I received an advanced copy of this book in exchange for an honest review, and here is my assessment. While it is the 4th book in the series, I was informed that it could be read as a standalone, but my experience differed.
Let's start with the positives: I loved the characters, and the chemistry between Magnolia and Dalton was engaging. The storyline was also interesting, with several elements such as insta-love, forced proximity, and fake dating(kinda).
However, I did not enjoy the book as much as I expected, primarily due to the confusion caused by not having read the previous books in the series. Additionally, Dalton's backstory felt underdeveloped, making it difficult to fully understand his character. While the story had great potential, the pacing was too fast, and I felt that the fake dating aspect could have been further explored. Overall, the book had its moments, but it could have been better.
