Maya When Nate Carlson swooped back into my small town, he brought a tidal wave of memories from our passionate night together after our high school reunion. But I've been keeping a secret that could upend both our lives - we have a son.
Nate I never thought I'd see her again, but there she was - even more stunning and captivating than I remembered. I'm a billionaire tech mogul used to making high-stakes decisions, but nothing could have prepared me for the bombshell of discovering Maya had my child and kept him hidden. Can we overcome the hurt and rebuild the trust to create a future as a family?
The Tech Billionaire's Secret Baby is a standalone second chance, secret baby romance featuring a strong single mom and the alpha billionaire who never forgot her. This steamy BWWM love story will tug at your heartstrings and leave you believing in the power of forgiveness and happily ever afters.
Reading this book was a whiplash experience. It was all over the place. I found the very difficult to read, and it actually took me a couple of days to get through it because I kept out of falling asleep or reread certain passages. It moves very slowly for such a short book. Also, it is very repetitive. The main character, Maya, kept going back and forth with her trust and love for Nate. How one minute she loved him or maybe she didn't trust, them how one minute she loved him, and she didn't trust him, it's just too much.
The fish out of water thing being from a small town I get it but to make him feel guilty because he wanted more in life outside of such a small town got old as well.
Lastly, I get tired of books that conflate the relationship between the child and the man/ father between the love and the relationship of the woman and the man. There should never* be any question if a man should have access to his child. Just because the relationship may not have worked out with him and the woman / mother, a child should never be denied its father.
* obviously assuming there are no issues of abuse, neglect, Etc.
I was on the fence with this one. it was romantic, high school crush returns to town super rich sees struggling bakery owner and the reconnect sort of. I get that Maya was on edge because she was afraid that if Nate found out that he had a son, he would be mad and take him from her. and even after she told him, he still approached her with the idea of being a family. he wanted her and their son. she was so skeptical of him that he should have been skeptical of her. after 6 years, surprise you're a daddy, but he took her at her word. at her instance, he set up child support and visitation even though he wanted more than being an on paper daddy. I think I would have enjoyed it more if I wasn't constantly reminded that he left her after their one night stand. she could have reached out and told him about the baby 5 or 6 years ago, but chose not to. so he should have been angrier at her, but instead, he embraced her. it had a Cinderella like vibe, but it just got old with her second guessing everything he did. he tried making amends, but it was like she wanted him to fail. she was waiting for him to fail. happy it turned out.
Wow, did this take me back, I got pregnant but it was my senior yr. The guy I was crushing I was scared to tell and my parents by the time I was 3 months going on 4. Trust me I hid my pregnancy very well, but I needed to be seen by a doctor & i needed to know my baby was alright. Maya & Nate found each other again, I don’t blame Maya for being scared he might would run off again. My baby daddy didn’t run off he just said it wasn’t his son. My son, his dad, and his dad, dad if they stood next to each other you could each one features in the other they look like each one was spit out by the other. 3 or 4 years before my son graduated they were still denying that he was related to them. Handsome young man with a beautiful wife and 2 children, him and his wife are doing very well for themselves. That’s what this story made me remember, great read.
I'm a sucker for a second chance romance. The synopsis for this book captured my attention, but it was some of the reviews that had me buying and checking this book out. And I'm glad that I did because it was really a good read. It's much better than I expected.
Nate returning to his hometown 6 years after their one night stand through Maya for a loop. Especially since Nate had no idea he was the father of little Omari. But once the truth came out, Nate was bound and determined to make things right with Maya and his son.
Maya got on my left nerve a bit in this book. She kept trying to find reasons why she shouldn't trust Nate. As many times as he apologized and swore he was all in, she still questioned his commitment. Even her friend Shanice told her to chill and give Nate the benefit of the doubt. Once Maya got out of her own way, their relationship soared to new heights and led to a beautiful HEA.
WOW! This story will easily bring romance and women movement to mind. It's a powerful combination of passion, excitement and its full of protests. I really enjoyed these characters they are so amazing. When you add in the drama along with tons of emotions plus some intriguing twists and turns then you have a story that's full of feelings and chemistry, I really enjoyed how their relationship is loaded with chemistry and that it works out so well. The story is awesome and it's incredible how the start will bring a heated glance to your eyes. This story is truly delightful and I Highly Recommend it plus I'm adding it to my TBR list again and I'm excited to read the next book from this author.
Maya’s character got on my nerves, she was hot and cold with her insecurities. I understand that she was burned by him before and she went there a lot, therefore being cautious is a no brainer, but she was so paranoid and everything she had to go to Shanice and what Shanice advised, she did … Nate, what you did was really wrong and good thing you were handed a second chance, and you finally came to your senses. BTW. did Nate took Marcus advice? I know the seed of doubt planted by Marcus was nagging him?! Omari is such a great kid 🥰
The story had the potential to be very good, but I feel like the author failed at planning and development. little small errors like the difference in 5 to 6 years or even when there was a problem at the bakery and the mixer went down, but also there was water damage but the only thing they fixed was the mixer and the water damage was never mentioned again. There are other small little errors throughout the book. I decided to power through and finish it, but I wouldn’t reread this again.
Can I say Maya got in my nerves so much throughout the book with all of the doubt and negativity about Nate and his intentions. I don’t understand how she was feeling the way that she was, it was a one night stand and they were never in a relationship at all. To me her feelings weren’t valid. The only thing he was wrong about was leaving without a good bye after the one night stand. That was rude.
Besides being a short novel. It had no real hurdle to get over. Unless doubt and trust issues are the hurdle. There wasn’t a psycho ex, nothing that this story had to cement a thrill in getting together. FL was just a wishy-washy scaredy cat that is stubborn like a mule. She couldn’t come up with any solutions. Her best friend did. I didn’t really feel the love btwn the couple. The book felt like the start of a story not a whole story. Otherwise, the writing itself was good. I do invest a lot in BWWM relationships and I do appreciate the author making it happen.
Why are there some women that can’t understand their man needing to do the work that made them the billionaire. Especially since they feel their work is important and causes inflexibility. Maya showed too much of that mindset. Other than that it was great.
Secrets, reservations, determination , promises to keep, walls being broken are just some of the things found in this story! A past that needed forgiveness, racism to hurdle over and mending of hearts. All these things were woven together beautifully in this story which led to a happy ever after!!!💚🦋
Really liked the first chapters, but then the story became like all the other one night hot sex, he leaves town without a word, she pregnant, he doesn't know, he comes back in town years later they rekindled she still hasn't told him he's a father. Rinse and repeat.
80 percent of the book she was second guessing if she should give him a chance. It made the book boring. It took me days of putting it down and picking it back up hoping it would get past that one insecurity. Usually a book this short I can read in a day but the character portrayal was killing me. Maybe I’ll try another one from this author…. Maybe
I believe it really could’ve been a great book. It started off great, but this chick was so insecure. It was mentioned in just about each chapter too much finally about the last chapter. She realized that he loved her come on, really?
Beautiful love story. I enjoyed the reading of this book. I love how he did not turn a blind eye when he felt that others were being disrespectful and racist towards his wife and son.
