I love Aggie Parris books , you just know you’re in for a treat. Series starter perfection! What a great concept. Charlotte/ Charlie Chance runs a pet rescue. She also gets premonitions about things which you’d think would be a cakewalk when you want to help a sheriff get their bad guy/ gal . But of course it’s not so clean cut and there’s lots of twists and turns and stings in the tail to this mystery. A nice pairing with Charlie is Beau , great chemistry…. Superb characters ,creative writing with good narrative and solid background story. Descriptors are excellent and I could not put this awesome book down . Compellingly entertaining. I read an advance of this book and I’m leaving my review voluntarily in my own thoughts.
A new series with an array of colorful and quirky characters and of course this wouldn't be a mystery murder without a schemer hidden within causing trouble for those in a charming small town. If you enjoy a more cheesy kind of cozy murder mystery your really going to enjoy this one. The characters may be what draws you in but it's the enticement of a plot full of mayhem, intrigue secrets and betrayal that will turning page after comical page until you've reached its unexpected and climatic conclusion. Acquire " May Day and Murder " the first in this new series ( Charlie Chance Cozy Mysteries) .Kat
I just finish reading May Day and Murder and I found it very interesting to see how everyone reacted to the murder. The main character Charlie is wonderful to read about and how she react to everyone around her. There were lots of twist and turns threw aout the book with Charlie try to figure out about her personal life and how she did not want to hurt anyone around her. It took so long to figureout who the murder was but I enjoyed the journey with Charlie. I hope the author will continue with Charlie's love life and try and get her to fall for someone that will be a match to her. I will recommend this series all my friends.
This is a good start to a new series, and an entertaining and fun read. Charlotte “Charlie” Chance dreams events before they occur, usually everyday events. When she foresees a death, Charlie reveals her “gift” to the local sheriff, but is still unable to prevent the murder. Of course Charlie is under suspicion and must investigate to prove her innocence. Loved the characters and the relationships and interactions between them! The mystery kept me guessing, and I will be eagerly awaiting the next adventure! I received an ARC from the author, and this is my honest and voluntary review.
I have never read anything by Aggie Parris before, OMG, this was fantastic!! Charolette (Charlie) Chance, runs a pet rescue; Second Chance. She also has psychic abilities, that can be helpful or not. When Charlie foresees the death of Drake Collins, the May Day coordinator, she tells Sheriff Randell. Not sure if he believes her, but when the death happens; she's a suspect. Charlie tries to find the real killer, but does the killer find Charlie first???? Love the plot, great setting, and strong intense interesting characters. I look forward to reading more from Ms. Parris!!!
Loved this book, this is the first book in this series I am looking forward to the next book. Charlie (Charlotte) finds the festival coordinator dead at the event. Drake (the festival coordinator) was disliked by many of the local community members. Charlie has physic visions and saw Drake dead in one of her visions before the festival began, needless to say Charlie find his body dead under the banner. Charlie becomes a suspect in his murder and decides to find the real killer on her own.
This was an entertaining and interesting mystery. I liked that Charlie got premonitions. I'd love to do that, but not bad ones like Charlie. I liked that her friends were loyal and supportive and believed her. I know it's out there, but I think that Beau became a believer and fast. The chemistry the two had was sweet. I didn't guess the killer, but really enjoyed the journey. The big twist was exciting. Looking for to more mysteries , and sparks with a Charlie and Beau.
Charlie (Charlotte) bakes pet treats which are sold in her shop. Her Aunt Wanda grooms dogs & her cousin, Ethan tries to train them. Charlie is a psychic & she sees the dead body of the May Day Parade dead. She reports this to the police who try to guard him, but, he threatens them & the Sheriff. He dies, as seen. Charlie intends to find out who the guilty party is. She helps a grieving goth inclined teenager & gives her a part time job in her shop. In the end she realises who the murderer is.
This is a good start to a new series. Charlie is a quirky, interesting, relatable, entertaining, intriguing, complex character. I enjoyed spending time with her as she solved the murder and hanging with her friends. The secondary characters added to the fabric of the story and my enjoyment. The story is easy to read and get into. It’s a very quick read.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Charlie is a psychic who gets involved in a murder. What a great start of this new series. It Is short but good. I love Charlie. She's so sweet and likeable and curious. More stories please! So far I haven't been disappointed by Aggie Parris’ books. I received an advance review copy for free and I’m leaving a voluntary and honest review.
Charlie is physic and has been since grade school. She gets visions before things happen, but she cannot change what she sees. When Charlie gets a vision of Drake Collins dead at the May Day Parade and if her vision is right it will happen within 48 hours. Beau is new to town and the Sheriff. And he's cute. Charlie is going to have to work with Beau if she is going to solve this mystery.
What a good start to a new cozy mystery. It had everything I like to read--murder, mystery, paranormal, and romance. Charlie is a fun character that I would like to read more about. Recommend reading.
I really enjoyed this story but…there were several punctuation errors and typos and I hate when a book just ends (I also hate cliffhangers in movies and TV shows). Worth a read after Ms. Parris cleans it up a little.
Charlotte has a no holds barred attitude that gets her into trouble so easily. Sarcastic and kind. This story is filled with witty retorts that Charlotte just can't stop herself from saying. Thoroughly enjoyable. Charlotte, your new best friend. Highly Recommended.
Charlie sees that a murder will happen. I really enjoyed this book, a nice relaxing read with fun characters and personalities. A wonderful relaxing book to read with a few surprises. I received a free copy of this book from the author. I am leaving a voluntary and honest review.
I found this book series not as entertaining as Aggie Parris's other book series. This one had a nice storyline, and the protagonist, Charlie, was a little firecraker and said what she thought. Having psychic abilities, she was able to solve the May Day crime.
I just got finished reading the ARC copy. I really like this book. It keeps you wondering who done it. I would recommend this book to others. Can't wait to read more about the coven.
