Praying on Offense is a resource for people who hunger for a more vibrant faith. The author has made the practice of prayer practical for everyday life, so that our relationship with God feels as natural as breathing, rather than a forced or awkward addition to our already crowded life. Experience freedom, empowered by the Holy Spirit, to go after God's desires while praying on offense for the people and spaces you encounter daily.
Jeff is someone I look up to as a leader of men. Praying on offense was a practical way to find time to pray for those who are around you each and every day. I love the 1,3,2 method.
Taking spiritual ownership of one space God has already placed you in.
Embracing a deep sense of calling to three people in that space.
Regularly engaging in the two sides of prayer. 1) God, what do you want me to know? 2) God, what do you want me to do?
Right at the time I was interested in finding a resource that would help my prayer life, I was introduced to this book. One of the surprising things is that it was written by a basketball coach rather than a pastor. Although I have never been an athlete, I have always enjoyed reading about various sports and sports figures. The author used examples from his own life as a coach to help convey the concepts of praying on offense. I will definitely be returning to this book to study the concepts more closely in the months ahead. The book is easy to read but packs a powerful message that resonated with me. I am not a huge fan of apps for everything, but there is an app to help believers adopt the praying on offense approach. Although I installed the app, I will be referring to the book to help me get started. I have heard it stated that the best way to learn to pray is simply to just start talking to God. I like that the author places an emphasis on talking with God. Maybe you are like me and have recognized that there is a difference between talking to someone and talking with someone. I believe this book will help me improve on talking with God.
