It's hard for me to judge this work because its context is so removed from the 21st century. But I appreciate the melancholy, courage, and honor that the author communicates. And I like seeing Jesus as the epic hero, full of courage.

Of the three old epic poem-stories I've taken it upon myself to read, this was definitely my favorite. I liked the premise: the tree which became the cross of Christ tells its tale of supporting the Sacrifice. It was a unique perspective and gave me some food for thought. Also, it wasn't very long, which means I didn't get a chance to become aggravated or bored with the old speech. I'm pretty sure that helped my opinion.
