An ardent desire or longing. A feeling of loss or grief for something lost.
We survived the attack on the estate. We survived the horde. We survived winter during an apocalypse. But now our supplies are running out.
Food is scarce and not likely to last another week. Our only option is to pack up and find a new sanctuary. But with this choice comes the risk of failure. Even death.
Will we survive the trip? What surprises lurk around the next bend? The unknown lies before us as we journey in desiderium.
Desiderium is Book 2 in the Devil Dogs of the Apocalypse Series. It is highly recommended to read Purgatory (book 1) before reading Desiderium as it contains the origin story to everything about to occur. Book 1.5, Apricity, is the winter novella and contains further character development and extra fun designed to fit nicely in between Purgatory and Desiderium. It is not necessary to read but it is encouraged. Happy reading :)
Hi there! Nikki here. Mother of three, wife to a husband that is too sexy for his own good, and a self-published indie author that likes to let my insanely kinky mind let loose and have fun. Apart from reading and writing romance, I also like to cook, rock climb and, during the warmer months, spend as many of my days as I can out in the sun.
Nicole you dirty dog!!!!!!!! That cliffhanger… I love you and hate you! No but seriously what a great continuation of the story! I love a good plot twist and the unexpected happening. There is plenty spice but the plot is actually continued in a very edge of your seat type way and I loved it! Can’t wait for the next!!!!
If I could read this for the first time again, I would give anything. This was the perfect continuation of book 1. I wasn't sure how this plot would develop BUT DID IT DELIVER!!! The humor element of this book is what I love most. Who wouldn't be delulu in a time like this!? The spice is spicing and the relationship builds in this book had be on the edge of my seat. I love nothing more than a good character development, and I think as an author it would be hard to do that with one character, but Nicole is perfectly developing all four of these characters at the same time and it's incredible to watch unfold. The CLIFFHANGER had me gasping, luckily I had book three and I went right in. There was no way I would accept how that ended. I can't wait to finish book three and see where not only the love between these four go, but how the heck they are supposed to keep going with the predicament they are in! Outstanding book and I am having so much fun with this series. Even though I am running through Spicey Bean Juice to keep awake because I can't stop reading.
Extra Spicy with a side of Zombies Book 2 of the Devil Dogs of the Apocalypse series was a fast engaging read. Our sassy, snarky FMC Aly has found love with her men Jax, Hawk, and Cole. They are facing a world that has fallen apart. Thinking ahead to a future together they start their apocalypse road trip. All the spice and all the problems of living in a zombie infested world. Will they find their utopian forever home? Well thanks to an extra cliffy cliff hanger we will have to wait for book 3 with bated breath! The read was fun and fast because I was so deep into it. Sure, there were times I shouted alternatives to what Aly did but really isn’t that half the fun of reading a book in this genre? In the end I loved the book and loved the cliff hanger.
Is it possible to both love and hate an author? After reading this book, yes it is. My heart was in my mouth for most of this book as Aly and her Devil Dogs have to traverse the country to find a new safe haven. This book went between being so hot I thought my kindle might melt and so scary that I thought I might throw up in fear and then cry my eyes out. How dare you make me feel this way and then have to wait for the next one.
This was a great second book. I really really enjoyed the spice level of this book. I would give it 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. Aly and her men are gone from the safety of Jax’s house. It has burnt to the ground. They are hiding out in his small cabin. They must find a new place to survive. They head out on foot to find a new place. If only things were easy.
I read this book in just a couple hours I couldn’t put it down! It was fast paced but I love the characters and story so far. Cliff hanger killed me tho. Cannot wait for the 3rd book!
An absolutely fantastic read. It’s everything that the first one and a half books were but boy does it on a cruel cliffhanger!! Fingers crossed that the next book is currently being lovingly created, not that we’re impatient….much.
