Rate this book
Tenacious new publicist Lovie Whitfield is eager to make her mark. She's about to land the opportunity of a lifetime—an exclusive book tour for an up-and-coming author with a provocative relationship book creating waves across social media. There's just one Saxon Mitchell, the owner of Kentucky's most sought-after bookstore and bourbon bar, must agree to host the book tour's debut.
Saxon, who is embracing his quiet small town life at The Book Barrel, refuses to entertain the idea of hosting his ex-wife's book signing. He values his privacy and endorsing a book that reveals intimate details about his life is out of the question. He dismisses Lovie's emails, texts, calls, and DMs, hoping she'll respect his boundaries and move on.
But Lovie isn't one to back down easily. In a daring move, she heads to Kissing Springs, KY to meet Saxon in person, setting off sparks that neither can deny.

My first read by this author and I truly enjoyed. I like a story with some suspense, mystery, and a little drama.
Saxon had that sexy swag and dangerous, mysterious, and careful demeanor.
If Lovie was nothing else, she was smart, creative, intelligent, confident, and ready to make a name for herself in the publicist business.

They both had their doubts and walls up guarding their hearts on the matter of love. Saxon, with that devious of a devil ex-wife, who he later found out was worse than he thought.

The heart wants what the heart wants. These two found a way back to each other, and it wasn't exactly pretty.

I picked this up at the Conyers Book Festival. It was a blind read as I was not familiar with author however after meeting her, I grabbed this one immediately. She said it was highly praised and I agree. It’s a cute and quick romance novella. I enjoyed the budding romance connection between Saxon and Lovie. I love that he is a bookstore owner and what he does for the community. I would read another from this author!

Lovie and Saxon

Saxon, owner of The Book Barrel, a bookstore and bourbon bar was living his life peacefully and here comes Lovie. Igniting something within the ‘grumpy’ owner. I enjoyed their story. It had the perfect touch of love, drama and angst. The characters and story are well developed. Recommend

cute but predictable

Nice quick read. Some of the behaviors for the head female character were too unrealistic for her role. Storyline too easy to figure out.
