I’m a foster mom to six rambunctious kids. He’s the sexy, surly bodyguard who moves in and takes over. After someone tries to break into my house, he thinks I need his protection and all the help I can get. I think he needs an attitude adjustment.
The past two years have been peaceful until now. Ever since the newest edition to our home arrived, the son of a Columbian drug lord who recently escaped federal custody, I feel like I’m constantly being watched.
When there’s an attempt on my life, I start to believe that I might be in a teensy-weensy bit of trouble. It’s nothing I can’t handle.
I’m elbow-deep in diapers and danger when Jerry and his merry band of misfits from Shining Knight appear out of nowhere and offer their assistance. Wanting to keep the children safe but unable to protect them on my own, I reluctantly accept.
My grumpy protector believes the Cartel might be after the child. I’m not sure I agree. Despite my bubbly personality and winning smile, I’ve made a few enemies of my own. As bullets start flying and deception rears its ugly head, the time for keeping secrets is over.
Out of ammo and short on hope, I have no choice but to drop to my knees in surrender—praying for a miracle. Because a miracle is exactly what we’ll need if we plan to survive.

In this book we meet Roslynn Peretti (Rosie) and her mother Margot who are foster parents. Presently they have 6 children in their care. But these are not just any children these kids are from parents that are in the witness protection program. These parents have agreed that the kids are safer in someone else's care right now. Right now, they have a 3-year-old little boy Charlie (not his real name as their names are changed for protection as well) and his dad is the head of the Columbian drug lord who recently escaped federal custody during transport. Little Charlie arrived in the middle of the night to the safety of their home. This home is just not any home either it has a safe room that will hold over 16 people and also has two different means of escaping the home in case of an emergency.
On her way from a fund raiser one dark and rainy night Rosie thought she was being followed to her car. When she finally got there safely inside, she spotted a homeless man, and she had a care package in her car that she gave him, and he seemed very appreciative. She also noticed that he had a perfect teeth in his broad smile when he thanked her, which was unusual for a homeless person. On her drive home someone tried to run her off of the road and actually hit her a couple of times, once making her car do a spin in the road. She was trying to make sure she was not being followed to the house she was being extra careful. When she told her mother of the incidents, she insisted they hire someone to help keep an eye on them and the kids, so Margot called Shining Knight Protective Services.
They sent a team to them, and the team rented a house right next door trying to not look suspicious. The team is all very nice, but Rosie did not want them there. One of the escape routes is a tunnel between the Peretti house and the rental property so it makes it convenient to transport equipment to the house without being seen. Jerry is in charge of the team that arrived, and they sleep at the rental house while spending most of the day protecting them all and they have meals together so they can all get acquainted with each other and the kids. So, they get all settled in and they wait for the fun to begin.
This book was fantastic! I especially loved the part where Jerry got saved. I loved seeing how he turned to the Lord and the steps he went through to get there. I am sure that many people feel like he did and think that the Lord turned his back on them and do not see the positive side where the Lord was there all along. But with a lot of people, they do not have anyone there to lead them to the Lord. A lot of people do not take the time to thank the Lord for the miracles we have every day getting out of bed, food for our tables and a roof over our heads and that is just to name a few. I am sitting here today and looking out of my window watching the hummingbirds eat at the feeder and seeing the miracle of the beauty that the Lord made for us to enjoy every day. This book has miracles all throughout the book and I know that you will see them all when you are reading it. And I know that you are going to love it just as much as I did.
I am proud to say that I am part of the ARC team for Madison and will be happy to leave my review.
Rosslyn (Rosie) is a foster mom to kids who have been displaced due to their parents being under witness protection. One day, she gets into trouble and her mother decides that they need additional protection to keep them safe.
Jerry who is with the Shining Knight Protective Services gets assigned to protect Rosie and her family. As part of the job, he ends up saying with them in the foster home. However, he doesn’t fully trust Rosie at first as she is hiding secrets from them.
After a series of events, Rosie finally reveals the truth to Jerry and Jerry also overcomes his fear of getting close to anyone. In the midst of danger, Jerry also opens up his heart to learn more about God and to accept Christ.
This is not a typical romance book as it is filled with suspense, and also Christian-related anecdotes hence making this an interesting read.
This story sucked me in from chapter one and I couldn’t not put it down! I love it so much I went and bought a paperback copy.
Jerry is Mr. Toughguy and has no plans of changing nor falling for anyone…ever. He makes no apologies for being who he is, but then he gets assigned to head a mission where he has to keep two women and 6 foster kids safe from an unknown threat.
Roslyn (Rosie) is stubborn, independent and as hard headed as they come. Raised and trained by her FBI father, after his death she steps in his place to help her mom run a safe house for kids whose parents are in the witness protection program. She is a steel vault and no one can crack her… that is until she meets her match in the form of a man with piercing blue eyes.
This story was absolutely riveting. The suspense will keep you at the edge of your seat. The characters show chemistry at the perfect time and don’t play games with each other. There’s a perfectly modest amount of kissing and it focuses on the emotions rather than physical actions. And first and foremost it was a story that led one of these characters to put their trust in Christ. I’n the end he got the miracle he’d been waiting for and it was a powerful display of the result when we put our faith in Jesus and seek His protection when our abilities fail.
Madison Love knocked it out of the park for me. Five stars because I can’t go any higher. You absolutely MUST read this book.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Tropes:
* Grumpy MMC * stunborn independent FMC * Found family * Romantic Suspense * Law enforcement/protection agency * Single foster Mom * Christ centered & faith journey * Sizzling chemistry & steamy kisses * closed door
Thank you for ,the book as a free gift as a ARC Reader and I will give a honest reviews.
I really love this book and I would read it again. I love how Rosie and her mom how she take of the children under their care there parents in in hidding can come back get them or place in adoption. Then dangerous situations came when she was coming home where they needed more protection for her and the children and she told her mom. Her mom called Shining Kights to help and protect them. Rosie didn't like at first, but as she got things change.
Jerry is on Shinning Kight team is the lead and stop believing in God and think he can only depend on his self. Rosie is a strong believer and she do anything to protect her family and the children. Her and Jerry doesn't get along at first, because she hiding a secret of her job and others things. So trust is not there at first as story progress you see the their from no trust, friendship to love and it natural progress not force or rush. Rosie do witness to him and children help him also. Rosie mom have to reminded her as times not be forced and this remind me as Christian we can't force a person to be save or listen to us. You see process of Jerry been save at end and miracle happens.
As story progress.. It get even better action, friendships, love, fights near death experience, going into hiding, finding out secrets and more. You fall in love with each characters and children and their personalities. You feel like you watching movies as use your imagination. You can feel ever emotions and love and the Love of God from Mother, Rosie's, children and Kight team. You want read more of Madison books each one will make fall in love.
Roslynn and her mother Margot are foster parents to 6 children, the newest child being the son of a Columbian drug cartel leader. The children in their care aren't the typical foster children; they're kids that have been displaced because their parents have gone into witness protection. Lately Roslynn has felt like she's being watched wherever she goes; and when she's run off the road on her way home one night, Margot calls Shining Knight Protective Services for help. The team arrives, rents the house next door, with Jerry heading up the team. He stays with the women and foster kids to provide immediate protection. Rosslyn has secrets, and so does Jerry. As Jerry shares life and meals with Rosslyn, Margot, and the children, he begins to soften. If only he could witness a miracle and believe like Rosslyn and Margot do. Jerry and Rosslyn gradually develop a relationship. Jerry's tough man image begins to soften, and Rosslyn starts to notice. When danger comes knocking, the team steps it up several notches, making spur-of-the moment decisions to save everyone. "Resolute" is a page-turning, stay-up-late story that starts off running and continues throughout. The kids add another dimension to the storyline, as do Jerry and Rosslyn as they battle their feelings for each other while trying to stay one step ahead of the bad guys. Margot is a strong and prayerful woman, full of wisdom. I loved this clean romantic suspense and highly recommend it as well as all the books in the Shining Knight Protectors series. I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review.
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is book 4 in the Shining Knight Protectors Series and can be read as a standalone. The book's blurb gives you a good idea of what to expect. Resolute is told through Rosie and Jerry's pov and is a great Christian suspense romance.
CW: themes of drugs and human trafficking, and abandonment Spice: descriptive, but not overly detailed, kisses
As a foster mom to six children, Rosie's priority is care for them the best that she can. When it appears like she's in danger and her mom hires the Shinning Knight protectors, Rosie isn't sure how to feel about Jerry, the leader of the group. While Jerry can't deny that he's attracted to Rosie's "I can handle it" attitude he fears she's hiding something and wants to keep her at a distance. Yet, the more time they are forced together, the harder it becomes their growing feelings for each other. I liked the banter that they had and how their actions spoke louder than words. Rosie began to realize that Jerry was someone to rely on while Jerry learned of the fears she carried. I liked seeing them slowly open up their hearts to each other. I also liked that through Rosie and her family's example Jerry was able to trust in God's existence once again. Aside from their relationship, the dynamics of the Shinning Knights was fun to read and I liked how they also formed bonds with Rosie and her family. Towards the end some things did unravel quickly and lots was revealed but I enjoyed the action of the story and how it kept me guessing. Overall, fans who like Christian suspense should certainly give this one a read.
This is the 4th book in the “Shining Knight Protectors Series”. It can be read as a standalone book. I have not read the previous books, but enjoyed this one immensely.
Each book tells the story of one of the employees of the Shining Knight Protectors agency. It’s a close knit group of highly trained individual’s. This book tells Jerry’s story. He’s the guy with the gruff exterior who has a heart of gold. When he meets Roslynn the sparks begin to fly and the gruff exterior starts to melt.
This book is action packed, and a fun read! Roslynn and her mother Margot are taking care of six foster children for the WITSEC program. Roslynn has secrets that bring danger to her door. That is when her mom, Margot, hires “Shining Knight Protector’s” to keep everyone safe. Jerry takes an immediate interest in Roslynn and is determined to find out what she’s hiding.
The book has several point of view characters which help keep the story exciting by providing enough details to not be too predictable. The characters stories continue to develop throughout the book which helps to keep the reader actively engaged till the end. There were a couple of things in the book that I found to be predictable, but they didn’t take away from the story.
I didn’t want to include any spoilers in my review since I want whomever decides to read it to not have any preconceived notions.
I was given an advance reading copy of this book. It was my pleasure to write a review and it was not something I was required to do.
This was another wonderful addition to the Shining Knight's series. Madison Love certainly has a phenomenal cast of characters that have been systematically been finding their special partner as they help rid the world of nefarious evils along the way. Jerry, our resident grump, finally meets his match when tasked with protecting Roslynn, Margot, and the kids. With the help of his team, they are determined to isolate abd eliminate the threat, all while keeping the kids safe and happy. Quite the tall order when Roslynn is keeping extremely pertinent information a secret. (And she's pissy they don't trust her - it's a wonder!!)
This book is chalk full of tension, lies, manipulation, action, family drama, and romance. It is definately Christian based, and at times does get a but heavy handed in that respect (more than some of Love's earlier works). Appropriately, it is also a clean romance, with physical contact limited to kissing. The kids in this book, especially Lizzy, really seal the deal. They're brightness lightens the heaviness of the subject matter, and offers a time to mentally reset for the next high stress episode.
This book certainly left me looking forward to the next Knight to take the fall. I'm thinking Jessie... I received a gift copy of this book and freely volunteered my review. Here's hoping you enjoy it as much as I did. Happy Reading Y'all 📚
This is a fantastic series that gets better with every book. The suspense and action are more compelling each time, as new situations are encountered. There are also lovely moments of connection, completion, reunion and salvation.
Rosie and Jerry compliment each other so well. But with six children under the age of 15, there is no way that controlled pandemonium will not ensue, and privacy is a rare commodity. I loved the warm and nurturing home that Rosie's nom created for her very special foster children, and the way Margot and Rosie made them feel safe and loved for themselves. It was fun watching the SKPS team join in with the children at play, lending normalcy to all of their lives.
The banter between the members of the SKPS team was sharp and witty, and showcased each character's personality but also their tight bond with the rest of the team. Especially, I loved the way Rosie and Jerry slowly dropped their defensive walls and talked about issues as they got to know each other at levels they had never opened to anyone else.
I received a free advance copy of this story from Booksprout and voluntarily chose to share my review.
This series is a lot of fun to read and keeps you on the edge of your seat with stories full of suspense, danger and romance.
Jerry is one the Shining Knight Protectors assigned to protect a foster mom and her six foster children. Rosie has come home to help her mom take care of the six foster children she is taking care of. This isn't your typical foster situation, though, because all of these children have parents who are in danger. While they aren't in the witness protection they are surrounded by danger and the Shining Knights are determined to keep them safe.
Jerry has his own experience with danger and betrayal. He has no intention of ever trusting anyone with his love so he would never risk being hurt again. But, Rosie and her foster kids begin to get under his skin and he might just change his mind about love but is it too late to save them all from the danger that won't seem to go away.
This is story is clean and wholesome and full of danger and intrigue to keep your interest along with some very swoony romantic moments.
I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my honest review.
Have been fortunate enough to read all of the books in this series. It was nice seeing Carter's wedding in this story. Carter and Leanna's love story was in the first book and enjoyed seeing their marriage happen.
Big fan of the handsome Jerry on the cover as I was always trying to figure out exactly how he looks. He always read handsomely. Another big factor for enjoying this book is the explanation that Roslynn and her mother, Margot, explained Christianity and what is entailed in being a Christian and believing to Jerry, It was all very natural and true. Roslynn is a sweetheart and wanted to hide important info that she did for a job for the CIA and even though she cared deeply for Jerry she never came out with the total truth. Jerry found out from his co-workers Savannah and Ethan. suspense was in this story, like all the others, and kept me glued to the story
Really enjoyed this story and didn't want it to end.
I received a free copy, ARC, for my voluntary and free review.
Nothing is too hard for the Shining Knight Protectors when it comes to protecting people ... except when they need to protect their hearts. Jerry is Mr Tough guy who doesn't do emotions ... until he meets Rosie, her mother Margot and their foster kids. They need protection from unknown attackers and Jerry and his team are tasked with the job. No matter what happens they are prepared to step in and defend them all.
Madison Love writes wonderful romantic suspense books with a strong Christian faith element. She builds a wonderful sense of comradery between the Shining Knight team and when you mix in little kids and vulnerable women it makes for an entertaining read. I read this so fast because I did not want to put it down, the tension and romance had me hooked right until the end.
This is the first book that I have read of this series and I was able to read it easily as a stand alone. It does make me want to go back and read the rest of the series however! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
I love the fact that this is a Christian novel, romance, mystery, action, but at the same time it’s not sappy. I’ve read a lot of Christian romance my whole life, and many authors tend to make the heroine or the hero perfect in how they treat others or in character. Rosie loves God, but she has her flaws. She was driving me crazy because she had the secret that she was not telling Jerry or his coworkers. I wanted to scream, “Tell him already!”
The best part of this book is that the Gospel is presented throughout it. Anyone who reads it and is not a believer, will get it explained to them insuch detail. I pray that people who read this book will understand how much God loves them, and will put their trust in Him alone.
I was given an advanced copy of this book for free, and I’m leaving my review voluntarily.
I am in LOVE with this book —Another scintillating story in the Shining Knight Protectors series! I love the banter, the chemistry, the great characters, the storyline, the action and the intrigue!!! It’s clean and wholesome without losing any of the feels! Superb! One example of the tantalizing prose comes when Rosie is reminded that you can’t judge a book by its cover . . . “Who am I kidding? If Jerry were on the cover, I’d be the first in line to buy a copy just to soak in his mesmerizing blue eyes and piercing gaze. I guess it’s time to open the book and see if it’s worth reading past the first chapter.” I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This was a fantastic book. It was a captivating experience and it was a page turner . And the suspense was very emotional. I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t even imagine of put it down. Jerry was a grumpy and Rosie were compassionate people who will doing anything for their love ones. It has joy , love, affectionate , heartfelt warmth and romance within these characters. They were very protective over these six children’s that was part of their lives. The chemistry between them was strong as the physical attraction was sexual tension. They had to keep them safe. I definitely recommend this book and you won’t be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion. Trina Jones
Clean Christian romance. Full of inspiration. Rosie has secrets she keeps that endangers the foster kids and her family. Her best friend is an undercover agent as well. Shining Knight is called in to protect them from an unknown threat. During this time Rosie shares her faith in God to Jerry. Through her he learns about God and eventually excepts Chist as his savior when he witnesses the many miracles during his mission of protecting Rosie and her family. Rosie is a stubborn, smart, brave woman that believed in God's love and grace. Jerry is also stubborn, kind and protective of thos he cares for. This story is full of action, danger, faith and love with a happy ending for Rosie and Jerry.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This book had a profound affect on me. Madison Love used Margot Peretti to so beautifully provide an explanation as to why God allows bad things to happen to good people. Rosie fostered special children, but in the last few days, she felt as if she was being followed. Hence the engaging of the Shining Knight Protectors to help investigate and provide security. Jerry and the team arrived and the puzzle begins. So much emotion shown amongst the children and adults as well as the suspense and angst of finding and solving the direction of danger. This author writes an amazing Christian romantic suspense novel. I received a copy from BookSirens Reviews and this is my honest and voluntary review.
This book is one in a series of modern Christian romance/suspense novels revolving around a group of people who work in private security. This book features Jerry, whose team has become a client of Roslynn.
This is the 4th book in the Shining Knight Protectors series but is set in a world that includes other series by this author. I did end up reading all the previous books in this series so I had context for this review.
There are some heavy themes in this book (witness protection, etc) but the romance themes were clean, which is to be expected in this genre.
This book is easy to read, with a good balance of dialogue and exposition. Of the entire series, this was the most overtly Christian to the point of characters having visions. I have no problem with this, but it was quite unlike the previous stories in the series and took me by surprise.
One of my struggles with this book is that the character arcs feel rushed and inconsistent. I felt as if it went from "I don't like you" to "I really like you" abruptly and felt out of character based on the beginning of the book. It eventually fell into a flow, but I found the beginning of the book jarring. Typically I would expect a few more ups and downs with the internal struggle of the characters. Most of the struggle was external.
If you like the Christian romance genre, I think this would be a fun read. I do recommend reading it in series order which gives a bit more background to the characters and plot.
I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
One thing I love about this series is that it has it all including suspense, mystery and intrigue, but it also has a little romance, faith messages and plenty of witty banter to lighten the book and its characters.
Rosie and her mother, Margot, have a very unique job. They foster children who need a safe home because of their parents' situation. You will just have to read it to understand it more fully. I do not want to overshare.
The action and suspense will keep you on your toes, while the story of the two main characters will make your heart soar.
This is another wonderful installment in this series.
Thank you to BookSirens and the author for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Another great book in a great series. Really enjoyed reading it, can’t wait for the next book in the series. Recommend it to everyone, especially those who love romance mixed with suspense as they wait for the threat to materialize. The H is a grump who has no need for love, it’s good for others not for him. The h is not looking for love she has enough with the care of 6 foster children. Love finds them anyway. When it looks like the threat is imminent the team is reinforced and all move into the h home. When the attack comes it is in a big way and the H gets the help of angels whom he previously didn’t believe in. H and h get their HEA. Enjoy your read!
Resolute is my first book by the author, and even though it is not the first of the series, I found it to be an engaging read. I didn’t feel lost in a sea of different characters. Past characters are introduced in a way that doesn’t distract from principle duo. This is fast paced and has good action moments to help move the story along. It is nice to read a clean action/love story where attraction isn’t the main or only emotion. Rosie and Jerry are a cute couple and their story is sweet. If you’re looking a quick entertaining read, this story is a good one. I’m looking forward to reading the other books in the series. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
The plot of this book is complex and intriguing. There are multiple characters that make it interesting. Jerry is a grump of the sweetest sort. Roslynn is sassy and won’t back down, which drives Jerry wild. There were some points where believability was stretched but not to the point of fantasy. There were punctuation errors that bugged my OCD heart and the ending was lackluster and overly simplistic but overall I enjoyed the story. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is my honest opinion.
Jerry's coworker told him he was going to fall in love with a woman with six kids. He laughed until he got an assignment protecting Rosie, her mom, and their 6 foster children. Was it a curse or a blessing? Rosie's family is definitely in danger. However they don't know if it's due to the kids, her best friend, or whatever secrets she's keeping from the team. Will they get the answers they need in time to save everyone? Did the prediction come true?.
I received a copy of this book from the author. Review voluntarily given.
I keep wondering if this series can get any better and of course it continues to be a 5 star in my humble opinion!! 😉 There are so many things I LOVE about this book, specifically people who struggle with their faith and end up finding it through a set of difficult circumstances. Jerry and Rosie have their flaws, just like everyone else yet they are able to grow and find not only love, but a faith that they share. I honestly can’t wait to read the next book in this series!!.
I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Jerry had a terrible life as a youngster, even though his parents were filthy rich they were terribly poor showing live and affection. Jerry gave up on believing in God until Rosie showed him how to believe and how to Love also. Through several tragedies in his adult life and finding Rosie Jerry goes through an incredible transformation in his beliefs and learns to live not only Rosie but Little Lilly. Excellent book keeping you on the edge of your seat while giving several injections of laughter. A definite five star.
This sounded good, and I was enjoying the story, however it is very much a Christian novel. Yes, the Amazon blurb states that it is a Christian romantic suspense, however I went into this thinking it would be more along the lines of Carolyn Brown… my bad. It turns out to be more generous with religious content than I was expecting, and honestly, it just distracted me from the suspense filled whodunnit plot of the story. Not a bad book, just not for me.
Another great book in the Shining Knights series!! Jerry had trauma in his past that he had to confront and heal from. I enjoyed the chemistry between Jerry and Roslyn (Rosie). This book is well written and has suspense, action, and romance. This story kept me up late and reading until I finished it! Faith, prayer, forgiveness, and redemption through Jesus were all present as well as angels. So glad I found this series!! Highly recommend!! I received a complimentary ARC of this book and have voluntarily given my honest opinion in this review. All thoughts and opinions are my own
Jerry and Roslynn meet at the home where she and her mom are foster parents for several children whose parents are in WITSEC. She resents the Shining Knight Protectors being involved at all. However, after several strange incidents she acknowledges they might be needed. The plot is full of suspense and surprises, When asked what it would take for Jerry to become a believer, he replies, "A miracle". Little does he know what God has in store for him. This is beautiful story of seeing God's plan working out in amazing ways. I really loved it.
Another good one: This was another exciting addition to what has already been a solid Christian romantic suspense series. There was plenty of action but this was balanced out well with interesting dialogue. There was a sweet, if not somewhat simplistic, romance between Jerry and Rosie. I also enjoyed the faith aspects which were woven seamlessly throughout the story. I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are solely my own.
