A great action-packed BoxSet and a terrific introduction to both the characters and the author. Plenty of action, likeable characters. Set in the freezing Arctic, the storyline is intriguing and contains plenty of action, and some well developed, engaging characters. Added enjoyment having the saga play out in the Arctic Circle, so that Justin and Carrie have to battle it as well as the protagonists. A hard to put down series! I’m definitely going to follow the whole series. I highly recommend it!

This set consists of the Justin Hall Spy
Books #1 thru 3.
My reviews for each are as follows:
ARCTIC WARGAME
Welcome to the world of espionage, devious
planning, courage, fear, betrayal and adventure
involving the Canadian Intelligence Secret Service.
We will travel with Justin Hill, Canadian
Intelligence Service Agent who has just
escaped from a Libyan jail when his mission
went awry. Now to redeem himself, Justin volunteers
to go to the Artic where two unidentified icebreakers
appear in the Canadian waters north of the Artic.
His investigative team is made up of Carrie O’Connor
his partner , Alisha Gunn who is the chief of the
Defense Intelligence Section and Anna Worthley,
who is attached to the Canadian legal services.
This is the introductory book in the Justin Hall spy series.
It is action packed with unique characters. I especially
enjoyed meeting the Artic inhabitants and the loyalty
they had for each other.
I also enjoyed learning more about Artic geography.
The plot moves along smoothly even with twists and
turns used to enhance the story. Plan on reading in one
or two sessions as the story will hold you capture until
the end.
The first six chapters of the next Justin Hall series,
Tripoli’s Target is included at the end of this book.
I had to quick downloaded this second book in the
series to continue the story.
.......
TRIPOLI'S TARGET
Two Canadian undercover operatives, Justin Hall and
Carrie O’Connor, are sent to meet with an Arab Sheikh
who heads a terrorist group. Their boss, Claire Johnson
sets up this meeting because the Sheikh has important
information to convey.
Situation oes awry at the meeting with heavy gunfire,
from the ground and air. Luck stays with Justin & Carrie
and they barely escape. Their boss then directs them to
go to Tripoli.
A plot to attack the US President is discover but Justin
and Carrie find clues that this is not as things appear.
Then their boss severely restricts the effectiveness of the
agents to follows their leads.
This action pact, fast paced thriller takes place in Libya
and Tripoli. The author has you traveling right along with the
characters. You see what they see. You feel what they feel,
learn the secret plans when they do & you dare to rush into
situations with them even when you are not sure who to believe.
This is the second book in the Justin Hall series and is able
to be a stand alone story. Tripoli’s Target is an exciting,
quick read. Enjoy!!
......
FOG OF WAR
This is the first book I have read of Ethan Jones.
Although part of a series, it stands as a read alone
also. The book has an interesting plot with very well
defined characters.
You travel with the characters through the Middle
East,Canada, the United States, Somalia and Moscow.
The story is about Canadian operatives sent on
missions that get compromised.
Who is able to get inside information about their
covert operations? Who has ordered the execution
of the intelligence operator, Justin Hall?
The story is fast paced, with subplots weaved into the
main plot keep the reader on their toes as not to miss
a clue but be able to travel along with Justin and his
partner Carrie O’Connor. Carrie is the common sense
person that mediates the explosive and emotional
reactions Justin has to many situations.
Traitors, arms smuggling and terrorists throughout
the book.
Justin’s needs to go rogue and work with the Russian mob
to avoid any needless killing since he is the target of
the traitor.
I loved when got Justin aboard an airplane that was fit
for a king during the story. That’s the way to fly!!
This story is anything but predictable which keeps you
on the edge until the end.
If you like intriguing, adventure, anything out of the norm,
you will be swept right into this book.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book!!!

Arctic Wargame
I’ve had the great good fortune to read both the original book and this new updated edition. I thought the original was fantastic, and this is even better. I think I have to blame my inner critic. When I don't like a book, she has no problems coming up with all kinds of things to say. But if I really enjoyed a novel, I'm often left speechless when it comes time to write a review, and this time's no different. I could say that Arctic Wargame is fast paced, with complex characters, and an engaging plot, but I’m pretty sure everyone else is going to say that too. So, how about my take on “is a Canadian spy believable?” I suspect this is the true beauty of the Canadian security and intelligence communities. Our global reputation is just too 'nice' for us to stoop to levels this sneaky. And if we do make some terrible international faux pas, we could be mistaken for another nationality whose reputation is less pristine. Besides, we’re always the first ones to say “sorry”. I can't wait to see what Justin and Carrie are up to next.
Tripoli's Target
Justin and Carrie are back at it and they're better than ever. A non-stop, roller-coaster ride of firefights, explosions, and traitors. Tripoli's Target kept me turning pages to see what would happen next. And it will keep me turning all the way into the next book, and the one after that, and the one after that, and so on, and so on. An excellent follow-up to Arctic Wargame.
Fog of War
This book is a non-stop roller coaster ride of action and intrigue from the very first page with enemies, both known and unknown, around every corner. The plots and sub-plots kept me anxiously flipping pages to see what would happen next. A satisfying read that's left me ready to see what the next mission brings for Justin and Carrie.
I received complimentary copies of the individual books from the author.

Arctic Wargame is, in every sense of the word, a thriller set along the Davis Strait in the far northeast of Canada. The plot is consistent & clever. Arctic Wargame steadily builds to a satisfying climax without ever forgetting that this is a thriller that has to continue to drive to that climax. The interesting twist is that the main characters are Canadian who denounce the United States at every opportunity, so many books are so oriented in the US that we, as readers, sometimes forget there are other nations out there with differing points of view.
Tripoli's Target is, in every sense of the word, a thriller set in the Middle East. With each book he writes Ethan Jones contimues to polish his craft, with this book being better written & more satisfying than was Arctic Wargame. Tripoli's Target steadily builds to a climax without ever forgetting that this is a thriller that has to continue to drive to that climax. The interesting twist is that the main characters are Canadian who denounce the United States at every opportunity, so many books are so oriented in the US that we, as readers, sometimes forget there are other nations out there with differing points of view.
Fog of War is, in every sense of the word, a thriller set in varying locations around the globe. With each book he writes, Ethan Jones continues to polish his craft, with this book being better written & more satisfying than were his first two. Fog of War seems longer than his first two books but steadily builds to a climax. The interesting twist is that the main characters are Canadian although that is not as apparent in this book as in his earlier books. A very good read I look forward Jones' next novel.

By reading this box set, you will be able to go from one incident to another because the next installment refers back to the previous story.

The initial story which introduced Justin and Carrie was well presented and the interface between the characters was well done and each following story had the same consistency in how the story plot was portrayed.

The 1st story was located in the Artic where an invasion was to be done and their task was to find out who were the individuals involved and how to stop the event.
The 2nd story as well as the 3rd story occurred in the Middle East where they were tasked with stopping a terrorist attack in one case and the other story referred to finding out where the leak in the Intelligence Services was coming from.

Justin, Carrie and Nathan were involved in completing the tasks in the Middle East.

I enjoyed this book a great deal and have read follow on books that also were well written. I recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a lot of action in addition to his follow on stories.

The Backpack by Ethan Jones

This is a short story. Very short, almost a vignette. Yet it is so packed full of action, that perhaps because of its brevity, it is literally breath taking. No one noticed the boy with the heavy, bulky backpack, no one, that is, but Justin Hall. Justin approached the boy and pandemonium ensued. Luckily, Justin was no stranger to pandemonium and used all of his powers of observation, strength and intelligence to make things right.

There is little more to be said about this tiny story that completely ensnares the reader. If you have personal needs, I would suggest that you tend to them before starting this story, because you will not be able to stop reading once you start.

Ethan Jones has the ability to put his readers in the scene and in the action. It is his ability to do so that engages us and why it is nearly impossible to stop reading this story once begun.

If you enjoy this kind of story, you will love this one. I highly recommend it.

A Real Good set of Fast Action Justin Hall thrillers at a Great Price.
What a great set of 3 Justin Hall thriller books. I have read a lot of these authors’ books and have never been disappointed and this collection is absolutely brilliant. If you want a good read and like action then these books are for you and I am so glad to have had the chance to read them. I so much liked Justin and Carrie who are partners and make the book. These stories are exciting right from the first page and go off at a pace which never falters. These books are believable of sorts and not too far from the truth just maybe? This box set is a real bargain and just right to get to know Justin and his characters and I can truly say each book is just as good as each other. I highly recommend you try this spy set, NOW!

Arctic Wargame, the first book in the three-book series, is an excellent introduction to the Justin Hall.

I was introduced to Ethan Jones and Justin Hall spy mysteries some time ago. I'm glad I did as I've been following him ever since.

Arctic Wargame is an unusual one because I had never read a spy novel taking place in Canada. I got the shivers just reading it (I absolutely HATE cold weather).

Justin is a great character and the story follows his traipsing around Canada trying to re-gain his respect after a recent tragedy that resulted with a demotion; finding why and who left a weapons stash in the arctic; and to go about saving his country.

Read this first book of the Justin Hall series and I believe you will be glad you did. Indeed I'm sure you will also become a fan of Ethan Jones' books. And this book is certainly an excellent place to start.

Whenever I read an Ethan Jones book I’m always treated to a thrill ride of action and a complex plot. This set contains three books that deliver on all fronts. Each has the kind of fast paced writing that stories like this really need. In fact, I’ve read several of Ethan Jones books in a day, including the books of this set, which I find hard to believe as I would never finish books that fast. It’s evidence of the engrossing fast paced nature of these books that have me hooked from start to finish. An Ethan Jones box set is great because after reading the first book I’m sure, like me, you’ll want to read the next straight away. These are great books by a great writer and when you can get them as a set why wouldn’t you? Highly recommended.

The Intrigue And Action Are Addictive

This is a three-volume set I took a chance on and I've been glad I took that chance. I liked the characters' depth and detail. The story lines for each book, while similar (Hey, we're talking about operatives from a Canadian governmental security agency that deals with rogue elements from all parts of the globe!) and having a constant list of personnel, are detailed and nuanced to capture and hold your imagination and interest for the entire set. I'm passed I bought this set and I'm sure you'll enjoy them as well.

OUTSTANDING WORD PICTURES OF CHASE SCENES!

I thoroughly enjoyed this trilogy! If possible, try to read in a block of time where you can control interruptions. I read at a complicated point in my life that had too many interruptions and found myself re-feading large portions to savor them uninterrupted. The word pictures of action scenes involved this reader's Imagination and gave me much enjoyment.

I really liked how the three book set flowed from one book to the next with just a little background introducing the characters if you should happen to not start at book one. They are action packed and draw you into the war on terror and the arms trade. I also liked how he put different countries in a different light and how enemies can come together to help each other for the common good.

This is a great way to start reading this great series This bundle lets you start at the beginning as it introduces you to one of the best characters in the genre. Justin Hall and Carrie are one of the best teams that have ever been created and this author continues to get better with each novel.

ARCTIC GAMES:

This is the authors first novel and it's a good debut. As others have pointed out there are some flaws and I also believe that his writing will improve with each book. Others have already commented on the books flaws, so I will not repeat what has already been stated. It was an interesting story and different from many thrillers that is being written today. The plot and characters are likeable and that is what kept me reading and looking forward to the next novel, TRIPOLI'S TARGET.

TRIPOLI'S TARGET:

Ethan Jones' latest thriller "Tripoli's Target" opens with a bang, several of them as terrorists explode several vehicles loaded with bombs throughout the hotel district in the Lebanese capital. We know from the beginning that the one truck that did not explode was part of the plan, but the Lebanese Secret Police do not discover this during their initial investigation. The action then continues in many of today's hot spots, Libya, Sudan and Egypt with all the different sub-plots leading back to the bombing.

The author has greatly improved his writing skills since the first Justin Hall book. His writing is crisper, his characters are well developed and while some are not what they seem the author ties everything up by then end of the novel, leaving readers satisfied with the story. We come to realize that while these characters may be flawed, they have made and continue to make great personal sacrifices to make the world a safer place. I like that the author has made his protagonists Canadians, adding a fresh spin on characters that are usually part of the U.S. government. I've enjoyed this series and look forward to reading the next Justin Hall novel.

FOG OF WAR:

Pay attention to the Arab and Russian Proverbs at the beginning. If you have read all the books, you will know how appropriate they are. If you haven't read the previous books, you may have some understanding when you finish the book, but not the appreciation that comes from knowing the complete back-story. As always, the story opens with a bang as US Navy Seals are assisting the Canadian counter-terrorism unit with a snatch and grab operation in Southern Somalia. After the Seals acquire their primary target, two militant leaders they are on the way to extract the CIA's man when Al-Shabaad, Al-Qaeda's branch in the region tries to down the MH-60 Black Hawk. They are shooting at the helicopter from the streets, rooftops and truck using machine guns and RPG's that are barely missing them as they head to the spot to pick up their passenger.

At the same time, Justin Hall is in Northeast Iran waiting on the nuclear physicist who has promised the Canadian Intelligence Service his vast knowledge of Iran's uranium enrichment program and their plan to build a nuclear bomb in exchange for a new life in the western world. Justin and his partner, Nathan Smyth crossed the order from Turkmenistan with the assistance of two Turkmen drug runners. The two agents, who they knew as Mohammed and Mehmet were to obtain information from a reliable source about the Islamic Revolutionary Guards operations, giving credibility to the CIS agent's cover story.

The operations do not go as planned and many lives are lost in both regions. When Jason checks in, he is informed by his boss, McClain that the CIA wanted an in-person briefing in the States. The CIA has sensitive and highly classified information about a security issues of interest to both agencies that they want to share with their Canadian counterpart. The information that Justin receives sends him to locales that include Somalia, Russia, Kenya, Spain and Saudi Arabia as he makes an effort to find the truth and avoid the assassins that appear to know his every move. Whom can he trust and who is behind the multiple attempts to kill him?

Justin Hall Box Set (Books 1-3) - a review by Rosemary Kenny

Canadian Assassin:
Justin Hall and fellow-agent Carrie are both part of the CIS, (supposedly the Canadian version of the FBI).
When unidentified warships are spotted off the Canadian coastline, Carrie and Justin are sent to investigate and report to their superiors. Instead they end up taking on around 100 (luckily badly trained), Russian enemy troops thus ensuring national safety and peace reign once again.

Tripoli's Target:
Justin Hall and Carrie O'Connor are in the thick of adventure and danger once more. This time the target is a head of state, due to take part in the G20 conference of VIPs and diplomats in Tripoli. Can the CIS Agents untangle the dark web of mystery and betrayal, in time to save the target?

Iranian Protocol:
Formerly known as Fog of War, Iranian Protocol has the usual fast-paced, all-action starring CSI Agent Justin Hall and sidekick Carrie O'Connor.
This time Ethan Jones' heroes are sent to intervene, when the defection of an Iranian scientist starts to fall apart. However, Justin's betrayed by a traitor on his own side, that puts his life in repeated danger when he becomes the target.
Gun-running, terrorism and much more, makes the third in Ethan Jones' exceptional Justin Hall Thrillers series the best yet.
Grab your copy soon and tell all your friends!
