Darkest Deception

Rate this book
Emerald green eyes and ink black hair.
He’s become the very thing that I am.
A tormentor. My nightmare personified. My very own hell on earth.
He took from me until there was nothing left, he took what was rightfully mine and yet in this world of deception, in this world where the villains take reign, there is no right or wrong. There is no peace or justice.
No matter if I see myself change, the very man with serpent eyes and the scar running down his eye that are brimming with hate for me, is set on bringing me to my knees to pay for what I had done.
We both hide secrets, we both fight back but can we really move past this deception we put in front of us and see that something more powerful is on the rise between us?
That the most unlikely two people to deserve love have been given a chance?

*This is NOT dark romance. It's the perfect mix of soft and dark romance.

this is a serious case of lust > hate. I love this book so much, i knew i'd love it because misunderstood & broken characters literally always serve. the amount of angst, push & pull and lil groveling that this book has, i'm so down for it!

⌞ Ambrose Torre & Helia Nashwood ⌝
30 - 35

My father is the worst person I know, and I'm his favorite daughter.

I remember this line from a video, and it seems so fitting for her character. Gosh i loved her and felt bad for her. She suffered a lot, just like Aurora. I'm happy they both bonded, and she asked for forgiveness from her and everyone. 🥹

I loved Ambrose's character development and redemption arc. She did try to protect Aurora but kind of failed. and Helia's feelings for Ambrose stem from his deep-rooted hate for the people who hurt others who are weaker than them, thus making his character a lil loose with his morals. he's portrayed as an emotionless psychopath in the duet, but he really wasn't either. he's just deeply hurt and doesn't give shit about right or wrong now.

❝ I fucking hate how much I want you! ❞
❝ Same here! ❞ I shout.

their relationship was so toxic yet so good. considering that this book was short, it has a little slow burn. there was a lot of tension and if it was a little longer, it would've been oh so delicious 😭 the whole stalker situation kind of felt forced but made sense (like it feels a little thrown in there since it didn't provide much to the plot or their relationship). so when she found out, she got mad & ignored him because the whole situation was scary rather than intriguing.

❝ Would you at least look at me? I can’t bear to not have your eyes on me. ❞

aaahhhh but the groveling was really good! again, the length was short so there's not much but those scenes were just me n who type 😭 he literally begged her but she still didn't forgive him. sent her gifts worth millions and she was like NAH! hsjshs the best scene was the one where he choked her mom IN A SHOP FULL OF EMPLOYEES because she slapped her.

standard? 📈

and when he was just about to choke the life out of her, Ambrose acted as if she was hurt and he IMMEDIATELY threw her mom to check up on Ambrose 🥹 (sorry this was really unhinged hahahaha but the mom is a bitch guys). he also said 'my emerald is really sad these days' and tried fo cheer her up ✨

they didn't become lovers instantly, but rather, there was a lot of denial. she was also treated a lil (lil being the keyword) in the start, with all those boring tasks. he choked her or threatened her but as i said lust > hate. Helia started showing his care through actions and those small things were really thoughful and cute. he was also so observant of her!

❝ I love you, Helia. ❞
❝ I love you too, baby. I love you. I love you. I love you. ❞

I'm so down bad seriously. he's like super obsessed and he killed her tormentors and also other people who her mother was considering for her. not him giving her 'so called' space and not discussing her 'so called' engagement 😂

my favorite scenes were when he became so clingy when she wasn't looking at him or when she faked getting hurt, and he got all flustered, him noticing each and every detail about her, finding emeralds on her body as daily mission 😭 Pushing her hair behind her ear and touching her tenderly—love, love, love!!!

update: i thought the next would be about Talia or Kamari, but Venezia was a surprise. from FD – my babies have a baby boy hajshsja. he's blonde like the mother and has emerald eyes like the father osmshjs 🥹

on my, what a wild ride! I haven't read an enemies-to-lovers romance in a while where the protagonists' animosity towards each other was as palpable as it was in this book. i loved how the author weaved together a narrative that was full of tension, hate, and obsession. every chapter had me on the edge of my seat, wondering when these two characters would finally give in to their feelings.

”the death of a monster should always be celebrated.

In a cutthroat corporate world dominated by men, Ambrose had long been overlooked and underestimated. but she had never forgotten the injustice of it all, especially when Helia, a ruthless businessman, swooped in and stole her family's legacy, leaving her to pick up the pieces as his loyal assistant. feeling betrayed and powerless, Ambrose vowed to reclaim what was rightfully hers. with a fierce determination burning within her, she set out to outmaneuver Helia and take back control of her family's company. but as she navigates the treacherous landscape of corporate politics, Ambrose must confront the dark secrets and lies that have haunted her past and threaten to destroy everything she holds dear. will she emerge victorious and prove that even in a man's world, a woman can be the one who calls the shots?

”It hurts to even take a breath. It hurts to live. It hurts to want to be loved. It hurts. It hurts.”

I wasn't expecting Ambrose to undergo a redemption arc before diving into the book, and it was a delightful surprise to witness her journey as she tried to repair the damage she had caused in the past. I loved seeing her vulnerable side, stripped of the persona she presented to the outside world. the previous chapters and time jumps were emotionally charged and intense, but they helped me develop a deep understanding of the heroine. I truly appreciated this aspect of the story.

”Ambrose is mine. Mine to obsess over.”

Helia, on the other hand, was not a likable character, but that was intentional, as it added depth and authenticity to the enemies-to-lovers arc. his harsh, mean, and borderline psychotic behavior made for a compelling contrast to the rest of the story. although this book isn't typically classified as a dark romance, it does explore some darker themes. however, Helia's all-consuming obsession with Ambrose was one of the most captivating aspects of the plot. I loved watching him struggle to comprehend his own emotions, grappling with conflicting feelings while trying – and failing – to hate her. this inner turmoil made his character feel all the more real and lovable.

”because I’m addicted. To him. To his eyes. To his hold. To everything that reminds me of him.”

the way the author expertly paced the story, slowly ratcheting up the tension and conflict between the protagonists was exquisitely done. I loved how their hatred for each other was so raw and visceral, making it all the more satisfying when they finally started to crack and let their emotions get the better of them.

”It’s you and me, Helia.”

If you're a fan of slow-burn romances with a healthy dose of angst and drama, then this book is definitely for you.

many thanks to Love Notes PR and the author for providing an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

This was SO freaking good & had me in a chokehold & going feral from start to finish… I was giggling like a mad woman, blushing badly, & kicking my feet wildly. There was grovelling, humour, spice, darker themes, morally grey & complex characters, plot twists, & great character & relationship development. I didn’t want to put this book down so I ended up practically inhaling it🫣one of my fave books this year💚

Ambrose was badass, bratty, feisty, strong, fierce, & knew how to stand her ground. She is seen as the villain but what people dk is that she constantly put herself in harms way to protect the ones she loves. She’s a deeply complex character who’s fighting her own demons👏🏼Helia is dangerous, ruthless, morally grey, cold, cunning, & unhinged, but throughout the book you get to see a totally different side to him; the side that’s completely & utterly whipped & down bad for Ambrose, & lord, did it have me going feral🫡😩🛐 he becomes SO protective, sweet, charming, devoted, loyal, possessive & vulnerable.

Ambrose & Helia are the epitome of enemies to lovers!! They started off attempting to kill one another several times, to killing FOR each other😮‍💨 The tension, chemistry, & push & pull were insane! They were electric together & you could FEEL their deep & fierce love & devotion for one another. They developed such a beautiful relationship by the end💚 I LOVED them.

Eeeehm! I’m sorry! But what the hell was this?

I feel like the only good thing about this story was the MMCs crow…

It says that this story is a standalone, but no, it’s not: you can’t call it a standalone cause you won’t understand shit if you haven’t read the previous books!

I did read the book that was released before this one, and I barely remember it. So I didn’t understand what was going on.

I was so confused by the FMC. Everyone hated her. Including her sister and her husband. The husband was murderous and wanted to end the FMC.

Then there’s the MMC. What is his problem? He wasn’t born with a silver spoon in his mouth, so he is hating on all the rich people. Including the FMC. His hatred towards her is never really explained. Other than the fact that the FMCs sister was kidnapped at some point (?) and the blame was put on the FMC even if it turned out that the FMCs father was the actual culprit!

The MMC and the FMCs BIL are two extremely powerful and connected people. And they couldn’t figure it out that the father was behind the kidnapping? Even after they found out, they kept treating the FMC like shit! The MMC is supposed to be some kind of a hacker-genius…

So the MMC technically has no reasons to hate on the FMC. Since he doesn’t know her!

For some reasons the company that the FMC was supported to inherit was given to the MMC instead. Why? No clue. Other than it is mentioned that the FMCs father signed it over to the MMC. But why? It is never explained.

I don’t understand why everyone is acting like the FMCs sister is the biggest victim of them both, when the FMC literally made sure that she took the abuse from her parents and her bully’s at school so that the sister wouldn’t be a target. Why is that never throughly discussed? Why did the FMC and her sister never really have a talk, so she could explain everything to everyone?

Why was the FMC always portrayed as a bad person?

She supposedly fired people from her company even if they didn’t deserve it, was that the reason why she was such a bad person?

I don’t understand anything.

And then out of nowhere, the MMC was in love with the FMC? Like WTF!

And let me not get started on the stalking shit? What was the purpose of that?

I have a billion question and I’m tired! I feel like I wasted my time reading this book…

Gonna give this a 2/5 ⭐️

It could have been something good if everything was just explained…

Helia Nashwood, the man that you are.
Ambrose Torre, the woman that you are.

Helia and Ambrose’s story starts when Helia takes control of the company Ambrose was supposed to inherit, sparking intense hatred from her side. As for him? He wanted to torment her, maybe even kill her, but he couldn’t deny his growing attraction to her.

Honestly, I loved Helia’s character—he was goofy, unhinged, and a total “golden retriever” type. He was playful and carefree with everyone, but with HER? He turned into a different person. He never missed an opportunity to annoy her, especially when it came to invading her personal space (which was hilarious, to be honest).
“𝐓𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐝 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐞,”
“𝐍𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐢𝐭.”

But beneath the goofy exterior, Helia was battling his own demons, carrying darkness he kept buried deep inside. On the other side, Ambrose had a reputation as the villain—someone who ruined lives. But that was only the version of her the world knew. Nobody understood the real Ambrose: the woman who hated herself more each day, pushing everyone away, including her sister, just to protect her.

I have a soft spot for misunderstood characters, and Ambrose was so relatable. Despite everything falling apart around her—losing her company and feeling low—she never lost her confidence. She didn’t bow down to anyone, especially not Helia. As part of her plan to reclaim her company, she accepts a job as his assistant. Their daily banter, heated arguments, and the growing tension between them were so vividly portrayed, it felt like it was happening in real time.

I also loved how observant they both were. Ambrose noticed every little detail about him—his movements, his behavior, even his clothes. And Helia couldn’t help but notice her outfits, particularly the emerald accessories she wore, which just so happened to be his favorite color. That drove him crazy, but she didn’t care.

There was also another layer to their dynamic—Ambrose had a stalker, and it was none other than Helia. He’d visit her at night but disappear the moment she tried to confront him.

But later, time things started changing, they got involved together.

I loved this book. Helia is truly a standard.
1. Him distracting her with a kiss during a panic attack in an elevator? Check.
2. Him deleting away anyone who were about to be engaged to her? Check.
3. Him ruthlessly dealing with anyone who hurt her, especially the Madden sisters who made her feel bad and hurt her body ? Check.
4. Him threatening her mother with his throat around her neck and throwing her into a wall in front of everyone after she slapped Ambrose? Check. (that woman was bad, tho)
And so much more.

But beyond the intense moments, Helia was also incredibly clingy, obsessed, goofy, and swoony. He had a bit of abandonment issues (which made him even more lovable). There’s so much more I could say, but I don’t want to spoil it all. he's such a carefree guy like he didn't even care when he went to jail lol (yeah i know it was just for show). the way he felt protective towards her>>>

all i wanna say is they had this 'she feels undeserving of love, and he loves her like breathing' dynamic.
the angry love confession, ughhh

Also, I loved how Ambrose mended her relationship with Aurora. She acknowledged her mistakes, started to embrace the people who loved her, and accepted the environment around her.

This book was amazing. I could rant about it for hours. These two were absolutely made for each other. i'm in love with this series.

Enemies to lovers with St@lker romance ?
HELL YEAHHHHHH!!!!

I came across Akwaah's books last year and the first book I read was Tangle of obsession and I absolutely loved her writing. This is my 4th book by this author and I think this is my 2nd top fav book by her (First being Tangle of obession)

This book is a part of Deception series and we came across the main characters of this book in the previous ones. I knew there was more to Ambrose when I read about her in Sweetest Deception and I really like reading about morally grey women so I was so happy to know that the next book was about her.
And I also have a thing for Fictional psychopaths who would do anything for their women. And Helia was just the perfect man for Ambrose. The way they were a perfect match for each other and Helia was there for her when she needed someone.

The "I hate you but I can't stop thinking about you" trope in this book was perfectly written, it wasn't a dark romance like the ones I usually ready but it was definitely hot and steamyyyyy.
Now I'm really excited to read the last book in the series cuz I did not expect the epilogue to go that way and I was so confused about the MMC of the next book.

Special mention - Stuck in the Elevator together scene

Tropes -
Enemies to lovers
Slow burn
Boy obsessed
St@lker romance
Banter
workplace romance

ANGRY LOVE CONFESSIONS ❗️ you guys have absolutely no idea how much I love those. Everything that has to do with desperate, frustrated love confessions!!
If there’s one thing I always eat up, it’s the denial of feelings. The drama the juicy delicious drama 😫

𝗔 𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗼𝘁:
After the loss of her father, Ambrose finally gets to take what is rightfully hers. Her father’s company. One day when she confidently walks into her office, there he sits. The man with emerald eyes. Those eyes which are filled with pure hatred. Ambrose and Helia both hide secrets but can they move past this deception?

If you’re a big sister who carries the weight of responsibility, you’ll love Ambrose 💚
Not only is this book about a selfless big sister who seeks redemption but also about such an incredible couple who won’t admit their love!

The tension, the denial, the anger, the secrets.. the heartbreaking past, the two sisters.. oh lord my heart.

I myself am a big sister and reading about Ambrose’s past and the way she pushed her sister away to protect her.. it hurt me on a personal level 💔

Also the MMC Helia.. I didn’t have a crush or anything but I freaking love this man so much 😂 I wanna be his bestie so bad. (I’m not saying this because I’m Remo biased 😈) but nonetheless Helia & Ambrose TOGETHER?!? WHEW 😮‍💨

Overall this book didn’t disappoint. The Deception series is just getting better and better. The fourth book is coming this winter and I have to admit, judging by the tropes and the whole vibe, I feel like it will be my favourite book in the series!!

I HIGHLY recommend that you read the books in order because although they can be read as stand alones, you wont get the full emotional experience 🙇🏻‍♀️ trust me when I tell you this!

I couldn't find any words to describe this wonderful book.. Everything here is so beautiful..

Helia is the dream man and the perfect man despite everything he does in his life.

I literally loved everything about Helia.

Ambrose..
there are no words to describe her
A strong, beautiful woman who gets what she wants.
What she did for her sister was a true sacrifice.

I love her so much and she will always be the best woman I have ever read about in a book.

ARC REVIEW
My rating :
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

First of all I’m so freaking glad that I got the arc cause I have been dying to read this book😭
Where do I even start from?
Tbh I was not sure if I was gonna like Ambrose or not. Cause as we all know she was not a very likeable character in other two books. But her character development?? It left me completely speechless!I loved how she tried her best to fix her mistakes. Everything that happened to her in her past was so heartbreaking. But damnn the way she handled all of those things like a tigress? The way she never backed down. I admire her sfm!

Helia Nashwood. The man he is! He is the perfect unhinged man I need.I’m literally on my knees for him🧎‍♀️My heart hurts for him sm. My man is so freaking strong. And all the things he did for Ambrose even tho he hated her guts??😭 I seriously need someone like him. The way he never gave up on Ambrose. I just love him sm😔

The tension, the storyline, the hate, their banter, the groveling, the angst everything was freaking awesome.and the angry love confession???oh my goshhh! I’m in absolutely love with Helia and Ambrose 🤌🏻

I love lovee lovee Aurora and Remo’s cameo. Those two has my entire freaking heart! And they has a baby now?? My heart 🥺

I would absolutely recommend this book. Can’t wait for the next book. And I really hope it’s on Kamari and Ruel 😭😭

Darkest Deception by Akwaah K
Rating: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Spice Rating: 🌶️🌶️🌶️
If I could I would give it infinite stars✨. I was so excited to get my hands on this and it did not disappoint!! I finished the book and I can say that it was not enough. It will never be enough!! I need more of AMBROSE AND HELIA!!! I need more of their bantering and shouting matches. At the end of the book, I felt sadness creeping into my mind at the thought that the book is finally over. I had high expectations for this book and it exceeded all of them.
Ambrose didn't feel like a fictional character but rather like myself. I could feel her thoughts and understand her feelings. I relate with Ambrose on a spiritual level. As I was reading, I kept merging with her as if I am the one going through the motions. She was strong and fierce with a beautiful heart. She's protective of the ones she loves and is warrior who keeps fighting no matter what curve balls the life throws at her. Like everyone, she simply yearns to be loved, and it's disheartening that some must fight so hard for that. I have heard the same things about my personality from others and all the things she feels too real to me.
I have been intrigued and obsessed with Helia ever since his appearance in the first book. Helia was unhinged and psychotic. I was already fawning over him before reading the book but after hearing his story and knowing his life, my heart bleeds for him. He was obsessed and protective of Ambrose. His love and devotion toward Ambrose. He killed for her!! He tried to match outfits with her!!!! My man was whipped for her. His stalkerish tendencies were the added bonus to the story.
The workplace romance vibes and the sexual tension throughout was amazing . With all the angst and slow burn, the smut scenes felt like rewards. The twists, secrets, and tension in the plot kept me totally hooked and on edge.
Ambrose finally got a chance to mend her relationship with Aurora and to have friends and family who makes her feel cherished. My girl deserves it and more. The little glimpses of Remo and Aurora were some of the best bits. And my favourite character? It's Blaze. He’s the best.
Helia was the dream guy and if anyone should have been given one it would have to be Ambrose. It was a delicious enemies-to-lovers story that absolutely hit the spot for me. I'm a fan of stalker romances, and this one was absolutely perfect. It delivered all the tropes perfectly. And the groveling in this book just melted my heart.
The entire book played out like a movie in my head. I started the book and then it was over in an instant. I devoured it in one sitting. I couldn't move from my seat as the story took place. I just had to find out what happens next and how it all pans out. The epilogue had me in tears wanting more. I wanted the book to go on forever. I will still be bothering the author for bonus scenes all the same though. This story is close to my heart and will always be there.
For those of you searching for your next favorite book, Darkest Deception is a must-read.
I'm incredibly grateful to Akwaah and Love Notes PR for granting me the opportunity to be an ARC reader for this book!

PS: And I am seriously contemplating witchcraft just so I could get a Helia of myself. He's so dreamy!!

Thank you so much Akwaah and Love Notes PR for allowing me to be an ARC reader for this books!

I am very glad that I read the first two books in this series, because I couldn’t be more proud of Akwaah! Her writing style in Darkest Deception reflects that she has written two prior novels, received and implemented feedback, and she has achieved a polish and ease in her prose that is so lovely to see. Her characters and their development over the course of the book has also improved; I really loved the chapters that were flashbacks of Helia at age 10 and 21, as well as Ambrose in her last year of boarding school and why she pushed Aurora away. These chapters added depth and clarity to their respective personalities and made them more likable and relatable.
I also liked that there was more establishment of place and a better sense of London being the setting for the series with the inclusion of the party at the top of the Shard. That’s a familiar landmark that anyone who knows anything about London will be able to place exactly where they are and how opulent of a lifestyle the characters are living.
I also like how Ambrose and Helia begin their relationship from such a rock bottom place and we see them grow together as they begin to move past open hostility and learn to be more open and empathetic with each other.
This series contains a HIGH level of spice, and should be read by an 18+ audience. If you are not a fan of spice, you might want to skip this series.
In addition, this series does come with a long list of trigger warnings. Although I found these books to be enjoyable, very spicy and interesting, nuanced characters whose life experiences are so different from the life I live, they may not be for you. I am so grateful that more authors are including lists of trigger warnings at the beginning of their books. For example, some of the triggers included in this series includes, but is not limited to: descriptive scenes of stalking, physical, emotional and verbal abuse, mentions of suicidal thoughts, use of guns, blood, fore, black mail, domestic violence, light dub non con, bullying, assault, violence, death and profanity. To quote Akwaah, “Your mental health matters so if any of these triggers may affect you, please skip this book.”
I know Akwaah also states at the beginning that these books are not intended to fall in the dark romance genre, but to me the combination of the level of spice as well the lengthy list of trigger warnings might be enough to steer you away from these books. Proceed with caution, and you might just find yourself having a very sexy, rollicking good time.

✨ I received this book as an ARC for my honest review✨

Rate: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

OMG! OMG! OMG! Darkest Deception is my first read by Akwaah K., it will not be my last! From beginning to end, this had me in a chokehold, and I am not going to complain about it one bit! Not only did this book make me blush and laugh, but it also had me in tears and angry at times. It was everything I expected and so much more. It had dark themes, complex characters, witty banter with a perfect amount of spice, groveling, and mystery. And let's not forget about Blaze, who stole the show at times.

While I did not read the previous books in this series, I would honestly recommend doing so if you want to get a better understanding of the story and characters. This book really did open my eyes and proved that no two stories are the same, it showed that while you may be a villain in someone's story, that does not mean you are in yours.

Ambrose is a total badass with a bleeding heart! While Ambrose is perceived as being bratty and spoiled, she is also a very strong and fierce complex character dealing with her own demons. Despite being perceived as the villain, Ambrose constantly puts herself in harm's way to protect her loved ones, and that is seen throughout this story. I loved Ambrose's protective nature and her growth in accepting herself and finding who she is.

Helia, on the other hand, is seen as dangerous, cold, and morally grey, not to mention unhinged. But we love that for him. However, as the story unfolds, we witness a completely different side of him—the side that's head-over-heels obsessed, whipped, protective, and utterly devoted to Ambrose. It had me losing it! And the gifts Helia would buy for Ambrose were their favorite color 💚💚

I would say this is one of my favorite enemies to lovers read so far this year. Ambrose and Helia were made for one another. While it seemed like they were going to kill one another, the tension between them proved otherwise. When that tension finally snapped I was here for it!!! Helia would burn the world for her, and I love that in a man!

ARC review 💗

i went into this book never having read a stalker romance before, and it was definitely a new experience. although i can’t say i didn’t enjoy some aspects of it, it might not be for me completely. however, the workplace romance, touch-her-and-die, morally grey mmc tropes 100% tick my boxes.

first off, let’s give a moment of silence for the name ‘helia’. it took me a couple chapters to separate this sexy, broody, tall, tattooed, murderous man from the helia from winx club (flora’s bf) but i love his name. everything about him screamed morally gray and it was nice seeing him grow as a character while his affection for ambrose increased.

secondly, ambrose? another beautiful name. (had trouble not imagining a certain redhead from the twisted series but oh well). i liked her fiery attitude and determination - that was very admirable, as well as her protective personality to those she loves.

plot wise, i really liked the idea of the book, and even though it was executed in a different way to what i originally imagined, and in no way is that bad, i still enjoyed reading (the tension was so so palpable). i just feel like some of the dialogue came off a little cheesy and that the descriptions were a bit repetitive, but that was the smaller things in the greater scheme of the book.

i definitely do think anyone who enjoys dark/stalker romances will love this book. i do enjoy dark romances but hadn’t tried out the stalking trope until this book. while ive established that this wouldn’t be the first trope i gravitate towards, i can’t deny i enjoyed reading, and i’m still so thankful for recieving and getting to read an early copy!

tropes:
➛ rivals to lovers
➛ forced proximity
➛ stalker
➛ brat fmc
➛ workplace
➛ betrayal

Rating: 5 stars 😎💚

Wow! Just wow! This book was a real definition of dark romance and it was absolutely brilliant. Helia is a real Dark MMC with psychopathic tendencies who loves Ambrose even harder 😌😫 Quite frankly I want my own Helia because this man made me fall in love with him since page 1 💚

Thank you so much Akwaah and Lovenotes PR for the ARC oppurtunity, I really appreciate it so so much 💚

Ambrose is a beautiful, intelligent, billionaire and brave woman who's doing her best to right her wrongs of the past. She's worked hard for years to become the CEO of the magazine she's worked at for her father for years, but suddenly everything is ripped right out from under her feet when Helia Nashwood shows up and claims to be the CEO and main shareholder. Unbeknownst to her, he's also her stalker who's terrorised her for months 😎😏🤭🔥 Not to mention how he terrorizes her at work too. He hires her as his assistant to keep an eye on her and try to uproot her life 😫🤧

Helia and Ambrose definitely kept me on my toes as they did each other. I found myself gobbling this book in a day because it was absolute perfection Akwaah😫🔥 Helia and Ambrose were absolute fire on fire and the perfect match. They love each other unconditionally and with their everything. I love them so much. Will definitely be making them a part of my frequent reread list 💚 The way he will end anyone who hurts his woman 😫🔥💚

This book does have previous characters and storylines intertwined so be sure to read the previous 2 books in this series 💚😌 Aurora and Remo, I'm so glad we got to see glimpses of their Happily Ever After 😭❤

If you haven't picked this book up yet, you need to do so asap because you're really missing out 😭💚😌

★★★★☆

You guys, you don't want to miss this release!! Alwaah has outdone herself again. Helia and Ambrose had me on a chokehold. Their banter had me cracking up. The slowburn is good, too! Helia is such an a-hole, and Ambrose is a brat. But, God, you'll fall in love with them.

Ambrose has been undermined by Helia. He's taken over Glamorous, her father's company. Her right as the eldest daughter. Helia does fire her and tells her she'd be back begging for a job. And she kinda does. He hires her as his secretary, and she makes it her mission to figure out how to get her company back. Despite their hate foreach other and him threatening to fire her every 5 minutes, Ambrose pushes back because she's still the (minority) owner of Glamorous.

Ambrose has a scarred past and is trying to make up for her past mistakes. We also see her trying to build up her relationship with her sister, Aurora.

Tropes :-
Stalker romance
Enemies to lovers
Forced proximity
Angry love confessions
Touch her & you die

Since I devoured "Sweetest Deception" last December, I've been utterly captivated by Helia due to his wild and unpredictable nature. Can you blame me? That kind of intensity is exactly my type.
I was deeply moved to tears by Ambrose; initially, in Remo and Aurora's story, I despised her character. However, as I delved deeper and discovered her complexities, she became my absolute favorite.

Ambrose, with her complex trauma and vulnerable side, had reasons for the way she treated Aurora. Despite everything, she was truly a gentle soul deep down. She was such a beautiful and resilient person, and I loved her just as much as her sister. The immense burdens she carried were astonishing, and I’m so glad she finally found her happily ever after.

Ambrose and Helia perfectly embody the enemies-to-lovers trope! They started off with intense animosity, attempting to kill each other multiple times, only to end up fiercely protecting and killing for each other. The palpable tension, sizzling chemistry, and dramatic push-and-pull between them were absolutely electrifying!

The story had it all: groveling, humor, spice, darker themes, morally grey and complex characters, plot twists, and exceptional character and relationship development.

You know the famous Enemies to Lovers who go from I will kill you to I will kill everyone who hurts you, from I will ruin you to who did this to you, from I despise even the sight of you to I can't live without you..... If you enjoy any of them, this book is a must-read.

If you've read the first two volumes in this series, you'll know that Ambrose Torre sounds like your standard mean and selfish girl. But her story is far more than that. Yes, she did harm people and damaged many lives for her own profit, but the way she turns around and tries everything she can to right it, and is not ashamed to apologize for her actions, demonstrates the amount of guilt she feels and the amount of development her character has undergone. She's a total BOSS bitch. Also, the anguish she went through to protect Aurora and distance herself from the sister she loved the most is heartbreaking.

Hela Nashwood The man You are, the unhinged stalker, ruthless billionaire, obsessed lover, and bothersome friend to Remo and Aurora. He is initially on a mission to destroy Ambrose and seeks every opportunity to make her life unpleasant, so it is fascinating to watch his obsession transform into love. By the end, he's clearly a stalker who has become a SIMP. He was there for Ambrose when no one else was, loved her unconditionally, and accepted her just as she was. He avenged her and sought vengeance for her. He is the stereotypical "touch her and you die" dude.

Third book in the Deception series; but first of her books for me (ugh i know. Want to immediately dive into the others). I wasn’t sure what to expect going in but I LOVED THIS BOOK.
I’ve never slid into an authors DMs while reading their book until now…. @akwaah is just my first for a few things i guess 😉

I adored Ambrose from the beginning. It was hinted that she has a deep troubled past - I’m sure it’s touched on in the previous books- on the outside she’s this “rude, spoiled, privileged” heiress. And maybe she is, but she’s also so much more than that. That girl is strong af with her past, she’s fierce and feisty and i just loved her so much.

Helia was a charmer from the beginning. Even when he’s threatening lives. This man’s ego and silliness had me giggling and kicking my feet like no other. It’s like back in high school when your crush was super hot but also funny and witty? Yeah, just like that. And the sweet talking he did 😮‍💨😮‍💨😮‍💨 my gahhhh.

And who doesn’t love a “fuck it” moment. They get me every single time 🫠
I could go on and on but I’m sure you get the idea. Just read the dang book! Or series if you haven’t already.
