god do i reread the entire series before the latest volume comes out???? or maybe like the last arc???? IM SO EXCITED FOR THIS WRRR WANEKO PLS SEND IT QUICKLY
Gotta say anytime we focus on the chasseur's too much my interest starts fading.💀 I do feel bad for Astolfo but then he's an unhinged murdering psychopath who beat the fuck out of my boy Noé not that long ago and I'm like nahh.
We get a lot more about the dhams here too including the prejudice they face for being half-breeds, along with Noé yet again being a naive babygirl who didn't even know about it. All the vampires being nasty to the dhams in the room and Noé is like "why y'all being like this? 🤨🤨" Then Vanitas gently educating him about the dham lore lmao.
The best chapter had to be where Domi and Vanitas start bonding after they have a whole rant about how Noé's innocence and recklessness to protect other people has put him in danger so many times. They love him so much I can't stand it tbh.😭 I love how Jeanne and Noé both tell Domi they love her like we just need Vanitas and Noé saying it to each other now and then we are SET.
Very unfortunate I have run out of chapters because it's gotten so good again.😔
‘This is ‘a story’. A single volume guaranteed to start in birth and end in death. Joy. Anger. Sorrow. Hope and despair. All those exist as evidence of the life that once was. They are memories, and records. Being forgotten is a pardon, but it is also a loss.’
There’s some sesbian lex going on here between Domijeanne.
On a more serious note, this volume was once again a real delight. There’s a lot of bonding in this one: we discover the emotional bond between Astolfo and Roland, Vanitas and Dominique get closer, the Dhams and Noé have some really nice interactions that tell a lot about discrimination, and Amélia and Domi also have a cute moment. The drawings are breathtaking as always. The limites edition cover is gorgeous. Mochijun I will always love you. I hope I won’t have to wait two more years for the next volume, but I will always be there for any stroke Mochizuki lays on paper.
Background exploités et teasés. Question des différences de milieu, de nature. Discriminations. Intrigue qui se complexifie. Dessins magnifiques.
This volume ended up being great for character depth and setting up the stage for the next story arc. If that scene with Domi and Jeanne wasn’t sapphic affection, I don’t know what is.
DOMIJEANNE IS CANON (trust)!!! I was so exited to FINALLY read volume 11 after years of waiting. There are so many new and cool characters this time. Marquis Machine and Charles??? I am bought.
I live for characters that have this strange angel lookalike design. Charles is everything I asked for and more. The art on the very first page? WOWOWOW
This volume was so fun to read (after surviving the depressing ass Astolpho falshback). I love him guys, don't attack me, but it was quite depressing (BUT we got some crazy Charles scenes hihihi :3)
I got both the special edition and the normal version and the nun sessions are different plus in the German version there's a typo at Misha's answer. Getting a nun Olivier AND a nun Astolpho felt like christmas. Also the sketch booklet was crazy??? Oh my god I loved this so much. Seeing Vanitas and Noé being developed was so beautiful. I was really surprised at how fast Vanitas was close to finish and how look it took her to fix Noé's design. I wonder how the side characters got developed, I really need the second part of this!
Good luck to Jean-Jaques and Chloé and also congrats to your marriage Jeanne and Domi! (they are married guys, trust me here)
This was definitely worth the wait. I thought Astolfo's backstory was over, but oh no, there was more....this wasn't a bad thing. I don't know, I just have mixed feelings about Astolfo overall. I'm hoping he'll someday learn to accept vampires, although I understand his reasoning for hating them.
My favorite part of this was when Vanitas and Domi started bonding. They ranted about Noe, showing their love for him. Then they went out together....ah I never expected them to get close at all, but I'm here for it.
It's interesting to learn more about the Dhams. Of course they'd be discriminated against....but Vanitas made a good point also about the discrimination being towards vampires too. The Dhams unfortunately have it worse, though.
I'm excited to read through more of this arc, which seems to be centered around the Dhams. For anyone wondering, this volume contains chapters 57-62.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I was really curious about the dhams in this universe, which this volume covered a lot. I had heard fan theories about Vanitas possibly being a dham, himself. I could still see it! I had taken a very long break after the anime and manga caught up together, so I need to remember more of what's happening. I always appreciate fun little nods at France's weirder historical accounts. Previously with the beast of Gevaudan, and now here with the Count of Saint Germain. Two topics of interest to me, as someone who's into weird shit.
A single volume, guaranteed to start with a birth and end in death.
Joy. Anger. Sorrow. Hope and despair. All those exist as evidence of the life that once was. They are memories and records. Being forgotten is a pardon, but it is also a loss.
—Thus, we wrote them down. Within our bodies, countless books are placed in our care and handed down so that they will not be lost. We are the fangs that reveal the blood—
I'm rating this 4 stars mainly because I remember enjoying it, but I don't actually remember what happens because it's been so long since the chapters came out. The first one in this volume is from THREE YEARS AGO. This manga will definitely be one I'll be rereading when it finishes publishing to properly enjoy it, although that likely won't happen for a very long time.
First manga past the current anime. Noé should be worried about Vanitas and Domi getting along now lmao. Unexpectedly but interestingly, it also got, pretty heatedly, into discrimination issues... and (separate group) assault... there was a lot of lore to this volume actually...
