Successfully leverage technology to enhance classroom practices with this practical resource. The authors demonstrate the importance of educational technology, which is quickly becoming an essential component in effective teaching. Included are over 100 organized classroom strategies, vignettes that show each section’s strategies in action, and a glossary of classroom-relevant technology terms. Key research is summarized and translated into classroom recommendations.
If I never see another reference to “clickers in the classroom” it will be too soon. Now, this is not my favorite or preferred type of reading by a long shot. I am sure it is well-written by any writing standards, but I would not choose to read this book “just because” - I had to read it for a course . I gave it 3 stars because my preference for reading should not be considered for something like this granted, if you like to read material in this genre, I suppose it is not bad.
This is the perfect book if you have enough technology for everyone in the classroom on a consistent basis. Great ideas, love the the glossary, and I'd love to have the technology to work with and teach to my students. Unfortunately, rural poverty stricken districts just can't seem to catch a break in that regard.
The ideas are helpful, although many of the same resources are presented over and over. I thought there would be a greater variety of recommendations for various digital tools, and a better description of how each one worked.
Should be entitled "How To Drag Technology Into A Bunch of Valid teaching Ideas, Even If it doesn't Really help." Read for PBE class. Some good stuff, but ridiculous overkill in places.
This book has good ideas if you have extensive time and tech resource to devote to integrating technology into the classroom. Much easier to implement ideas if all students have computers.
