ILLUSIONS is a vibrant board book that includes some visual illusions for babies to examine. These are included on the cover, as well as in full page images alongside images of children interacting with them.
What I loved: This is a simple book that focuses on imagery. Limited text on each page helps to describe the illusion in a couple words. The images of babies/toddlers will appeal to this age group, and there is plenty to visually explore on each page spread. The vibrant and bright colors make this attention-grabbing. A simple concept, this works well for the youngest of readers who love to visually examine books and the world around them.
Final verdict: ILLUSIONS is a colorful and visually interesting board book for infants. With simple text and fun colors, this is an attention-grabbing book that babies will enjoy visually exploring.
Please note that I received an ARC. All opinions are my own.
Part of a series for babies intended to introduce visual skills, this board book [2.5] focuses on six optical illusions, including swirls, twinkling shapes, and some that seem to fly. The book is colorful and interesting, but some support from adults and caregivers will be essential in helping youngsters to understand what they're seeing. Even as an adult reader, I wasn't sure what I was seeing or learning.
