Two brothers hunting monsters, solving mysteries, and facing the sinister landscape of a sentient city coming back to life—and having fun doing it.
Emmet
Just when I accept my destiny of being the guardian of a sentient city, the fae universe throws me the ultimate curveball—the return of my predecessors. The Light Weavers are back and just as powerful and enigmatic as ever.
But I don’t have time to worry about being replaced…not with magical mishaps, monsters, and an army of Dark Weavers gaining strength in the shadows. It’s time to harness everything I’ve learned to prove I’m the man for the job—even if I have to bend a few laws of nature to do it.
Brendan
Going from undercover work in Guns and Gangs to policing a magical city under attack from squid-faced bastards isn’t as big a jump as I first thought. And with every wave of Isilon awakening, there are more bodies in the city to protect and serve.
With every mystery we solve and danger we mitigate, I realize our biggest challenge might be understanding the city itself. As the final showdown with the Dark Weavers unfolds, we test the bonds of brotherhood, magic, and everything we value most in life…and death.

About Auburn Tempest Auburn Tempest is a pen name for JL Madore, a multi-genre novelist giving life to Fantasy, Paranormal, and Sci-Fi Romance. Under the pen name, Auburn Tempest, she writes Urban Fantasy without the sexy-steamy. But whether Romance or not, she loves to twist Alpha heroes and kick-ass heroines into chaotic, hilarious, fast-paced, magical situations and make them really work for their happy endings.
She lives outside of Toronto, Canada with her love of over 35 years and a menagerie of family, friends, and animals.
Poor Brendan has not had a easy journey this is book three but there is more books that link this is a new journey and the leads are Emmet and brendan.Who was single they have love interests in this book but I am not sure if they will stick. I feel sorry for Brendan it feels like to me that he has out lived his life? He died a hero's death and it was years later he returned (see other series for details) his family found out they was druids (dad's secret he knew) and Fiona got activated (see her series) he did not know the world when returned, can understand his love interest nightshade she died and is still dead so mentally she can relate but she keeps him away from the living in some ways and how do she really feel she will not age or grow (kind of like a vampire frozen in time, can not have kids) she will be around when he goes.? I did wonder about that can the Angel help the ghosts to move on? Did Brendan make a secret deal with mother earth, is he only there until the place is up and running again. Looks like the lady's of light might be in next book.
A keen reason I enjoy Urban Fantasy, and fantasy books that spin off them, is the world and character building: A+. Narrative pacing. Adventure and heart. A lack of dark horror (at least the ones I choose) and manipulation of feelings. I can still recall TV shows while creators were so proud that they could be edgey and kill off anyone they chose. Here the reader can feel safe in the authors' hands. The last page doesn't conclude with, "and they all lived happily everafter." If you know the characters, you know such an ending just wouldn't ring true. Adventures would be yet to come. Life and mystery aren't so containable. I'm just glad that Emmett didn't end up as a super-guardian by becoming a replacement AI, still talking to family, but incorporeal. At one point that was a plot twist I feared.
Strange magical and spiritual storms develop in the city, the Light Weavers are not as helpful as was hoped, a spirit bison wants the dead mate of some glowing antlers found and new areas of the city environs are discovered. Things get really scary for a while, but in the end the Cumhaill’s conquer. One danger is removed, another possible shows up and then there are happy family/friend moments.
Fave scenes: the companion animals helping in the search, surviving the swamp, Emmitt’s bubble bath and Syma & Lyri’s decision.
Fun series continuing with and evidently completing the Clan Cumhaill druid stories. Emmett and Brendan focus as the primary characters in this book and the previous 2 in their storyline. It unveils the rebirth, battle for, and eventually peaceful finale of the Hidden City. Not as much action as previous books. Plenty of character growth and maturing decision making for Emmett and Brendan. A few long lived story lines are completed. A few future book storylines are laid out and/or introduced. Thanks for the ride - a fun family with tons of creativity in their adventures.
As usual this book was awesome. The way the characters interact with each other and love their families, along with the storylines that make you want to finish the books in one sitting. There is plenty of action, humor, and family in all the books and I am sorry the series is over. These will always be my go to rereads and I cannot wait for more books by both authors, either together or on their own.
This book was filled with all that we love about the series- complex plot, powerful and witty characters, and magic.
It's so fun to see nightfall and suede as they start to fit into clan Cumhaill. Benny experiencing and leaning some of his magic is stunning. Emmet grows up quite a bit from the start of the first series and this felt like the final pieces coming together
An awesome series that I hate to see end. Wonderful characters that have become a part of my life in this book journey of Druid’s. Some of the best stories and writing out these so if you haven’t this adventure twice I would recommend the audio books too. Those bring everything to life. The voices are spot on and make reading so much more intriguing. Happy reading All. On to more magical adventures.
I did a book binge and read all 31 books in the Urban Druid/Elementals series. I loved the stories and characters! The storylines were varied enough that they never felt repetitive (some authors just regurgitate the same story with different characters and locations) and really drew me in to the lives of Fi and her family and friends. That said, I really must request that Auburn Tempest and Michael Anderle not give up on the series!
At first I thought the story was a bit weak but then I realized this book wasn’t supposed to be about adventure and magic, it was about saying slan abhaile to Clan Cumhaill for all the readers who have grown to know and love them. Thank you for this walk through their world.
The light weavers are back, the dark weavers are still around, Clemmet and Bradon need to deal with both.
Throw in a spell that is not what it seams, a change in direction, a clog in the plumbing, an intelligent bison couple, and more mundane relationship issues and you have a great story.
I enjoyed the development of the brothers Cumhail. A fun adventure that nicely dovetailed into the rest of the series by Tempest and Anderle. Well done you two! And my thanks for the consistency in characters (that tweeks me if it isn’t) and the satisfying ending to the three-book series.
Condgratulations to Auburn Tempest and Michael Anderle for this amazing series. It’s extremely hard to find such interesting and e,xciting authors who not only write intelligently but also provide top rated plots, characters and excitement in the stories.
While it was a heartwarming end to the series, since I started with Book 1 of the first series I can’t help but be sad that our relationship has ended. Did Brendan and Nightfall end up together forever? Are Emmet and Suede going to have the little girl that Mother Nature showed Emmet? I’m not done reading about them…

And so ends the series that I really never wanted to end. Clan Cumhail rocks socks! Auburn, Michael, thanks so very much for bringing such joy and warmth to this grateful reader. How wonderful it is to have been blessed by a series and 2 such talented writers . A series that brought both laughter and tears. Thank you.
I f you ever read the author's notes you will see how much of her life experiences are in the. stories and how they changed her outlook on life. Her characters have so much more to give. I hope she. gives us more of this family. Thank you Martha.
A great end to another amazing series. I truly loved seeing the main characters from the original series finally get their HEA, and to see the stunning conclusion to Emmet’s wild adventure with the magical island and all its inhabitants, old and new.
Great story line, awesome job of bringing it all together. As the last book in the Urban series, it brings a good feeling. Definitely recommend reading all 31 books in order to get the full effect.
Well, I've got a frown on my face because I just finished the last book of Clan Cumhaill. The ending was beautiful and full of memories from all 31 books. DEFINITELY thinking about starting again with book1.
I have enjoyed this series so much. I also come from a large family and the family dynamic was like remembering my childhood, without the magic of course.
I loved the conflict between our guardians of the island and the light weavers now that they have awoken. I have a feeling we will see a few of the sisters turn to the dark in order to reclaim their spot as the saviors of the island. You can see that while Brenny and Emmett weren’t thrilled to feel demoted, they still fought to protect the people and adapted to moving into new homes.
The thunder stags were a great addition to this book, and I hope we get to see them again and hopefully they bond with Brendan similarly to Fiona and Dart. We finally got Brendan his druid spark, so I really want to see him learn and wield druid powers in the next book.
I will say after all the hype of the dark weavers over the last few books to find that they just left peacefully expect for the attack by the light weavers was kind of disappointing. Part of me wants to see them return with a vengeance and the other would rather see the light weaver sisters fall to evil.
