My first foray into Richard’s world of Incarnates, destruction and magic left me wanting a bit more.

With hints of insta-love which was tied in to forgotten history and amnesia that fixed itself as we journeyed along with Bethany and Caine, it smacked of a little too convenient.

I liked the concept and the ways things were brought in, like the Fae, hints of witches, vampires and all manner of other fantasy and paranormal creatures, but alas it was too little to carry the story.

Hagan was an interesting character, who while only a side note in this quick tale left a mark, though the pivotal moment lacked the emotional impact I think Richard hoped it would have.

Will I continue with the series, perhaps down the track I’ll revisit.

This definitely needs an edit, plenty of little typos and issues that a good eye will pick up.

Things I noticed:

8% - It took a moment for her a moment (delete second a moment) to spot…
10% - A mass of writing (writhing) tendrils…
39% - Bethany’s expression reminded him (of) a storm cloud…
54% - …but itf (if) it was a choice…
63% - …trying not to smile (at) Bethany as (she) ducked…
64% - …an events (event) or a person…
77% …wasn’t the first time she(delete she) someone told her…
80% - …affinity for order allowed let me (delete let me, insert him to) see how things…
