This story was just so much fun to read. Both heartfelt and sincere, it shows how love can be dormant and then bloom in a beautiful way, even when it is entirely unexpected.

When Megan learns that her husband has been cheating on her, she packs up her young daughter and turns to the only person she can think of for support: her former college roommate and best friend, Tasha. Tasha takes her in and the two reconnect and support each other as their romance slowly, but steadily, builds.

This story surprised me because it doesn’t just center around a relationship, it explores many different characters and themes. Even side characters were given goals and motivation helping to round out the story as a whole. The two FMC’s were treated with care and respect and their love story seemed not only romantic but realistic and authentic as well. The writer explores real life struggles as FMCs navigate both their sexuality and their newfound love for each other.

Overall, this was a delightful read. Perfect for anyone who wants a cozy love story full of family, fun…oh! And CATS!

No One Like You told such a sweet story about second chances, embracing the love you deserve, and that you’re never too old to find yourself.

The story follows Megan as she navigates some…end of relationship issues with her soon to be ex husband. Megan and her daughter Sophia end up staying with Megan’s college friend, Tasha, and immediately there is this feeling of warmth and protection in their reunion.

This story tackles some heavy topics, and I really appreciated how we got a glimpse into how the characters professed the conflicts they experienced.

So many books rely on the “miscommunication” trope to spark conflicts, and I love that Chris does the exact opposite. Chris’s characters, are emotionally intelligent, and use their adult communication skills to navigate a way through the conflict.

Not only that- Chris’s characters are allowed the opportunity to grow, learn from mistakes, and come around to take accountability. It’s such an important part of the antagonist arc that we don’t often get, and shows that even when people make awful mistakes, it doesn’t always mean they’re awful people at heart.

If you’re looking for a warm, fluffy, heartwarming story check this one out :)

A very enjoyable, well written book! Set in Portland Oregon, it brought back memories of familiar places and activities in that wonderful city. I loved the pacing of the developing friendship between the main characters…a slow, steady, and very believable deepening of the relationship. The author’s low key humor popped up in unexpected places, leaving me to laugh out loud. The author clearly loves Portland and its eclectic citizenry. I look forward to his future writing endeavors!

Another adorable romance on my shelf and it was very enjoyable! There was not a single detail left out, it moved at a great pace and the chapter weren’t too long to be able to keep my attention. I went into this book blind and I was very excited to read something that was all surprises. In the beginning I wondered where it was going but, then I caught and it ended as a sweet happy ending. I do wish there was a little more family drama or maybe more conflict between Brad and Megan just to give the story a little more depth but, it was still a great read. I loved the bits of comedy in it, that was a perfect touch to get me all the happy/giddy feelings that I personally look for in a romance novel. I recommend this book to all my happy ending/sweet love romance readers. Personally for me, that wasn’t anything crazy or spicy in this and I think young adults could read this. Congrats on a great first book Chris! I’m looking forward to your future books!

There were so many things I loved about this book. First, the dialogue is mature, real and often witty. I loved the author’s descriptions of the cats and their interactions with their humans, too. All of the little details are handled well and add a lot to the story, such as the song titles as chapter names. The playlist at the back of the book is a great touch.

The theme of finding out who you are and what you really want is one that I could see resonating with a lot of readers. I personally found this book very empowering, and I’m not even talking about Maria, a side character who’s a total badass.

I can’t wait to read more by this author!

I was so happy to receive a copy of the authors debut novel! This is such a cute read. It’s a light, fluffy feel good novel. I loved the character growth with Tasha, Megan and Brad, and loved the playlist at the head of the chapters!
Tasha was my fave character, she’s intelligent, she knows what she wants and is badass.
I loved the slow burn, friends to lovers and will they won’t they tropes, and the LGBTQ* representation. It did move a bit too fast for me at some parts but overall I did enjoy the book

First, I want to thank Chris for writing this AMAZING book!

"No One Like You" is going down as one of my favorite rom-coms of 2024. The friendship, the love and genuine emotions from this book made for an incredible read!

The title alone was PERFECT for this book. There is always that one person in our life that is "no one like you". I went into this excited for the blurb and walked out of it completely in awe. In the book, we follow Tasha and Megan, best friends from college who went through a time of not staying in constant contact. A rough time in Megan's life reconnects them and leads to a lot of things blossoming in their friendship and lives. I loved Tasha & Megan's friendship and how Megan always thought about what was best for Sophia (her daughter). The character growth in Tasha, Megan and Megan's husband Brad was AMAZING! Their maturity really showed and I loved seeing how they each took time to work on themselves and what they wanted in their own lives. It was so refreshing to read a book where characters could have adult conversations, voice their own feelings and take responsibility for the wrongs they have done. The support in this book really warmed my heart. They were surrounded by amazing friends who helped give great advice, love on Sophia and been there through the highs and lows. I don't want to give too much away, but this was the PERFECT contemporary romance that gave me all of the happy feelings and I can NOT wait to read more novels by Chris when he writes them! If you want a delightful rom-com with LGBTQ+ representation, surrounded with love, family, friendship and ends in a HEA, read "No One Like You"!

When I spend my day excited to get home to find out what the characters in my current book selection are up to, I know I’ve struck gold. Megan and Tasha’s endearing story plays out with all of the sweetness, humor, and inevitable missteps necessary to create a new favorite romantic comedy that I will read more than once. Chris introduces the reader to characters relatable enough to pass for your best friends, with enough nuance and complexity to keep the reader engaged and anticipating every page turn. Chis is beautifully descriptive without being verbose, so sinking into the world of these characters every time the book is opened is pure delight. I can’t wait to read more from Chris Walters.

Chris Walters has a great grasp of dialog and has breathed life into some special characters. I'm not usually into romance novels, but the characters really pull you into their world. Very clever writing: Nocturne the cat and all cat references were cute and funny, the chapter titles were music tracks so I had a built-in soundtrack as I read, and it didn't hurt that the story is in the great city of Portland. Also bonus trivia: I know the story behind the sequined announcer at the roller derby!
Chris Walters wears many hats, and now is an author well on his way to a full bookshelf of titles.

NOLY is my "Feel-Good" Romance of the Summer!

I repeated it over and over again as I read this book: "This is so heartwarming!" I found myself sitting back and smiling while I read it. It's sweet and funny and the banter is top notch.

Megan and Tasha's story points to the resilience that women inherently possess to overcome the adversities that the world tosses their way, and when you double that resilience? There's nothing they can't achieve.

This is a fluffy and delightful debut novel from an author that I can't wait to read again. Well done!!
