode, we have Channon going on some IT conference with Nate, while Jack, at home, has to help Ewan with a personal crisis. There's a ton of Ewan and Nate content in here! After reading the blurb I really wondered how Jack and Ewan could even bond and oh boy. lol. I loved their bonding activity. It could have been a very dramatic situation, and while it was treated with the levity it deserved, there was a healthy dose of humor in there as well.
Channon, for his part, is perfect, as usual. His hangout with Nate was more light-hearted but still representative of the emotional complexity of this whole series. "What is it called when a couple date another couple?" I get you Channon I want more of you four too!
The relationship and character growth in this series is insane and nothing like I’ve ever read before. What started out as a seemingly straightforward spicy series has evolved into an incredibly deep and meaningful romantic (and k!nky) relationship, plus some special friendships and various other kinds of relationships.
This episode focuses on the relationship between Channon and Nate, and between Jack and Ewan, and then between all four of them. It’s serious, funny and contemplative. I love how at his core, Channon has always carefully thought through things and continues to get better and better at checking in with himself and assessing his own thoughts and emotions. All of that really shines in this episode.
This one is more of a “thinky” episode but still has the spice we’ve all come to expect and love. There’s also some hints at what we may see in future episodes and I’m excited! Some may criticize this series and others for focusing on so much spice; I say that those people don’t appreciate the level of intimacy and trust and love k!nk can bring into the lives of characters like Jack and Channon, and Nate and Ewan.
No matter how much time passes between book releases, I easily jump right back into the story of Jack and Channon. I absolutely love Jack and Channon, but I also love Nate and Ewan, so it was great to see all of them in this story.
Jack can afford to buy Channon anything, but what Channon really wants is for his two favorite people, Jack and Ewan, to get along. When Channon and Nate go out of town on a business trip, Channon asks Jack to take care of Ewan.
Ewan and Jack are reluctant, but they talk and really get to know each other. Jack has a better understanding of Ewan. He learns of his past relationship and how it has affected his life. He also understands why Ewan is uneasy with Jack and Channon's relationship.
Although there wasn't a lot of sexy times, I think this book was a huge turning point in the story going forward. With Jack and Ewan starting a tentative friendship, there will be more understanding between the couples in the future.
A new instalment in the ‘Becoming His Boy Next Door’ serial has been a long time coming and was worth it. What I love about Jack and Channon is that we see them continue to grow both individually and as a couple. This one was great as the majority of the story sees Jack spending time with Ewan and Channon on a business trip with Nate. Seeing the different dynamics when sex isn’t the focus of their interactions was different than usual and helped deepen the relationships between the friends of their partners.
I am not usually a fan of sharing in my romance stories, just my personal preference, but there’s just something about these characters that I just can’t stay away from. RJ Moray has created a world I always enjoy spending time in and always enjoy every new instalment in this series. If you’ve made it this far in the series then I know you will love it too.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
It’s been a while since I spent time in this world with these characters, and I'd forgotten (but was happily reminded) of how well this series blends heat, spice, and character development. Jack, Channon, Nate, and Ewan are all strong, complex people in their own rights and their interactions are full of chemistry and sparks and complexity. Jack and Channon in particular have, in their own ways, come so far from where they started. In this episode, Jack gets a chance to spend time with Ewan (and Nate with Channon), and lessons are learned and connections made, to keep things vague enough to avoid spoilers here. At this point in the series, Jack’s earnest commitment to not only enjoying the enormous power he has over Channon but also deserving it is lovely, and Channon coming into his own in so many ways is just…everything.
*I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
This series is not my usual experience of erotica. The characters do get busy pretty quickly in episode 1, and continue. A lot. With great enthusiasm.
I really enjoy this series, and hope it continues for a long time, because I like the characters so much. Even though one is a billionaire and one is a teenager, two species in which I have little interest. Somehow Moray makes them both engaging and interesting. Their interior lives are interesting. Their worlds and friendship/found family circles are also interesting.
Each instalment includes character development, relationship, and life development as well as, usually, some Fun Activities. (fun to them anyway). This instalment has rather less sex than usual, but I didn't really notice or care. I like everyone too much.
All in all, this is an enjoyable addition to this excellent series. Long may it continue.
Glad we finally get to dive back into the series after such a long wait. There’s still a lot of unresolved issues with the Jack/Channon and Nate/Ewan thing. This felt like a step in the right direction but I hope this isn’t the end of them. It doesn’t seem right for them to not be something to each other. And Nate and Jack still need to have a conversation about their past.
I’m still disappointed Channon hasn’t really said no and stood his ground on it. Or just simply safeworded. To me, it still feels like he doesn’t have a say. I feel like I need Channon to fight with Jack about something. He’s still a little bit of a doormat.
Also, after rereading everything, I have questions. Was the Gwendolyn thing just dropped? I feel like that hasn’t been addressed in a proper manner but it seems like the club aspect of this story has been dropped as well.
I cannot tell you how excited I am too see R.J Moray return to the world of Channon and Jack! My favourite thing about this series is seeing how Channon has grown as a person safe in Jack's love. Their relationship is perfect. The love they have is so amazing, and the kink and D/s they explore just makes it that much better. This series is 5 star all the way, and I cannot tell you how often I return to them as comfort re-reads. No matter what Jack and Channon explore together, I know Moray will write it in a way that the love they have for each other GLOWS from the pages. Loved seeing the connections that Jack and Ewan and Nate and Channon are all developing together, and the end scene was chef's kiss.
