The hidden history of the druadan is emerging from the shadows…
During the attack at Meridian, a shocking truth was revealed: my sister leads a rebel group hellbent on stealing the last druadan egg. By sheer chance, I managed to save one, but as it begins to hatch, the three Master Riders—Heath, Logan, and Carter, with whom I've developed undeniable feelings—and I must surrender the egg to Circuit officials.

To keep the egg's survival a secret, Circuit shuts down Meridian, forcing us to relocate to Blackhawk Station. There, ancient secrets await, holding the key to understanding the rebels' desire for the druadan foal, my connection to it, and the bond I share with the three master riders and their stallions.

However, tensions escalate as Logan finally faces trial for his rogue stallion, and civil unrest engulfs Venovia, with strikes and violent protests pushing the country toward war. I must tread carefully. The long-buried truths I unearth at Blackhawk could prove the world's salvation—or the catalyst for utter ruin.

This is such a fun series. The main character seeks out a job at the same place her sister used to work to try and unravel the mystery of her disappearance. The world is an urban fantasy with some pretty cool dystopian and sci-fi elements. There’s magical horses that bond with their riders, giving them emotional connections and mind communication. While trying to find her missing sister, the main character gets caught up in some crazy drama like venomous creatures, lost horse eggs, and of course, three riders who can’t seem to stay away from her. These male main characters all have their own personalities and qualities that I loved so I’m glad this is a why choose series. These books are so fast-paced and the sequel is even better than the first book. The endings of both books had me on the edge of my seat and I can’t wait to see where this series goes next.

Before discovering Amelia Cole, I thought 'Why Choose' was not for me. The ones I read were more about spice than substance. So I was incredibly excited to discover (with the first book) that this series stands out because it offers so. much. more than that!

This is an impressive continuation of the series, balancing a well-paced slow-burn romance with character depth, world-building, and plenty of emotional stakes. It's not just about the relationships—it's about growth, both personal and collective, as well as a compelling plot. And it was nothing like I expected! This subversion of my personal expectations is one of Amelia Cole’s strengths — she always gives her characters space to develop beyond the obvious.

The dynamic between Brigid and Heath, Logan, and Carter is handled well. Rather than being reduced to flat archetypes, each of these characters has their own backstory, goals, and challenges. And each of them is given room to grow - and I am sure that will continue in the future. The way they gradually figure out their feelings and relationships with each other feels natural and earned, rather than rushed for the sake of spice. The slow burn is particularly satisfying because it allows the reader to become emotionally invested in not only the romance but the characters' personal growth. Listen, you could stay to read my effusive love of this book or you could just go read it. Your call.

The world-building in this series is another strength. The hidden history of the mystical horses is rich and tangled with mystery. I was fascinated as Brigid and co. uncovered more about her connection to the druadan foal and the we learned more about the rebels. The tension around Logan’s trial and the unrest sweeping Venovia adds another layer of complexity to the plot, grounding the story in both political and personal conflict. Just so well done.

What I ESPECIALLY loved about Soulbound is that the story didn’t rely on easy villains or throwaway conflicts. A character I initially thought would become a clear-cut antagonist surprised me by being given depth, even hinting at their own love story and interesting character arc.

While the spice is there, it doesn't overpower the story, which is perfect for readers like me who need character development, plot, and world-building alongside romance. The slow burn works incredibly well because these characters deserve time to figure themselves out, and Cole takes that time.

Overall, Soulbound is an excellent installment in a series that offers much more than the typical RH romance. It’s full of intrigue, slow-building tension, and flawed, amazing characters. I cannot wait to see where Cole takes the story next—this series has quickly become a favorite of mine. Highly recommended for fans who enjoy a balance of spice, slow-burn romance, and a plot that keeps you hooked! I am so incredibly excited after that ending!!

Thank you so much to R&R Booktours and the lovely author for the complimentary copy. This review is voluntary and all opinions are my own.

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶

First and foremost, this is a series i probably never would have discovered if not for rrbooktours. And I can honestly say, I am SO HAPPY I did!!! This is on ongoing series, and the first two books were absolutely amazing.

This is a why choose sci-fi dystopian western and there is rebellion, war, betrayal, some serious tension, slow-burn and mystery woven all throughout.

Brigid is a lovely character, and the things she goes through are honestly wild. From being betrayed by her sister, finding out about family she didn't know she had, and historical twists. And the connection she has with the guys ✨️🤌🏻🖤

Then we have the guys. All bonded riders and their bond is deep and even deeper when Brigid enters the picture.

Heath - the quiet, reserved one who is very structured based, follows all the rules, and is a natural leader.
Carter - the womanizer. The one who is famous for being a womanizer. And boy, does he know how to pleasure a woman.
Logan - the bad boy. The one who finds himself in real deep. The one who is a ticking time bomb of anger.

If you loved Fourth Wing and love why choose, this is a must-read series. Instead of dragons, it's beautiful mythical stallions.

Tropes:
✨️Grumpy/Sunshine
💙Why Choose/Reverse Harem
✨️Dangerous Mythical Horses
💙Age Gap
✨️Sci-Fi Dystopian Western
💙Spice
✨️Slow burn

Soulbound is book 2 of the Druadan Legacy Series. It did not disappoint! Book 1 ended on a cliffhanger and I immediately needed to find out what happened.

Again, the world that the author created is so unique, mysterious and intricately woven. It is set in the future in a dystopian United States.

The story continues with the four main characters Heath, Carter, Logan, and Brigid. There are a few more characters added in that we got to meet, to which unraveled a little more of the web the author created.

It goes more in depth with the bonds and Druadan history. Twists and turns all day long, baby!! It will keep you engaged for sure.

Oh & the spice….be spicing. 🥵

I was hooked right away with book 2 and didn't want to stop. I needed to keep reading!
It was filled with mystery, magic, feelings, spice, and much more!
We see relationships growing and changing. We learn some new things and still have questions that need answered.

I think this was a great continuation to the series and I can't wait for book 3!

The second installment in the Druadan Legacy series was another enjoyable read! This dystopian fantasy and why choose romance has a very interesting storyline and world building.

The Druadan portion of the story continues to be my favorite, with the romance taking a backseat for me. That being said, the spice definitely picked up a level in this book and we do have some on page scenes.

Following the tragedy at the Meridian compound, the Druadan and riders are transferred to Blackhawk. This brings us new characters, provides some intercharacter conflict as riders work out the new pecking order and provides a new landscape to this dystopian story. The political complexity is also grown in this installment with a deeper look into the Circuit's structure. The rebellion conflict grows and expands, forcing more attention to them.

Brigid spends this story getting more engrossed in the conflicting circuit/druadan history while growing her relationship with the riders. Heath struggles to accept his attraction to Brigid, Carter has fully embraced the bond so we see much less of him and Logan is still refusing to accept the bond while dealing with his own legal struggles.

Again, the unique storyline is what is carrying this book. There are several plot holes/mistakes again (example: a character is said to be an only child in one chapter then discusses having a younger brother in another). I hope they will do a re-release after being worked over by a good editor! I do plan to continue the story because I am REALLY captivated by the idea of it!

Thank you to Amelia Cole and BOMM for the ARC of Soulbound—I was so excited to dive into this world filled with ancient secrets, druadan eggs, and three Master Riders, Heath, Logan, and Carter. Their dynamic with Brigid was so fascinating, but the sudden scene jumps threw me off at times. 🌀 It left me feeling confused, as if something crucial was skipped.

Marshal, though, was an absolute delight! 🌟 He became not just Brigid’s idol but mine too. The way he carried himself with such grace and humility—never letting the pressures of fame affect him—was truly inspiring. He’s such a big brother figure to Brigid, and I adored every moment of his interactions with her. 🫶

The world-building had me intrigued from the very beginning. The hidden history of the druadan, Brigid’s rebellious sister, and the rescue of the last druadan egg were all compelling elements that hooked me. 🐉 As Brigid and the Master Riders journeyed to BlackHawk Station, I was eager to see where their relationships would go, especially with the tension between Brigid and the three Master Riders (hello, love square vibes 💖).

However, the writing felt a little incomplete at times.

I was hoping for more clarity and direction in the story, but instead, it felt like some important pieces were missing. Still, I couldn’t help but get excited about the deeper layers of the story—the ancient secrets waiting at BlackHawk Station and how they might hold the key to Brigid’s connection to the druadan and her bond with the three riders and their stallions. 🐴 Logan’s trial and the civil unrest in Venovia added even more tension, making the stakes feel real and high.

This book is perfect for fans of:
🐉 Magical Creatures
💕 Love Triangles (or squares!)
🏰 Hidden Secrets
⚔️ Civil Unrest
💘 Why Choose
💥 Tension & Conflict
💔 Forbidden Romance

Overall, Soulbound had its moments of brilliance, and I loved getting to know the characters. But the transitions and lack of clarity in certain scenes left me feeling a little disconnected from the story.

Thank you so much to @ameliacoleauthor & @rrbooktours for my gifted review copy of! 𝑺𝒐𝒖𝒍𝒃𝒐𝒖𝒏𝒅! This review is comprised entirely of my own thoughts & opinions, & is based on the copy I received.

I was so excited to read this book, especially after the ending in Book 1, Shadowbound! This book managed tonthe do the one thing that is really hard for a continuation to do: make me love the second book even more than the first! This book was SO GOOD!! The plot was plotting, the spice was spicing, and everything about it just worked so well together!

We follow our same four main characters with Brigid as our FMC! I loved the expansion of the world building and it was such a treat to be back in a dystopian setting! We also get introduced to some new characters and I feel like some of these new characters help to unravel a bit of the mysteries of the story. The mystery element to the story deepens in this book quite a bit and while a lot of my questions were answered, I have so many more new ones! Let’s just say I’m INVESTED in these books. I love how captivating this story is and how it kept me wanting to turn the pages trying to figure out the answers to all my questions.

The romance was amazing and filled with angst and tension and just kept me wanting more! I love a good why choose and this why choose is written so well. Heath, Carter, and Logan are all such different MMCs and l love how they each bring a different level of romantic tension to the plot. It definitely made me stay on my toes and kept things very interesting!

I think my favorite point of this book was getting to delve deeper into the Druadan legends and the bonds! This is such a unique part to the story and I love getting to find out more about the history and lore of these creatures.

Overall, this was EXCELLENT! These books are amazing and will emotionally grip you in the best way imaginable! I highly recommend them, especially if you’re looking for something that’s a little bit different and unique, but still has all the amazing elements of an amazing Romantasy! I mean, who doesn’t love dangerous mythical horses?! I cannot wait for the next book and will anxiously be waiting for it!

I'm so addicted to this series and thrilled to have the honor of reading this as an ARC.
I really loved Shadowbound and now Soulbound, the second installment in the series, has amped up the tension in a huge way. Amelia is masterfully juggling multiple fully-realized major threads throughout the story and none get left behind. We're never blindsighted by twists because all the bread crumbs lead up to each revelation while still leaving room for thrilling twists and turns. The characters are unique and well-formed with great voices. I felt like I was reading through an already well-known and beloved franchise the way the characters and settings were old friends to me as a reader. I especially loved that the author isn't afraid to write characters who make bad calls, have bad opinions and need to be shown that they're wrong. The payoff is so satisfying. The romance is heart-pounding and steamy with a special little magic thrown in that amps the swoon factor in a big way.
This book could have been twice as long and I still would have eaten up every word. The worldbuilding is clear in the author's mind, which makes it easy to follow when we're reminded that this post-apocalyptic setting is still present and humming in the background. There were so many interesting little worldbuilding nuggets that kept me fascinated even when there wasn't any kissing.
I'll be anxiously awaiting the next book while updating a big board with red thread trying to unravel what I think will happen next.

I absolutely LOVE this series so much. Soulbound is the second book in the Druadan Legacy series. I loved the first book and in this second installment we get to dig so much deeper...into everything. We learn more about the guys, more about the mystery, more about the egg!! and more about the history of the Druadans. Learning about the history of the Druadan bonds was so interesting. I was so happy to learn more and see it play out in present day as well.

I loved that each of the guys got more page time, and I was always so excited for the chapters from their point of view, and seeing each of them get more and more attached to Brigid made me smile bigger and bigger. I could not put Soulbound down. I love this series so much. It has the pieces of a classic dystopian, but it also feels so unique and fresh.

The romance is a why choose and we see it really ramp up in spice level compared to the first book. There was a bit of a smoldering slow burn, but we get some good spice in this book and I after this ending I can't wait to see what is going to happen in the next book. This is a must read series if you are a fan of why choose, fantasy or dystopian books. It is truly excellent!

Bridgid will do anything to fight for what she holds dear. But what she has come to realize is that the things she is holding on to just might be the wrong things to fight for.
Bridgid narrowly escaped the rebels and has not only saved herself but has saved the last Druadan egg. She will protect it with her life, but at what cost? Still reeling from the discovery of who her sister truly is, Bridgid clings to those that she trusts with her own life, the three Master Riders- Logan, Carter and Heath. With the last egg they all begin to realize that there is more going on in their world than they acknowledged, and will do anything to uncover the truth.

Cole cranks up the heat in the second installment of The Druadan Legacy, delivering a tantalizing why-choose romantasy that will perk up your desire for men who can ride a mystical stallion. The character development is spot on, with each character facing unique family struggles that shape their journeys. Watching them forge their own paths and build their chosen family is both captivating and moving. If you’re into romance, fantasy, and a bit of spice, this one will not disappoint!

“Soulbound” is the second book in the Druadan Legacy series, and one I had been looking forward to. The first book occasionally kept flitting through my head since this series has some original world building, and I was excited to find out what the second book would bring.

Somehow it feels like we get more questions then answers in this book, so I’ll be just as anxiously waiting for book three. That being said, there are some things I really love about this series. The dystopian world building, the connections between Druadan and their riders, the rebel movement and how Brigid is connected to it all, … All of it together creates an interesting storyline I truly enjoy reading.

The only thing that confuses me a little, is the relationship building. On the one hand, this author chooses an original solution for the ow trouble, on the other hand none of these men seem to truly make the decision to be with Brigid. I’m not even sure at times they still deserve her, so I really hope book three will have them going all in to make up for the mess they’ve been creating before.

Hi Book Besties!💕🌻
I am so excited to share my review with you guys for Soulbound 😍 By @ameliacoleauthor
A Giant thank you to @Bookofmatchesmedia for the gifted eARC! This is Book 2 in The Druadan Legacy Series. It does have some pretty dark themes so you should absolutely check out those trigger warnings before jumping in! Your mental health is always more important than a book.
These riders are soo stubborn so I'm so happy to finally see them all on the same page. So much happens in this book that it feels like it's setting us up for what comes next, I’m left feeling so excited and impatient for book 3! Of course Amelia threw another cliffhanger at the end of this one but I love a good cliffhanger so I'm not mad about it lmao. I’m in love with the foal and I can’t wait to get to know more of its personality.
I loved this book and I'm upset I finished it already! I want to know what happens next!!

4.5 rounded up! What a great follow up to book 1! There was so much tension at the end of the first book, I wasn’t sure how book 2 would measure up but it did not disappoint. The Why Choose/reverse harem bits just got even steamier and I love all the romantic twists and turns - especially with Cole (can I have a favorite??)! The cowboy/sci-fi world just keeps building and it is a really unique world that is really unlike any books that I’ve read. SPOILERS if you haven’t read book 1: I can’t believe Brigid has to fight against her sister, and is thrown into a moral dilemma of is she doing the right thing. I love all the support she gets from the magical mechanical horse riding cowboys at her side. This one is a great read and I recommend it.

Ahhhhh Amelia Cole did it again! Man, I thought the cliffhanger from the first book was evil, this one was a whole new level. When I got to it and the book was over, I was like why…..I need to know what is gonna happen. It is hard to talk of this book as this book does pick up with the ramifications from the first one, so if you haven't read it it would be full of spoilers. And believe me I want you to read them both! Heath, Carter and Logan the dream trio. I love we saw a bit more of Logan in this one, but man that guy is such a rollercoaster, I love it. I weirdly liked Jess more in this book too, I didn't think that would happen but learning more from her perspective, it gives you a new outlook on her. I highly recommend this series!

Logan is doing too much it's annoying as fuck.
after saying this: “Will never see you as more than a fun distraction. A way to pass the time and entertain until they flare out. It’s how all riders are.”

and

“We were better off before you,”

he was like “Where’s Blondie?” I ask. “She said she was going to be here.”. Jesus Logan I wonder why she was there for you... he's literally giving man child. I'm so sick of this trope where the fmc have to fix these misogynistic men, fix what's broken inside of them. Logan makes this insufferable, I can't enjoy it. I love the plot, but then his whiny ass comes and it's just awful. He never apologize either. I think the worst part is that the male leads will always support each other over the fmc. she truly deserves better

Wow - this is a ride. I definitely recommend reading book one, or you might feel a bit lost. This is a world of myth, intrigue, and characters made to break the mold. Everything was so well done, the world-building and imagery makes it feel like you’ve stepped through a portal right into it. I love how unique the characters are, and applaud Cole for stopping them from fitting into stereotypical pigeonholes. (Which can be difficult with reverse harem). While I don’t know how I’d handle actually being in their world physically, I’d love to spend a day or twenty with the whole group. If you’re looking for your next addicting read, I have to recommend this series!

First off, how are you! Oh my gosh. This book had me screaming. I never been so frustrated but so excited to continue reading a book. I wanted to fight Logan myself, but the steamy banter was so good! Also that one chapter where Brigid came to the decision for the better of the country? Yea I was screaming the whole time. WHY HEATH WHY! There was so much progress and the pace kept it coming. I think I finished the book in 2 days lol. This book also had a major cliffhanger and I’m on the edge of my seat for book 3, seriously I enjoyed this series so far!

This book was even better than the 1st! So much mystery/unanswered questions! Loving the plot line. It’s so unique and captivating.
The storyline seemed to flow better in this one. It kept my attention from beginning to end with minimal confusion. It was overall easier to follow. The writing and editing was much better.
We finally got some spice- it’s not overwhelming. I personally would enjoy more, but if the why choose aspect or spice intimidates you- don’t let it for this series. This story is definitely more plot with a big focus on the mystery aspect than a smut book.
I cannot wait for book 3! Cliffhanger!!

I enjoyed the first book but thought this one was even better. I enjoyed the progression of the story, the character development and the twists and turns the story took. I don’t want to leave any spoilers but needless to say I’ll be excited to read the next in the series to find out what is going to happen next for the characters!!!

This is book 2 in the Druadan Legacy series, and it did not disappoint! Book 1 Shadowbound ended with a cliffhanger, so getting right into Soulbound had to happen right away, and it hooked me right away.
If you love romantasy, distopian, and the Lipizzaner stallions, then this series is for you. I highly recommend you pick this series up

Amazing book but so many editing errors

I’m obsessed with the series and definitely think it’s one of my top favorites now but there are sooo many errors in the books. At one point there was two or three sentences completely repeating right after itself. If it was edited correctly I’d absolutely give it 5 stars.

I was so curious to see how Brigid's story would continue and this 2nd book certainly did not disappoint me.
There is so much happening, it is exciting, mysterious and full of intrigue.
New and interesting characters also appear in this book.
It was a joy to read.

I absolutely loved this story. The story flows great in a way that keeps you interested. The romance is believable and is just an all around great story of love and magic that you don't want to miss. Add in the suspense as tensions rise and you have a great book
