Secret baby romances are usually one of my absolute favourite tropes, but (for me) there has to be a logical reason why it’s being kept a secret. It is for safety reasons (mafia/crime), is there no way to contact the dad (one-night stand situation), betrayal (miscommunication) or he’s just found fame & the mum didn’t want to ‘hold him back’. The last one is plot-dependent, but I understand it if she didn’t want to shine a spotlight on their child.
In this book, none of these reasons apply. So they meet at a joint hen/stag party and get along amazingly (hence the secret baby). After this, she loses his number, but this is really a non-issue because everyone knew him at the stag party. He is never uncontactable. He’s a top surgeon, so he’s (probably) acclaimed, but not famous. She finds his number and finds out she is pregnant. So why oh why did she not contact him you ask … because he took a ‘new job that would take him out of state, and (she) just knew a surprise pregnancy after a night of drunken, unprotected sex wasn't in his plans’.
Point one - How does she know his plans? I DNFed at 7%, so maybe he said something. They didn’t know each other long though, so I can’t imagine his 5 year goals came up. I don’t know though. Point two - Is this not such an unbelievably stupid reason? Yes, him being out of state would be hard, but there is no logical reason for there to be a secret baby. I don’t get it. Is it just me….
She then takes a job at his hospital and has been keeping this secret for 5 years. 5 years !!! Don’t get me wrong I love the drama, but this woman apparently loves it more. For me, I just knew I wasn’t going to get along with the FMC because her reasoning was already annoying me. I may be overthinking this though. Probably am.
I want to give this 1 star, as I DNF-ed very early. However, it was for problems I personality saw with the plot and less to do with the characters or writing. I’m not saying my reasons don’t make sense, it just seems harsh to give it 1 star having read less than 8%. The book may get better and a massive revelation may come out.
I’m giving it a 3, but I don’t think I’d recommend it.

So a older doctor and a nursing student have crazy explosive baby making activities. Baby is made. Doctor is getting a promotion, and nursing student has to go back to school. Secret baby is born. Doctor is a grumpy ass man child POS. He is mean. He's nasty for no reason. He gets irritated by children being children, which to me will always be weird as hell-- he claims he does not NOT like kids tho. He gets irritated by his coworkers. He's strict with his fellows and residents (ok, that's valid). He needs his soda in his mom's fridge or else he can't function. He's literally a kid. I don't see ANY appeal this man could have. He's also got no idea he's got a daughter, and that's not his fault.
You can blame THAT on the nursing student. She's a whole nurse now, and they're coworkers in the same hospital. It's been 5 years. She knows she has to tell him about his daughter. He wants to rEcOnNeCt. Everytime she goes to tell him about the daughter, she gets his 🍆 somewhere, whether in public or private, and so they "date" for months and she never tells him about the kid. I truly cannot fathom not being able to string a sentence because you're too busy getting your 🐱 ate, or failing to inform the sire of your offspring of the literal existence of your child because you're too busy running away after you take his woolen steel man stick like an omega in heat. She's absolutely wrought with guilt, a crying, ANXIOUS mess...and she's withholding some important info because she's horned up and wants one more release before telling the truth. Except SHE NEVER DOES. Until she does.
I skimmed through the sex. The reader finds themselves getting edged every chapter because you think the nurse is close to confession, but she pounded and then runs away. You think the doctor is going to tell her about a new life development, but he's too busy being an actual ASSHOLE to everyone else to tell her that. We all knows guys like the doctor. My best friend is getting married to a guy like the doctor. She thinks she can "fix him" and that she's the only one who "understands" him. Her coworkers tell me he's an asshole with no filter. That's what this guy is. He also coincidentally has a 5 year old too, but I doubt this novel is a reflection of them. I hope it isn't because the nurse is dumb as hell with this.
I will give this 2 stars only because of this: realistic family dynamics. The nurse's father is very strict. He is overprotective. He gives me the same vibes as my father. My father would've disowned me if I turned up pregnant because sex before marriage is a taboo blahblahblah but the whole micromanaging and policing where the nurse went and with who and countless lectures even at her big age? Felt LOL
Ok it's 0424hrs and my eyes are drooping. if you want some meh sex read it. If you want to see when the confession happens, I will not tell you. I hope you suffer like I did.

my gateway book to baby daddy is a doctor stories. Everybody needs to experience a 2hr dr dreamy novella at least once. I will never be able to look at hot Dr the same after reading the crazy scenarios played out in the forbidden Dr series 🩻👨⚕️🍆 these women’s reasons for keeping a baby secret are ridiculous, But just roll with it. 😅

Michael and Sarah get a second chance at romance, but their path isn't easy. With "secret baby" in the title, you know there will be secrets and drama. I'm happy to see a single mother character with a loving, supportive family, even if they still have conflict. Sarah is definitely the sunshine to Michael's grump.
While I appreciate a male protagonist that isn't an overconfident alpha, the descriptions of Michael's supposed self-confidence issues felt a little forced and not backed up with any examples.

This is a well written second chance romance with strong characters in Sarah and Michael. The author does a great job developing their story as she takes you into their lives with choices, secrets, and heat and kept me reading with all the emotions flowing throughout. I enjoyed reading their story.

I enjoyed this story! He knew from the beginning that she was the one! Great writing writing and amazing characters!

I liked this story. It flowed very well. But it was a little frustrating at times. The characters loved each other, but didn't seem to trust each other to tell the truth about things. Like his job and their daughter.
The five years that they were apart didn't damper their lust for one another. And Sarah's reveal about why she never told Michael was very sweet and totally within character.
The steaminess is off the charts in this book. So beware. And you will love the relationship the 3 of them share that will make your heart swoon.

Matthew is a respected surgeon, reputed to be grumpy and not very social. He loves his work and makes sure that every patient he treats gets the best out of his skills. But when a new nurse is assigned to a surgery he is leading, he can't help but get distracted by how familiar she feels.
Sarah has finally landed on her dream job in the hospital she desired. But she did not expect to run into him so soon. The father of her child. Matthew. Except, she never told him about her pregnancy. But how can she tell him now? Five years later?
First off, I disliked both Sarah and Matthew. I did not like their personalities at all. I could empathise with Sarah for a while about her situation, but then I was just mad at her. She did not have the nerve to tell the truth and she kept ignoring Matthew's red flags, like what? He is rude to everyone who has no semblance of authority over him. And she romanticises his arrogance by telling him he is right the person he got mad with is wrong! I was sooo damn annoyed with her.
Then, Matthew. Everytime she opened her mouth to tell about Emily, he closed it by kissing. Seriously, lust is not equal to love, and he could not keep his hands off her enough to listen to her say something important!
And that scene, where he says to Sarah she is a good mom. Dude hadn't even seen her kid yet, or heard her tell him anything about Emily and how did he decide she is a good mom?
The whole time I was just getting mad at them both for their behaviour. The ending was somewhat good, but still, I felt like the character development was forced. I think the ending is a little better than the rest of the story.
Unfortunately, I did not have a satisfactory experience with this book.

They were attracted to each other and ended up having a fling. Sarah was only a nursing student then. He gave Sarah his number but never got hers. He never heard from her after that night.
Sarah meets her sister Nev at a bar. Nev is the only one who knows the whole story about Sarah’s fling with Michael. Sarah lost the piece of paper with Michael’s number on it in her mother’s car and when she found it, she could not call him. She was pregnant and knew that Michael was up for a big promotion, so she did not want to burden him. She has a cute 4 year old named Emily and Michael does not know about her. Sarah knew when she took her dream job at St. Anne’s that she would bump into Michael but did not know it would be during her first week working there.
It was frustrating that they both were keeping secrets from each other. I just wanted them to come clean to each other and see what happened.

Dragged, immature
The premise of the book is good. However, I found the FMC immature. I understand that it’s hard to tell someone that he’s the father of your child, but falling into bed with him each time you’re about to tell him is just avoidance. Then when you tell home in anger and just run away like a child that’s even more annoying. My real issue is that it wasn’t until 80% into the book that she angrily told him that he was a father. Then she just ran away without giving him a chance to process.
On his part he had a potential job opportunity in London but he was hesitating until he could figure out her feelings for him. Some reviews said he shouldn’t have gone, but honestly, he was going through the process; not accepting the position without talking to her.
I honestly skipped most of the book after 50% of the way when I realized that every time she is about to tell him he’s a father she gets sidetracked by falling into bed. At that point I just wanted it to all get out and when it did get out I was so annoyed that I kind of stopped reading because I was no longer invested in their relationship.

I like the secret baby troupe but this book was so maddening. Sarah has a baby with a one night stand. She finds out shes pregnant and doesnt tell him because he got a job offer in a different state and she didnt want to hold him back. Selfless right? No! Selfish.
Fast forward to 5 yrs later and she gets a job at the same hospital as her one night stand and hes the dr while shes the nurse. They end up sleeping with each other again. This goes on for a while. No problem right? No! She can't even tell him that hes the daddy. She was all about herself. Making sure she gets all the sex. Selfish! She had plenty of time to tell him. Ugh i wanted to stop reading.
Then when she finally blurts it out to.him during a fight...she runs away!!??!. I was so annoyed with Sarah. Michaels reaction? Cmon! He was upset and shocked but he didnt even freak out on Sarah for not telling him! No yelling. No angry
Why the fuck didnt you tell me??
You had plenty of times to tell me!!!

Normally, I enjoy Sofia's novels but the character of Sarah just didn't sit well with me. She dithered throughout the book about telling Michael, her one-night stand that they have a child together. She takes all the assistance from her family enabling her to cope with her life choices. She doesn't want to tell Michael about their daughter, yet she leaves her hospital job to work as a scrub nurse in another hospital where Michael is a thoracic surgeon. The storyline picks up a little from about halfway through. Although she flirts and teases Michael, she still doesn't come clean. The novel is full of assumptions, and avoidance of honest communications. Besides their physical attractions, nothing really comes through that would act as a pillar for a proper. relationship.

But he’s in line to get a prestigious job in another state and she makes assumptions that he doesn’t want a baby so she doesn’t tell him. He thinks he’s been ghosted - he gave her his number but she lost it. However, they have mutual friends from the party so this reasoning is thin. 5 years later she’s a nurse at the hospital where he’s a surgeon. He immediately recognizes her as the one who got away. He starts to pursue her and they end up sleeping together again and she finds all kinds of reasons to not tell him about his daughter. It gets a bit old but she does tell him in an argument. He takes it as she cared so much for him and his future that she must really love him.

This book needs way more than just a 5 star rating it needs more like a 20 star rating. This book exemplifies how much work and dedication it is for both doctors and nurses. This was a WONDERFUL story of love ❤️ a secret kept and HEA. Mike is a sexy surgeon who had a night of passionate love making with Sarah. When she lost his phone number she never called him and then she found out she was pregnant. This book is so so good that I was sad when it ended. Medical Romance books are my absolute favorite reads. ❤️🔥❤️🔥🔥🔥.

Loved this story! And the storyline was spot on! So believable with the lost number after a one night stand. And all the circumstances that followed just made this story.
Michael and Sarah had unbelievable chemistry from the moment they met but due to some unfortunate circumstances, they lost touch. But when she takes a new job and is now working with him, things get interesting. Great interactions and feelings are obviously still there.

Missed the Mark
Normally I enjoy this author. I did not enjoy this book. The Reason for the FMC keeping their daughter was weak. She lost his phone number? Really? When they are in the same town? He doesn’t meet his daughter until more than 85% in to the book. Also, the author must not be familiar with children. Kids that are nearly 5 don’t talk baby talk like a 2 or 3 year old. That was distracting. Both MCs were not particularly likable and the story and emotional connection was weak. Pass on this one!

I mostly enjoyed this book. The conflict that Sarah seemed to go through was difficult to understand. She took the Martyr's route in sacrificing herself and not telling Michael she was pregnant. She let her parents control her. Michael was unsuspecting in most of this. However it was all this turmoil that kept the story interesting. The evolution of the characters and their relationships is what kept me turning each page.

A second chance secret baby medical romance full of angst. It was overall a good story but I felt frustrated with both of the main characters constant back and forth. Both were selfish and self focused in their own way. In my opinion it could have been less drawn out-I found myself skimming between the steamy and angst scenes. The ending was sweet with the proposals. Good but a bit too drawn out for me.
