Sascha has always felt powerless, the weak baby of a cruel family. But that’s fine. He has his looks, his ample allowance, and a smattering of one-night stands to keep him busy. But when Sascha’s oldest brother offends the wrong people, Sascha finds himself in hiding with a target on his back. And when poking around in his temporary home leads to accidentally summoning the hottest demon Sascha could ever imagine, he has to ask does he want to feel powerless anymore?
Kai has been waiting centuries for a summons. When he’s at long last brought to the human realm for his final contract, he expects to find another warrior hungry for battle and bloodshed. Instead, he finds himself bound to a saucy, scared mobster princeling who can’t stop looking at Kai like he’s dinner. It isn’t long before Kai decides that—for once—he wouldn’t mind staying exactly where he is, with a certain human for his mate.
But Sascha isn’t used to anyone sticking around, let alone caring for him in any real way. It’s up to Kai to convince Sascha he can give him so much more than protection. He just has to deal with those pesky enemies—and Sascha’s own meddling family—first.
Wreaking Havoc is a heated MM paranormal romance with a HEA and no cliffhanger. It contains a spoiled (or is it traumatized?) mafia prince with trust issues, the cocky warrior demon who wants nothing more than to pamper him for eternity, a stifling family, elusive enemies, and the frustration of never getting to finish a manicure.
Grae Bryan has been reading romance since she was far too young to know any better. Her love for love stories spans all genres, and while her current series is of the paranormal variety, she knows she’ll be exploring other worlds further down the line.
She lives in Arizona with her husband, who graciously shares space with all the imaginary men in her head. When not writing, she can generally be found reading more than is healthy, walking her monster-dog, or cuddling her demon-cat. She loves anything and everything gothic, strange, lovely, or cozy.
Grae Bryan's first demon book is cute, flirty, humorous, entertaining, and sexy. It's not without angst, mostly to do with Sascha's childhood, but the tone is light and breezy.
Sascha has problems. His favorite brother, Alexei, left him and ran. His other (kind of scary) brother, Ivan, sent Sascha away for his own good (although it doesn't feel like it).
Oh, and Sascha has summoned a warrior demon using electric blue nail polish and a paper cut.
Kai needs one more human contract before the thousand soul pieces he collected over the millennia bring him more prestige or whatever. But Sascha's soul feels so good, Kai doesn't want to let go.
Sascha is a bratty princess, but I had fun with him. He needs to be coddled and worshipped, and Kai is just the man ... errr ... demon for the job.
There's some danger to do with the Italian mafia threatening Sascha's life, but the plot feels more like an aside.
I loved visiting with Alexei and Jay again. According to Sascha, Jay dances like a robot having a seizure. Bless his vampy heart.
I wanted more relationship development and more depth in general. Kai doesn't have much of a personality, and the demon realm is barely sketched.
I'm looking forward to more demons though. Nightmare is particularly intriguing.
This was really fun to read, mainly for the characters and their antics though because the plot was so flimsy - it was basically an excuse for Sascha to have a load of Demon sex with Kai 😂😂
I loved the introduction of Buff Dude, Seth and Matteo and I'm interested to see if they pop up again in future stories. Also loved seeing Alexei and Jay again - Jay 'attacking' Ivan had me giggling.
I'm intrigued by Ivan and his incubus and their story which is coming next - again I'm feeling like it will be smut heavy and plot light, but somehow Grae Bryan makes it work in a way that I don't get bored and start skimming all the sex scenes.
Too insta everything for more than 3 stars, but still a lot of fun, especially for fans of the Vampire’s Mate series
Remember Alexej, the mobster-brother on the run who fell in love with the vampire twink Jay (before turning into a vampire himself)? This is the story of Sascha, his younger brother, who accidentally summons a demon (named Kai).
I loved the beginning - nice idea to paint the summoning symbols with nail polish 🤣 The premise was great - the spoiled, a bit flighty brother of a mob boss, who needs to hide after an assassination attempt. And the huge, slightly bored demon. A shame the entire book/plot was used merely as an excuse for a lot of demon sex, and to set up the pairings for the sequels. It wasn’t bad per se, I enjoyed a lot of scenes (like the ones where Kai “procures” a friend for Sascha), but the book didn’t live up to its premise.
3.25 stars - I’m definitely more excited about the next book (featuring Ivan the mob boss and Nix the incubus).
2,75 stars. Funny and sexy concept, a light story with some gruesome parts, but not very memorable.
This book had insta lust and near insta love, both not my favorites. And all the demon- sex didn't really balance the bland and a bit boring storyline out. Kai's character as sweet and caring (but still blood thirsty and frightening) demon was a nice idea, but Sascha's character wasn't developed well in my opinion.
Wrecking Havoc is the first entry in the demon spinoff series focusing on Alexei's younger brother Sascha who is sweet and in desperate need of some protection. He accidentally summons a demon, Kai, who is the answer to all his problems. Kai is quick to act, protect, and defend against any perceived enemy of Sascha's. Together they go on a hilarious journey that is both entertaining and steamy.
I loved getting more insight into Sascha's Russian family and their dynamics. Sascha, Ivan, and Alexei have such a dysfunctional upbringing, which makes each brother process and deal with that fallout differently.
Overall I loved getting Sascha's story and look forward to Ivan's story with Nix. That was certainly unexpected and I look forward to all the hijinks involved.
*** I received a complimentary copy of this story.***
Admitted, I shouldn’t have dragged out reading this over daaays (but I had shit to do okay?? and this book obv didn’t make me come rushing back to it as soon as I got a free minute, so…) otherwise I probably would’ve enjoyed it more.
Anyway, I still enjoyed this book although I found the first half of it way more exciting and entertaining than the second half.
I’ll probably go for the next one, regardless. I’m highly intrigued by both upcoming main characters.
************** Demon Bound Series
Book 1 - Wreaking Havoc - 3.5 stars Book 2 - tbd (Ivan & Nix) Book 3 - tbd (Matteo & Nightmare?)
3.5 stars. I read this cause I wanted a light, fluffy, silly goose time that was quick and easy to read when I’ve been time poor due to adult responsibilities (gross) and that is exactly what this delivered.
Considering this was a mafia/ demon PNR it was a surprisingly light and fluffy dynamic with fated mates/ insta lusty vibes and a bit of monster fucking cause why not. If you turn your head sideways and squint really hard you can kind of see a plot but I would definitely not go into this with the expectation of high literature.
Grae Bryan's vampires were a whole delicious snack of a series and now she's starting off with another tasty introduction to her demons.
I was delighted to hear she was giving us Sascha's story, Alexei's younger brother seemed to be a fascinating character when he appeared in his story.
And so he proved, a lovely blend of softness but with an inner strength that came out when he had something important to fight for.
His demon Kai is a warrior with a heart waiting to find his own soul mate to treasure and spoil and the pretty wee thing who accidentally summons him is perfectly suited to the role.
This is low angst, high heat paranormal romance with an excellent slice of humour on top, just like her vampires were and it's such an enjoyable read.
I'm beyond excited for book two though! No spoilers as to the pairing but I didn't see it coming!
Soft hearted and secretly flamboyant youngest brother of a Bratva family summons a demon with nail polish. The warrior demon smells like BBQ Sauce and is willing to protect, spoil and mate said twinkish non mobster for all eternity. They meet with the vampire brother and BIL and they defeat a rival family while fucking like bunnies and being obnoxiously sweet and tender and caring. And now I'm off to summon a demon because life sucks.
Buddy read with Cedes who is summoning her own demon. Because adulting sucks.
Ahh this was so good, I loved it so much! I am very excited for this new series with new obsessive monsters and their wonderful mates. Who would have thought a demon love story could be so sweet. I loved these two together from the start, and I loved the Alexei and Jay cameo. Can’t wait for Ivan and Nixs story, as well as Matteo’s, Seth’s and possibly Buff Dudes? Grae has yet to write a book that I didn’t completely devour and adore.
It was fine but I think it relied too heavily on readers being invested from the Vampires Mate series and didn’t give adequate effort to building out the characters and having a really interesting plot. It was overly simplistic and too insta love, to the point where it was a bit ridiculous.
“Your propensity for big dicks does not excuse you lusting after a creature from another dimension.”
3.75⭐️ (I mean, I had a good time even if it wasn’t that deep.)
Truly, there’s nothing I can really say about this book. I mean, it’s a hot, sexy time — so if you’re looking for a story where a mafia twink gets a giant demon cock shoved up his ass a few times, well, this is for you. That’s the plot, my dude.
there was crack in this. i read this in like 2 seconds. it was so hot, so funny. so sweet. i’m so freaking excited for this series. i wish she would release the rest of the books this week
This was a sweet read about Sascha, who is Alexei's brother (from Grae Bryan's other series Vampire's Mate), and his summoned Demon, Kai. Who is adorable even though he's meant to be a scary Demon!
It follows a similar formula to the Vampire's Mate series, but I love those books, so I'm not complaining.
This is a low angst, funny story with some yummy human-monster sexy times and plenty of sweetness.
Well this was a weird experience, reading without an audiobook. It’s been over 3 years since I’ve done that and it took me way longer than I anticipated! It’s weird reading and having it be my inner voice rather than another person reading the book haha!
Anyways back to the book! This started out as what I thought would be a 4 star read, then around the 30-40% mark it started to slow down and more instalove/rushed relationship things happened that then made me lose focus.
I always love a sassy demon coming in to the human world and falling for a human, so this had all the potential for a 4 star or higher read. But the pacing of the relationship felt off to me.
Overall it was a cute read, but somewhat forgettable… I might pick it back up again when it comes out on audio(depending on the narrator of course)! Also you do get a small cameo from Alexei (Sascha’s brother) and Jay from the “Vampire Mates” series!
Cute but a bit boring, the insta-love and insta-mating is without any depth. What's with Alexei and jay?? The animal shelter is more important than your brother? I get that we needed to see the reunion but it is poorly set.
LOVED Kai. He was perfect! Absolute perfection. 🥺 I liked when Sascha showed his neediness to Kai. I also really loved seeing Jay and Alexei again.
Unfortunately I did find some parts of the story to be dragging and not really holding my attention. Tho the ending had my interest piqued at sweet Matteo possibly summoning Nightmare, too bad that’s not the next book, I do prefer sweet over sassy characters 🙈
This was a great little read! I’m such a fan of Grae Bryan’s writing - always compelling characters and hot spicy scenes!
This series follows bratty twink Sascha (Alexei from the Vampire’s mate series’ brother) the youngest son of a Mafia family. He is targeted by a rival family and accidentally summons a demon when in exile in Maine. Kai is wonderful - if you enjoy the micro-trope of ‘monsters who have no idea how to live in the modern world but they’re gonna give it a bloody good try for their mate’ then I have excellent news for you 😹
Read for: ✨ Demon x Human ✨ Mafia ✨ Monster anatomy ✨ Bratty twink x himbo who loves him ✨ Coffee obsessed demon ✨ Mating bond (with mating bite)
I am so excited for this series and this first book did not disappoint! I absolutely loved Kai and Sacsha and found myself smiling a lot. Sacsha is Alexei’s (from Vampire’s Mate) younger brother and has been kinda sheltered and ignored by his mafia family. Accidentally summoning a demon was the best thing to ever happen to him though and Kai was such a beautiful marshmallow. Seriously, he was goddamn adorable.
The overall vibe of this book was great and I am looking forward to getting to know the other demons. I’m already in love with Nix and can’t wait to get Ivan’s redemption story. I’m a sucker for found families and this is already shaping up to be that.
Um YES give me more of this series ASAP! As an avid fan of Grae Bryan's vampire series I was really excited when they mentioned they were venturing into DEMONS! What I didn't realize, silly me, was that the human MC in this book was Sacha AKA the baby brother of Alexei from Johann. That was a pleasant and welcome surprise!
Sacha was such a little spit fire. Being the "pampered" little brother of a Mafia Don has its perks, but it is also incredibly lonely. I mean, how do meet friends? Date? Nobody could ever meet your family and even if they could who would want to introduce them to someone like Ivan anyways. That's not even getting into how Ivan demanded Sacha dress completely opposite to what his personality wanted. Honestly, I'm with Alexei on this one. Ivan is a dick of the highest order.
Kai was amazing. He recognized what a gem of a human Sacha was and became determined to make him his. He did so in the best way too, by showing Sacha how cherished and cared for he'd be if he accepted Kai as his demon mate. I don't know how Sacha held out for as long as he did with how lovely Kai was. They were just so good together!
Now I'm super interested in the remainder of the Demons left in the void, particularly Nightmare. I'm pretty positive on Bryan's plans for him and I cannot freaking wait! But first, we have Ivan. Ivan, who appears to have ended up with a lot more than he bargained for and I hope his demon gives him a damn good run for his money. We all know Grae can spin a redemption arc with the best of them and I'm interested to see how everything plays out next!
Looooooved Michael Ferraiuolo's narration (as usual) so it was a fun time but not my favorite book by Grae Bryan. Michael always does great with characters with some sass and Sascha was no different.
Hoping the next couple books come out on audio sooner rather than later 🤞
Sasha braiding Kai's hair before the battle... You are not prepared
The levels of sweetness of this book are sky-high. Kai is the cutest, cutest, most adorable thing ever. I wish they had had a wedding ceremony and Kai and Alexei became besties, but for the moment I'm satisfied that they get along well.
At first I didn't like Ivan, but then I understood... He is also a broken child and like Alexei and Sasha he needs to find his mate.
I loved the book and will look forward to the next one
This book was an Amazon #1 read in the m/m paranormal romance genre with an abundance of 5 star reviews. Everyone has their own preferences and are free to read and love whatever they choose. For me this totally missed the mark. At its core the writing lacked substance, imagination and full-bodied dynamics. At times the characters were rather infantile which made the overall storyline a chore to fully engage in. It read like a bad teenage novel with adult sexual promiscuity. I was bored to distraction. It was mediocre at its best. I have read and enjoyed many LGBTQ2S+ romance fantasy novels that conveyed a comprehensive well-versed captivating story. This certainly isn't one of them. My first and definitely my last by this author.
Dnf FOR NOWWW at 77% I don’t know what’s happening to me, I can’t quite concentrate on this one. It’s like I can’t pay attention to it. I’m not getting attached to the characters whatsoever (even though usually I really do). It’s like I keep zoning out or something. It didn’t capture my attention strongly enough ☹️ It’s like being in a book slump while reading a book… Blame my acute and strong case of ADHD 💔 I WILL COME BACK (hopefully if I don’t forget about it), so I’m shelving this on my “dnf continue later” shelf.
This was very good. Good characters, satisfying plot, intriguing setup for more in the series, no diminishing of childhood trauma, but no undo dwelling on the grisly details, either. The title doesn't really fit, but I don't care. Sascha is a pampered mob kid, Kai is bored--until Sascha summons him. This is a "spicy" story but more than that, less about the sex and more about their connection, which is my favorite. I will definitely read the next in the series, when it comes out.
